One of the many beautiful waterfalls in Sumba, it is located in East Sumba. You have to walk 20 minutes from the parking area to the waterfalls, and the path are pretty steep, but it is paid off once you see the beautiful waterfalls. Oh ya the allow you to dip into the water there

Well maintain of the tracking path. This waterfall just maintain by a local guy who built the stairs and collect the trash of visitors. Very clean area of the tracking path. The waterfall is small but very lovely with blue water. There is toilet and it’s pretty clean. No tickets retribution, only need to pay parking fee. But I would like to recommend you to give him more because he is very care about the environment.

Nice waterfall to visit and swim in! From the parking area, its about a 20 min walk down to the waterfall and its free to enter. The road to the waterfall is not shown on Google maps / open steet maps. From Melolo follow the signs for the waterfall. Once you turn off the main road follow the unpaved road (this does not show on Google maps). You will eventually reach a small village which you need to pass through and then take a sharp left turn. This road then leads to the parking area of the waterfall. Tour groups seem to visit in the morning until about 2pm which means the place can get quite busy as it is quite small. If you want it to yourself come early morning or in the afternoon.

The Wai Marang waterfall was not hard to find using google maps and the satellite function. We went here by car and the road was alright. The hike from the parking to the waterfall was ok but when it's raining I can imagine some parts being slippery. When we got to the waterfall we were the only people there and it was nice to dive into the fresh water.

Pretty good road from Waingapu to the village. Only a few hundred meters are bad. You need to hike down for about 15 to 30 mins, depends on your speed, until you see the waterfall. Go on weekdays then you will have the waterfall like a private one. Ticket is only for vehicle. The lady sells mineral water (Rp5k) and instant noodles (Rp10to15k), very reasonable prices.

Great, clean, fresh, and very beautiful waterfall! Like a hidden paradise! We must prepare our fit body to go there because from the parking place (on the top of hill) we walk by feet in narrow & rocky tracking way, about 2 km. But worth to go!

Waterfall Waimarang In the east of the island of Sumba. The road towards the waterfall again is a Mad Max meets Indiana Jones versus Lara Croft. When at the parking place it feels nice to have reached a resting place of tranquillity. 3 more adventures passages await 1. the stairway, flip flops 2. The vulcano rock, flip flops 3. The Indiana Jones, no flip flops Then, finally there is the gorgeous waterfall.

I was hesitated in the beginning because people said it's very hard and a bit dangerous. But at the end I got courage to do this, and it's totally worth it. You need approx 20-30 minute trekking down walk through the forest to the waterfall. Little bit slippery at the end, but good things now they put some bamboo on the side of the dangerous part so you can grab that and hold on it while you trekked down. You must be very fit if you want to reach the waterfall. But once you are there, all you can do is amazed with the beauty of the green, blue , tosca pond. Jump, swim and enjoy the water as it will refresh you. Don't forget to put some sunblock because the heat sting. The trip go back up is a bit tricky when you wet, it will be easier if you dry yourself/ change before hike up
