Airai Bai

Beautiful place. It says you need to buy some tickets or licence somewhere... We dont know where.

The cheapest and most authentic way to explore Airai Bai is with the local Experience Airai tour. The $10 tour goes for 1hr and includes the Bai, Canoe House and WWII Japanese Communications Centre. The Bai is beautiful and the surrounds have been well cared for. It’s interesting to hear about the history and discover the stories painted on the Bai.

Took our large Scuba group on a dinner, dance performance tour of the Airai Bai and we were all very pleased with the event. The Bai and the dance performance gave us insight and education on the Palauan culture. And the dinner was great. We ate traditional Palau food. I loved the pumpkin "dessert" and my wife loved the crab. Some in our group said the dinner was the best food they'd eaten all week. We booked the tour through Fish N Fins and the Palau Visitors Authority. We'd like to thank all the ladies of Airai once again for the wonderful tour, dinner, and dance.

The traditional gathering place for village men’s meeting. Women is forbidden to go. The whole building is raise up with concrete pillar. Wood structure that is painting with important tradition. Yellow Angel fish on top is their sacred fish, shark to signify the event for boy turn adulthood by catch one shark and The entrance of the building is under women’s legs to stress the respect of the women- don’t forget where you coming from. We happens to see how men repair the building now. It’s all done by hand. Very impressive.

An old Bai that has been renovated and well preserved. Situated in a beautiful garden. Worth a visit if you have a rental car and have spare time. Only 15 minutes from Koror.
