A marvellous museum that remembers the bravery, loss and sacrifice of The British. Airborne Division, The Polish Airborne Brigade and the oppressed Dutch population in September 1944. The museum also offers detailed artefacts etc of the occupying German forces. The cost in June 2025 was €16 person and this is very good value in my opinion. The museum exhibits and information are very well laid out. The staff are friendly and give advice on the museum and how to use the personal audio equipment. The gift/bookshop is well stocked. Toilets are within the building, too. As of June 2025, there is a temporary exhibit by the Netherlands Army body recovery and identification team. This is fascinating and their commitment to identifying the war dead, admirable. The battle display is very good, taking visitors through a glider landing to the eventual withdrawal across The Rhine River. It is noisy and realistic. I would highly recommend that you visit here if you have any interest whatsoever in World War Two. "Lest We Forget"

The best museum I have ever been to. Simply amazing stories, presented in a respectful light for both sides. So much history in one amazing building. The staff are very good at what they do.

The audio guide was brilliant . Quality war time relics , uniforms , weapons , letters from soldiers… As well as the Battle of Arnhem , the museum covers a variety of different topics like recovering and identifying unknown soldiers. There is also an ‘Airbourne Experience’ on the bottom floor. I spent over 2 hours here , gets a little busy inside the museum when there’s a concert in town . Overall recommend.

Very good museum but it's meant for people that enioy reading and listening, not much to actually see. The Sherman outside is in great state, and the museum offers a live experience of the battle of arnhem.

What an amazing place this is. We probably went on one of the busiest days, in fact I would love to come back when it's a little quieter. However it was still a memorable visit. The history of the building and its place in Market Garden is quite something. The museum is so good, it covers every aspect of the history of this place, giving you a real insight. You are given a headset at the start and as you enter each room there is a place you tap the hand set and the narrative plays. I didn't realise that as you walk round on the displays some have numbers if you key the numbers into the handset you get a commentary on that item. Really interesting. The displays are top class, beautifully presented with so much information. We finished off in the special display commemorating Market Garden, not an easy thing to do but you definitely feel the horror of what those young men went through. Thought it was excellent. Loved everything about this place, the outside area is beautiful to sit in and the museum was an amazing place to walk around. Would love to come back and spend more time looking at individual items Highly recommend

Best part of our trip to southern Netherlands. High-tech underground exhibit was really great! And we enjoyed walking the “U” defense trail on a beautiful sunny day. Thank you to the staff for leading the way.

Yelp
Great museum in a lovely setting. The first I've been to that focuses on a loss by "the good guys". The audio tour pairs well with the exhibits. Don't forget to go dorm to the minus 3 level for the special exhibit.

Yelp
The museum is well done. My husband wanted to come here for many years. We finally made it. They are doing some renovation for the 75th anniversary. Most of the writings are in Dutch and English. We parked across the street as we didn't see any parking lot. There is a huge park behind the museum which is a lovely place for a walk. The basement has a walk through to make you feel like you were there during the battle. The cost is 11 Euros per person to enter. Gift shop is small. I am glad my husband finally got to make it to this part of the world and see first hand what he had read about for years.

Yelp
A genuinely moving depiction of a crucial event in WW2 encapsulating all the horror and absurdity of war. As one of the displays quotes a British paratrooper: "We tried to liberate Arnhem, but all we did in the end was bring death and destruction. Yet the people have never blamed us, not once." So there it is: the ugly truth beneath all noble pronouncements.

Yelp
In a class by itself. This is the best "incident museum" we've ever seen. It tells the story of Operation Market Garden ("A Bridge Too Far") in a series of biographical profiles and maps. The museum building was where both the German General and then the British General made their headquarters (at separate times, of course). It needs about 90 minutes to do it right.

Yelp
This museum offers a very compelling blend of military history with an equal amount of local / civilian history during the events after Market Garden that was unexpected to find though just as powerful an experience. To know that the area residents still celebrate and honor the sacrifice of the troops all those years ago is amazing. It was well worth the drive to explore the area that I've seen only in the movies.
