Burger was great, especially by airport standards. Brioche was well toasted, patty was a good medium, sauce was well spread. Fries were mid but totally fine. Service was slow as it seemed like they were understaffed. Beer is quite cheap.

Google
Friendly and open staff. We recommend sitting outside on the terrace in good weather. With delicious homemade beer or juice spritzer. All ingredients are really fresh. Recommended for anyone who wants to eat and drink something tasty, quickly and easily.

Google
Nice place with authentic Bavarian dishes and very good beer brewed in-house. The atmosphere is great, though the breakfast bowl was a bit underwhelming. Still worth a visit

Google
Everything was great except they ran out of sausages on the day we went there. And it was 6 pm. So we were a little sad. We got the half pork and veal. They were delicious. The staff was attentive and great. The atmosphere was amazing.

At Munich Airport, we took a walk around Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. There were actually quite a few shopping and dining options. The Mueller shop that we spoke about yesterday was also here. You can do last minute shopping at an official Bayern Munich shop and also have McDonald’s! Eventually, we decided to dine in AirBrau – a restaurant that sold German beers and food. Mainly because the beers were cheaper and they had spaetzle – a traditional German fare. At 3.70 euros per half litre of beer, this was the most affordable we’ve seen during this trip… For the full details of our 5 months Round The World (RTW) trip, visit 2bearbear today!

Google
Authentic Bavarian beer hall right in Munich Airport! Freshly brewed beer with a unique honey-like taste, hearty German food, and unbeatable prices – just €3.7 for half a liter. Surprisingly, it’s not just a bar but also a brewery on-site. A must-visit if you have time before your flight!

Google
Nice place for dinner and drink to chill out with good food and friendly fast service. Next to our Hilton airport hotel, enjoyed our last dinner before flying back tomorrow.

Google
Great food! We were so glad to have good German food one last time before heading back to the states.

Yelp
This is our first ever restaurant experience in Germany and we are absolutely amazed. Everything is so unfamiliar but we managed to find a table and going through the menu. Did some research before coming here so we had a basic idea already. We decided to choose the outdoor dining area, very festive, spacious, welcoming and chilled. The decoration is also cozy and comfortable. Soon a very sweet lady came to serve us, she has a beautiful smile and even there is some language barrier but she made sure that we got our food and drink. We chug down half way the beer and cant express how much we appreciate the taste and freshness of the BEST beer in the world. The sausage is so flavorful and I love the texture so much; the bread dumplings are something new to us and we actually love the chewy texture too. Highly recommended!! I beg you to come here whenever you have a chance in Munich, Germany.

Yelp
Excellent German 6 sausages with cabbage. Well worth the sit down experience if you have time. Yummy efficiency service relaxing. good service

Dan D.

Yelp
I ate breakfast at the location by the H gates in Terminal 2. When I went, there were 4 other tables filled. The food came fast - very important in an airport - and my bill came right away when I asked too. In addition, the food was cooked properly. The eggs weren't overdone, and the sausage cooked all the way through. The staff speaks more than enough English to talk hesitant travelers through the multilingual menu.
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
The restaurant is the first airport brewery. When we arrived, it was packed and we were told to come back in an hour. We did a little bit of grocery shopping nearby and came back after half an hour. There was a line, but we were able to get seated this time. I ordered the Chef's Favorite Escalope (schnitzel). It came with a salad. After not eating enough greens for the past few days, the salad was so good. I wished there was a bigger bowl of it. There were two pieces of escalope and I was only able to finish one as the plate also came with a heap of cheese spaetzle. You won't leave here hungry.

Yelp
In the immense, somewhat confusing Munich Airport, we had enough of a delay to get a restaurant lunch. Airbrau was our choice...and it was a good one. Diners were passengers, crew members, tourists and workers in their coveralls. Quite a mix and the restaurant was full. Watching the various tables, we saw a lot of beer, large beers, and an array of traditional German dishes. Authentic for sure. Waitress spoke Engish, so explained much of the menu to us. It was a great lunch. Look for it if you are hungry in the airport.
google avatar

Bhagyashree B.

Yelp
A brewery at the airport, what a great concept and a very German welcome! We had a great time chilling at the airport with pretzels and traditional German cheese with some beers, of course! Great way to get the Oktoberfest party started soon after landing in Munich. The space is so beautifully decorated and outdoor seating area is lovely when weather's good.

