Airds Hotel & Restaurant (Port Appin, UK) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Airds Hotel & Restaurant sits at a quaint crossroads in the tiny hamlet of Port Appin, in Scotland’s western highlands. It’s exceedingly private, surrounded by peaceful terrain consisting of rugged mountains cascading into Loch Linnhe — and being practically dockside, the hotel enjoys enviable views on all sides. Its 11 rooms and suites come individually decorated, though all share an upscale country-house aesthetic with handsome wood furnishings and floral wallpaper. The West Coast Kitchen serves locally sourced Scottish fare and the lounge features afternnon tea." - Tablet Hotels

Stunning location. So peaceful and calm. Beautiful surroundings and an easy walk to the Port. We loved our stay. From the minute we arrived Caty greeted us with all the information we needed. We were shown to our room (10) which was on the ground floor with a small garden area and the location was perfect for our dogs and getting to the car park. The room was huge, immaculately clean and the bed was super comfortable. We ate breakfast both mornings of our stay - great selection and very tasty. Zsolt was a wonderful server, nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the hotel on our first night, I had mussels and my husband had a burger. The food was beautifully presented and tasted divine. Husband is a keen cyclist and was impressed with the quality and quantity of cycle paths in the locality. I too was impressed with the wonderful dog walks. We will definitely return.

Wow, wow — what an incredible place! This hotel is simply perfect in every way. The moment you arrive, you’re wrapped in relaxation. The location is absolutely stunning, the staff are beyond fantastic, and the food is nothing short of exquisite. The rooms are beautifully presented, super comfortable, and give that real home-from-home feeling. You’re welcomed so warmly, and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for the team. And for fellow dog lovers — this place truly gets it. Not many hotels offer such thoughtful dog-friendly AND non-dog dining options. From cozy blankets and welcome doggy treats on arrival to amazing walks right on the doorstep, every detail is considered. You even have a choice of where you want to dine depending on your dog’s vibe — a rare and lovely touch. So whether you’re a dog lover or not, anyone can enjoy the charm, comfort, and exceptional hospitality that Airds has to offer. Special mention to Julie, Fiona, the chefs, and the entire team — they are an absolute credit to Katie (the General Manager) and make the experience so memorable. There are plenty of comfy sofas to sink into with a drink, soak up the views, and just breathe. This was our second visit, and it definitely won’t be our last. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough — a true gem on the west coast. 🐾🌊🍽️✨

Friendly. Our room was great and we spent a lot of time looking out of the window, the view being one of the outstanding aspects. The other was the memorable staff… ||Nice breakfast. Popular with older foreign tourists. Evening meal a bit more expensive than we would prefer but good. Bill shows VAT and service added. ||There is a great walk you can do round the headland. So good we did it twice in one day. ||If you face front remember to pull curtains fully.

Exceptionally great hotel!❤️ Beautifully modern simplicity design. Extremely clean, fresh smelling everywhere. Clean fresh smelling towels everyday. Room & bathroom was spacious enough for us 2O.It was very accommodating to my special requests, since I was there for 5 days & needed my tea done in a certain way. Grateful for her 🥰 Perfect location ,easy to get around basically everywhere. 5 star review is well deserved.

I initially thought the hotel looked nice, then I read the testimony from people here explaining how they pay for fake reviews. I can't believe that this business is still allowed to be on here in spite of all the photo evidence that people have uploaded to show that they fake the reviews! I would never visit a place like this. Quite apart from the fact that their real rating without fake reviews would probably be well below 4 stars, I would never want to support such an unethical business!

We really enjoyed our four day stay at Airds. The location is just beautiful, we loved the garden walk down to the shore, our room was so comfortable, smart and well equipped (love the small touches like a clothes brush!). Food is excellent, fresh and served in a charming dining room. And the staff, super friendly, accommodating and helpful. We felt at home and look forward to coming back.

I’ve stayed in this hotel a few times in the past but hadn’t had the opportunity to come to Scotland recently. I booked and paid in full a few weeks earlier for a couple of nights in August. I know this is peak season. |To my horror a couple of days before I was due to arrive they sent me a matter of fact note cancelling and offering to credit my payment. It was almost impossible to find anywhere else to stay and they would have known this. The apology didn’t begin to match the inconvenience and quite frankly I don’t think they really cared. The receptionist claimed they had the builders in but I noticed rooms were available before and after and it seemed to be running as normal.|They then proceeded to send me further emails and enquiring whether I wanted to have dinner on the first night. I was then sent a welcome note on the day I should have arrived and then sent another email after my dates to see whether I enjoyed my visit. Unbelievably incompetent.|Thank you to the management for totally spoiling a 600 mile journey to your hotel.

Yelp
The Airds Hotel's afternoon tea gets my vote because they offer two extremely scenic views for their sittings. My family and I had been making an extreme road trip around Scotland and were stopping in Creag Mohr. This was a relatively short drive up the road and well worth it! You may sit indoors or outdoors. The indoor seating could have been in a number of beautifully decorated rooms that were reminiscent of old libraries and afternoon parlors. The outside garden seating overlooked the beautiful Port Appin and was close to Castle Stalker. (Get your cameras ready!) The food itself was really only ok as far as I was concerned. It was a lot of food and quite heavy. One of my road trippers got a little sick (not sure if it was a combination of driving, fatigue, and food). Still, the rest of us enjoyed the fresh air, the gorgeous grounds, and the respite that was offered. I would caution my possibly obese or handicapped fellow Americans here in that the bathrooms were upstairs. It might take significant effort to make your way up there, and there is only one stall for both genders to share, as I recall.
