Yelp
Airfield Trust. A little gem on the south side of the city that many seem to have yet discover.
The grounds (which you pay to enter but I would not begrudge that at all) has farm animals, a vintage car house, a sculpted garden, an unsculpted garden, some cheeky but friendly goats and vegetable patches. They do school days, talks, classes (for children and adults), in winter they have a Green Santa and in summer the occasional music event. Its a great place to bring young children to explore nature and see the animals (chickens, goats, pigs, ducks, etc).
The house is free to enter, thats where the cafe is. This is a lovely place to bring an aunt for coffee and cake however It may be pricey if your a family on a budget. Just bring a picnic and eat in the picnic area instead (which is in the grounds).
Over all I really like what The Airfield Trust have being working to achieve here and I would recommend exploring the grounds for yourself.
