Airport Gateway Hotel & Motel Christchurch

The 2-floor unit had 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths and total of 1 king bed, 1 queen bed and 3 twin beds. The bathroom had all toiletries. The kitchenette came with a full gas range, full fridge, microwave and utensils. The living room was very cozy. Overall, this made our stay very comfortable. They provided a complimentary bottle of milk. Their shuttle service was noteworthy in that they picked us up and dropped us off to the airport for no additional charges. The hotel parking is a paid parking. Their staff at the reception and shuttle drivers were all very helpful and friendly. I recommend and would return.

The hotel itself is well located and the restaurant’s food is excellent. However, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you really need to and can’t find anything else at the last minute. The room leaves a lot to be desired, and I believe they need to renovate everything. The bathroom is very old, and the shower is quite bad. I’m not someone who cares about luxury or anything fancy in a hotel, but in my opinion, at the very least, the shower should be clean and the space should allow you to relax and enjoy a good bath. The cleanliness of the room also left something to be desired. There was an unpleasant odor, as if the place had been closed up for months. The fridge in my unit had black tape on the door to act as “shelves,” since the original dividers were no longer there. Overall, everyone who assisted us—from the reception staff during check-in to the restaurant team—was very attentive and helpful. They just really need to improve the rooms and the cleanliness. I would give 2.5 star

i’ve stayed in many places and this is definitely top 3. stayed in a ‘Business’ room, and it had everything i needed. it was my first time in christchurch, the top notch service and hospitality by all the team was overwhelming, including the receptionists, shuttle drivers & restaurant/bar staff. took 4 trips a day between the motel & airport for work, and we never had to wait long times for the shuttle to arrive. 10/10, would recommend. i’ll be back

Collected us at short notice. And arranged a drop off for us as well well after check out time. Staff were super friendly. Room was ultra clean and serviced daily. Portacot was welcome! Amazingly large tv for watching the cricket. Restaurant was great for both dinner and breakfast. Can recommend the mushrooms on toast! Thanks for a great stay guys. Will definitely be staying again.

We stayed here twice recently on our way in and out of NZ. The service was amazing. Each person we spoke with was friendly and helpful. The woman who works the night shift and does the shuttle runs in particular was incredible. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There’s an onsite restaurant and playground. The shuttle service was very much appreciated as we had one of the last flights in and first flights out. We would definitely stay here again.

Always amazing service. They are so helpful, they delivered food to our room ready for when we arrived. Picked us up from airport, helped with bags and storage. Polite and friendly. I love this hotel

Really great service,. staff were super friendly. Rooms were fantastic, had everything we needed. Clean and tidy. Would happily stay here again and will be recommending it to other people. Restaurant was a great also ( good quality )

Could not fault our 2 night stay. Efficient shuttle service (5 mins from airport) & fast checkin. Shown to our room & while a little dated was large, comfortable, clean, warm & fully self contained. We ate at the restaurant both nights - food was divine & plentiful. Nice outdoor area too. All staff were absolutely lovely.