Yelp
If you're non-German and like a good beer, stick w/ the well established Bayern breweries and skip Airbräu. This craft beer (I had the lager) would not compete well with most local breweries in the U.S. I left my liter halfway through it. Just not that good. As for service, it's unfortunate for anyone's first visit to Germany if this place is their first experience with the locals. Today, no less than 3 waitresses literally just waived us towards tables, clearly communicating we were on our own. We wandered around the beautiful bier garten trying to find even a table needing cleaning, and came up empty handed. We went inside and got the same wave of the hand ala "be my guest". We should have voted with our wallets . . . Finally, we stood by a table cluttered with plates and glasses until a waiter came to clear it. He at least showed some customer service. Lesson? Don't get suckered in by the idea of a good German beer in the garden. Wait until you get into the city. No Cheers! RS

Yelp
Good food, fast service. Not a bad place for quick food. I will be back. If you want German food a good choice.

Petra H.

Yelp
Don't think I would ever eat there again. It's the only proper scale restaurant at MUC airport - and they know that. Service...lacking mostly and rude (as in beg your waiter to come take your order) but the food is typically good or very decent Bavarian staples. This week I was served the worst Wiener Schnitzel in history. Dark beyond recognition, the meat positively beef not veal, and dunked in brown sauce, the one typically served with roasts. That was a new low! Only topped by the waiter yelling at this culinarily disturbed guest to read the menu when ordering, finished off by the maitre d' that it did look VERY dark but they only have one kind of meat in the kitchen so what can you do, slapped with a €29.50 bill for the inedible "delight". Makes McDonalds next door the smarter choice.

Yelp
We had an overnight at the Hilton Munich Airport and visited Airbräu for dinner. Airbräu has a few locations at Munich airport. We visited their location outside of the arrivals hall. The restaurant is clearly a Munich brew house. It is open seating and when we arrived there were a few open tables to choose from. We did not have a starter. My wife had a Wiesnburger and I had the Schweinebraten. They both were very well prepared. Airbräu is a very nice option to have when staying by the airport.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
Lovely place to sit outside and have a beer waiting for a delayed flight. Quite civilized! I had a half order of knuckles, and BF had Grandma's cheese spatz. I have a order of knuckles is huge! And it came with a crispy skin attached. I don't remember the exact price, but it was a heck of a deal.

A B.

Yelp
Smells like a brewery (which sounds too romantic for the foul ferment that is). Food - I had the half haxe - was too dry and too salty, with very bland krautsalat. Their "homemade lemonade" is homemade in the sense that they probably personally pour the syrup into the spritzer; artificial taste; overpriced for that. That being said, it's got beer and some beer pub vibes at an airport restaurant priced ok for an airport restaurant. All in all, OK for an airport, but not something one should plan to eat at if they can have a downtown location instead.
google avatar

Stacy S.

Yelp
Surprisingly good, and reasonable place at airport. Beer and German dishes are on a par with better restaurants in DT Munich. Service is a brusque and a bit uncaring (even for here lol) although we addressed the server in English and he spoke it well, he handed us a German menu ( they have English ones) and seemed irritated at our questions. They also seem to rush you off a bit, so maybe not a place to while away the time waiting on a flight. Still, good food and excellent bier. Note, this is a pre security place.
google avatar

Michael O.

Yelp
Wonderful find just outside the secure area at the Munich Airport. They make their own bier onsite. Had a great winter bier called Krampus. It's a bottom fermented bier. Nice touch for the winter weather. Also had the brewer's favorite platter. Great sampling of Bavarian food. If your traveling thru and have time, suggest you pop out to enjoy. FYI they also have a large bier garden for the warmer weather.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Great concept, poorly executed. The beer garden is fun and the food is horrid. I suggest going the McDonalds across the way instead.
google avatar

Larry K.

Yelp
I think this restaurant gets rated low because of the lack of staff... And service was admitted quite slow, though the server was doing his best with at least ten tables... the food however was quite good and the portions are enormous... the pork roast was almost embarrassingly large... All in all quite a nice place for a airport venue, if you have the time... If you are limited in time, don't go here...
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
This is typical airport restaurant food wise. The decor is pretty cool, but it doesn't leave a ton of space for you to store your luggage. It's pre security. Service wasn't super quick, I had to get up to find menus. However, we had plenty of time so we were fine. We got the weiner schnitzel, which was good but not the best and definitely more money than what we'd paid for previously. I think I'd go somewhere else next time.

