The Best New Restaurants in the World: 2024 Hot List

"At this sprawling space—an erstwhile clubhouse for civil servants—in Singapore’s leafy Dempsey enclave, chef Matthew Orlando (who used to pilot Copenhagen’s influential Amass) is continuing his mission to make circular cooking as natural as, well, breathing air."

Went for a Sunday brunch. The service was fantastic, the food was good too in terms of presentation and taste( amazing amazing amazing taste) but 2 things - firstly, the quantity was less and secondly, the quantity was really less for the amount of money we ended up paying for this meal. We could have enjoyed an equally or maybe even a heartier meal for the tummy without overfilling it maybe at long beach or jumbo. If they could improve their price point and keep an ala carte menu for Sunday too that would be good.

Felt that in terms of service can be done better. Perhaps dishing out every dish to guests, an idea explanation of what it is can be shared instead of leaving us to guess what were the ingredients/condiments etc used. Manager seemed disinterested as when asked for menu, he gave a distinct "buay song" smile or perhaps it is just his normal way of smiling. That was how I felt. Server was a bit impatient when explaining the menu coz appetizer and main course were not explicitly separated in the menu hence took us some time again to reorganize what we should order as our table has a pescatarian. Overall was quite pricey especially the prawn dish. Just prawns and puff rice which was 180gm etc of meat was definitely not worth $38! Some dishes were "out of stock" and were not informed when we were ordering so my guest got to rethink what to order. The wagyu was good but not like a woah factor but honestly decent. Thank you for the surprise birthday dessert for the birthday boy. Just felt overall was pricey for the portion of food.

Love the chill vibes and the food esp the duck breast. The seabass was a little bit hard but overall likes the freshness and the crust on the skin. The drink of the month, Negroni was a steal. A perfect dinner place .

Food and restaurant atmosphere are good but the service is really bad. I came for birthday dinner and left extremely upset. They were very selective. Food feels like semi fine dining so I didn’t come in with dresses but sufficiently decent. But the service staff’s atitude is really extremely inconsistent. My husband booked without mentioning anything about it being anniversary dinner nor birthday, I dont know how they deduce by themselves that it was an anniversary dinner instead of birthday. But even if it was an anniversary dinner with a service like that, they were really sucks! Such upsetting dinner with selective service staff’s service. They put food on our table without explaining but do it for other, and not pleasant throughout. I don’t think I make any demanding or any request even throughout my dining experience. For such price but service? Trust me, even if food is decent, you can get better service treatment and better appetite too anywhere else! Such rude and horrible dining experience to have especially for celebration. Sucks!

Brought my partner here for birthday dinner. We had the 5 course meal and overall was ok. The 5 course dishes are on the sweet side. We prefer them to be more savoury. The chicken with black rice was pretty good though. Tender and not overcooked. They were attentive to my requests for the birthday note and also gave us a very private corner which I really appreciate. The dishes here are for sharing so do come with friends.

This is my third visit, and I absolutely love the wide-ranging menu. Each time I try different dishes, and every visit brings a delightful surprise! The flavors remind me of the famous Tippling Club with their unique and sophisticated taste profiles - just without the elevated plating. But that’s perfectly fine, as the prices are very reasonable!

The environment is absolutely great , located in a huge garden. However the food is quite hard to appreciate. I can see the creativity and chef's spirit in fusing Singapore local ingredients but the taste is not balanced. The only thing I like in the whole set is the butter of the potato bread.

The experience was still good after a year from coming back. The service staff was friendly and engaged us across our meal to make sure we are well taken care of. The sourdough bread with mushroom butter was a highlight, the smoke white fish on fishbone crisp was another star dish. Tiger prawns Bakar and puffed rice was an interesting texture for taste, crispy on bite, with the prawns at the base.