Yelp
3/5/23, I hit this enroute from a nice coffee place to the Gate L to grab a few pretzels to bring home for some family to try authentic German Pretzels. Hope they enjoy it. There was no line and it was quick service. I gave it 3 stars for the fast service and a well package take away. Once I return I will update based on the quality of the taste. They smell so good and they are warm. I'm tempted to cheat and try one now but I'm not going to. Haben ein gluten tag! I do not have photos since I was on the run. I arrived home and we ate the pretzels. They were very good and soft. Total stars of a 4.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Keep in mind you're eating at a restaurant in the airport and the German restaurant industry is not known for charming stellar service and you'll have a rough idea of what to expect. The menu has all the classics in terms of food and beer (Schnitzel, Pork knuckle, Potato dumplings, etc) and pricing while is on the pricier side it's on par for what to expect from an airport restaurant. I ordered the Bavarian Burger which was rather tasty while the fries that it came with were nothing to write home about. As for service, the servers were no help in trying to find me a table despite me circling around looking for a free space. Meanwhile they grill you with German commands. Luckily I understand German, but given it's an airport restaurant it would help for the staff to understand their audience. Watching their interactions with other customers you got the impression they were being burdened to use English. All in all it's a solid 3 stars. Don't expect a Michelin star restaurant or world class service and it's just fine.
google avatar

Damian L.

Yelp
Service was bad, slow and rude. Food was cold, and not great quality. Way over priced even for an airport. Do not waste your time or money! The beer is just ok. Munich is the land of amazing beer and this is not it. This place was good back in the day. No longer good. It is just sad and disappointing. Avoid!
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Good German food if you find yourself stuck at the airport. The service can get overwhelmed as it can be crowded. Food is good. Not amazing but very good.
google avatar

Russ V.

Yelp
Stuck in a layover at Munich's airport? Bored and wanna experience a genuine bit of Bavaria? Find the Airbräu Wirtsgarten and embrace Bavaria!!! It's like Texas but with Germans.

Adam K.

Yelp
Love stopping in here for breakfast after a long flight. The aviator Double Bock is great with a pretzel add white sausage.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Your typical beer Haus... down to the costume worn by the waitress! If you have time between flights or is worth it. And it will only take you 7 minutes to walk outside the airport. We only got one pretzel to share but later saw that you can Get a small pot of cheese with the dipping pretzels.
google avatar

Yuko H.

Yelp
They have own brewery here and yes it is at the airport! Only in Germany! Located between terminal 1 and 2 on the ground floor courtyard (outside airport security area), they serve good beer, I mean really good craft beer brewed right here. They have Weisswurst, pretzel, and beer. When in Bavarian country, that's all I want! They have other food too. We ordered combination meat for two people, oh boy, that was enough meat for four people! They were busy with tourists (perhaps in transit) as many had suitcases at their tables. Restaurant was packed and we often had to flag our server to order more food as they were really busy. No restrooms inside, use airport one just around the corner. Best airport food at reasonable price. Just give plenty of time to eat here as they are located outside the airport.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
This restaurant is located close to Lufthansa and United Airlines. The beer was superb and food that I ordered was also quite good for airport faire. A tip is to order your food and ask waiter to bring your check as well. He could get quite busy and if you are in a hurry you might have a bit of a wait. Good service so I recommend this place.
google avatar

Ronald E.

Yelp
This was a pretty amazing meal. The White Asparagus was cooked perfectly, not to mush and the hollandaise smooth and creamy. The cutlets were crispy and seasoned to perfection. A very positive experience

Matthias J.

Yelp
Considering how bad airport food in the US is, this place is both excellent and not overpriced. They actually brew their own beer on site and Munich airport being one of the two largest in Germany, they must get enough foot traffic to make a decent business. Food was delivered quite quickly, which is what you would expect from an airport restaurant. Nice place to kill some time between or before flights.
google avatar

Rachel K.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way out of Munich and home from an amazing honeymoon. I needed food badly after making sure I enjoyed my last night in Munich and went a little overboard on the delicious bier. Apparently smoked salmon and eggs wouldn't be my husbands choice for hangover food but it definitely worked for me. A couple sunnyside up eggs, some delicious salmon, rolls and a cappuccino later and I was good to go! The service was very friendly and while all we tried was breakfast we were definitely happy with it!
google avatar

Jelle L.

Yelp
Bayrischer Wurstsalat, Wiesnschmackeln, Kässpätzle. Was great last meal prior returning to US. I wish we had places like this ...

Gerald M.

Yelp
A Great Place for Good German Beer & Food Friendly Staff English language no problem Best of all you don't get Screwed with High "Airport" prices Very reasonable
google avatar

Jimmy L.

Yelp
This place's claim to fame is that it is the "first" brewery at an airport. The giant outdoor beer garden, perfecting situated outside the airline terminals, is a welcoming place. Food wise, this place offers typical German food items (e.g. pretzels, schnitzel, sausage) and is IMO pricey. There are specials and it seems like stuff that would be good to try. A wide selection of drinks means one can imbibe whatever their thirst demands. I tried the draft brews and was pleased with the beer.
google avatar

Lucy W. H.

Yelp
Monday is schnitzel day and it comes out fast because it is limp and cold. Fries cold and over cooked (dry) too. Salad is sitting in a pool of dressing. The beer and pretzel good. But I had water. Beer is cheaper than water. Our waitress disappeared after dropping off dishes.
google avatar

Tom B.

Yelp
For an airport restaurant I'd say, not so bad yet expensive. We had lunch and the staff was very attentive and helpful. Starting with beers we went on to order burgers. I had the "NTH" with Potato Fries. The burger was large, well prepared and delicious...the fries as well. My dining partner had the Henne (chicken) burger and enjoyed it too. The atmosphere is a quasi beer garden and a bit kitschy, but hey it's Munich.
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
German restaurant that you have to go at the perfect time because the place can get really crowded. This means really long wait times! I got the putenschnitzel which was very different. FYI, it's not fried! I did not know this before I ordered. It tasted ok but because I'm used to fried it's something that I never need again. The service was normal for European restaurants. They took forever to take our order, bring the food, and give the bill. But again, I went on a crowded day.

Charles D.

Yelp
The service was good, the beer was especially good and tasty and the food was outstanding. Prices are very reasonable also
google avatar

Bill T.

Yelp
Food was okay. Service took forever! Literally, I'm still waiting for my food. Seriously, the staff was nice but it did take awhile to get my currywurst. I loved the little potato wedges I got with the wurst. The wurst itself was not the best but I liked the spicy curry sauce. It could have been much spicier though, although the lady I sat beside on the plane flying back to the States was probably glad that it wasn't. This place has it's issues, but it's better than every single restaurant in LaGuardia, I'll tell you that.
google avatar

Marla P.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Caesar salad with beef strips. Fresh, tasty and generous - just the thing if you're between flights or thinking you may just skip the on-board meal offerings... (Don't try to bring your trolley in here though)
google avatar

Sami K.

Yelp
Guys, get a grip! I walked in at 10am. Was told there's no breakfast, I said fine. Tried to order a burger, was told no burgers until 12. So I had a pretzel and a beer. You'd think that at an airport they'd understand that people fly in from different time zones and might feel hungry. Well, not here. It's german times. Only!
google avatar

Nandanie S.

Yelp
Oh yeah Oktoberfest! My friend and I had a 6 hour layover in Munich during Oktoberfest, and the natural thing to do is find some steins and board our connecting flight. We walked around and saw this place. We weren't hungry, and wanted to at least have a pint while in Germany. When in Munich, right? Menu was simple and the service was awesome. The waiter sat us down at a hightop, and we got some menus. I can't remember his name, but he was very nice. He recommended the FliegerQuell when I mentioned that I like hoppy beers. And it was a good recommendation! Hoppy, but smooth. I love IPAs, and this was perfect. Thanks Airbrau, for making us feel welcome in Munich :)
google avatar

Pam C.

Yelp
Best Breakfast Ever! Damn the Germans know how to cook up a good breakfast. I was extremely hungry from my flight from Athens and I was glad to have a stop in Munich. I researched about the best restaurants in the Airport and found Airbrau to have the best reviews. My GF and I went in during 10am and all they had for food was breakfast. I am a breakfast/brunch whore so I was damn glad I was able to try a traditional Bavarian Breakfast. I got the Sunnyside up egg over toast and canadian ham with sprinkled chives and a pint of Radler Beer. Yes folks.. this Pamdabear was drinking beer at 10am in the morning. The prices were amazing.. I think I paid a total of 10 euros for my meal.. I wished I had more room for a pretzel..but I'm hoping to go back to Munich just so I can brunch here again and explore the city when I actually could stay in the city. I loved how all the servers here are in the traditional bavarian outfits, it makes it feel like OctoberFest everyday!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
A brewery inside the airport, that's simply Munich. I had their Helles (for just EUR 2.75 for 0.5 L) which was really good. Great place for a good beer before or after a flight.
google avatar

Char B.

Yelp
If you are flying through Germany and need your Bavarian fix go here! It was recommended to me by locals and I sought it out during our 3 hour layover. Airport food heaven. There is a variety of dishes to chose including healthy salads - something for everyone. We ordered a pork dish with cabbage, Semmelknödel and Kartoffelknödel. No better way to wash it down than a cold weiss bier. It was a heavy meal prior to a 12hr flight but I slept like a baby on the plane. 100% satisfaction.
google avatar

Soleil S.

Yelp
Airbrau has 4 locations throughout Munich airport and thank goodness... this must be one of the best meals I've had in an airport in a long long time. When I arrived to Munich, I was in search of real food as my food offering on the airline was barely edible. I only had 45 minutes after clearing security and I was left wondering where to go on level 5 of the Terminal 2 international departure area. For starters, the airport is amazing, clean, efficient, and pleasant. Airbrau is no different. With super quick efficient and pleasant service, I had a wonderfully cooked meal within minutes and in time for me to feel satisfied as I transferred from one gate to the next. I arrived a little after 10 am and I recalled a colleague telling me that Airbrau has really good food. I quickly walked towards the map and it was nearby to my relief. It's a bar that has an indoor open 'patio' area that allows patrons to sit and relax between flights. The staff was smiling and greeted me warmly. I asked if they were able to make a dish quickly as I didn't have too much time and the answer was a smile and the words 'of course!'. The menu quickly arrived and it was filled with many options of the Barvarian cuisine. There were tempting options of meats, sausages, and beer but I tried to keep it semi light during my travels. I opted for the pan seared trout with a side salad. In about 5 minutes, I had a wonderful plate filled with salad and a very large portion of freshly made trout. The trout was pleasantly good... nice crisp sear, moist, and not a single 'fishy' smell. This was true restaurant quality! The salad was plentiful and had a nice dressing that wasn't too heavy. I did pay 16 euros for it but I honestly believe it was worth the price. I also got a coffee and it came with all the various types of milks and sugars without being asked... it even came with a wrapped biscuit! If I ever have to go through Europe again, I will actually purposely try to go through Munich again. In addition to being one of the best laid out and run airports, Airbrau has made me a believer that airports can have good food that is worth the price.
google avatar

Kathy L.

Yelp
If you wanna grab some decent food I the airport then here is the place you should check it out. It opens late until 1am but kitchen closes at 11pm. I tried following stuff: 1. Bavarian style sausage salad - really good with pickle inside 2. 1/2 grilled knuckle of pork - kind of greasy but still good 3. Salmon with asparagus- I told the server I want my salmon more rare but it was still over cooked. Overall it was a good place to dine in the airport.
google avatar

Drew O.

Yelp
I always enjoy coming to Germany for work so it's hard to be critical about their cuisine. The pretzels were on point. My turkey cutlet was super juicy and the gravy was excellent. The spaetzle was very below average. My colleague said the pork knuckle was very good, just super filling. The pretzel dumpling wasn't great he said. The local brewed lager was excellent.
google avatar

Daniel K.

Yelp
An outdoor beer hall in an airport. Pretty cool for what it is. Certainly not the best beer hall in Munich and food and service could use improvement, but the beer is good and it makes Munich the best airport to layover in Europe.
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
Pretzels and beer before your flight. What more could you want. Huge open seating area and beautiful outdoor sense even though it is mildly enclosed. The service all speaks English and German and other stuff too. It is one of the most peaceful and wonderful places on Earth,

sandy s.

Yelp
We were staying at the Hilton-Munich Airport. Went for a walk and stOpped to have an early dinner. The bottle of wine for 23 euros was a good value. I had the 6 sausages in a delicious brown gravy with sauer Kraut that was delicious. Grandmas speatzle in cheese sauce was a sauce like on Mac and cheese -instead of the traditional fried in butter. And they were served barely warm. No mustard was included for sausage or Pretzel :(. My husband had the duck-one of them was tender and tasty, the other piece was toO tough to cut. It was left behind. Probably don't need a return trip.
