Delicious vegan food. You could only order a set menu but we were pretty happy with it. Just sad that we got here too late so couldn’t try their cake desserts but we had the red bean dessert which was delicious too. Will come back in the future

Hip place with locally grown foods that complimented the artsy-ness of the island.
The brown rice is grown locally and fermented for a few days to become macrobiotic. It was very tasty and I wouldn’t have known it was fermented if not for the sign. Our miso soup was a unique regional brew. Regional sides also included sweet beans and candied seaweed. Lastly, we ordered the olive soda made from olives grown at a nearby island.
We were both very full by the end of our meal with the medium-sized rice, despite skipping breakfast before lunch.
Local artists sold their crafts at this store, which could make for good unique souvenirs. The owners were committed to sustainability and encouraged customers to leave their naoshima maps in a corner for the store for others to reuse.

Delicious vegan lunch menu set for only 1000yens. We came around 11:30 without reservation.
Loved the aged organic brown rice.

Delicious, thoughtful, vegetarian food served with love in a cosy atmosphere. The rice balls and green tea cake are both excellent. Some of the seating is on tatami mats, and there is an outlook to a pretty courtyard. You can also buy postcards by a wonderful young artist, Mimi. Highly recommend visiting this unique spot for lunch! 5/5!

It’s a lovely building and staff are very warm and welcoming, plus my super healthy lunch was delicious! The brown rice is cooked and then kept warm over 3-4 days and occasionally stirred, bringing out the vitamin B and other goodness that makes it taste so soft and delicious. I’m definitely going back the next time I visit Naoshima.

Not too bad for the food and the rustic ambience. Assortment of beans, cereals, nuts, and vegetables give distinct textures and flavours. Friendly services. The background music is kinda funky and definitely not for carnivores.

This cafe is easy to find and for vegan and vegetarian customers it’s worth the visit. At the time of our visit, there was only the lunch set available.
There are four 4-person tables on the tatami mat, a large center table with benches, and a smaller bar seating area as well.
There is a small area with local crafts that you can peruse while you wait for your food.
The atmosphere is rustic and feels like a traditional rural home in Japan.
As others have mentioned, the rice is chewy and filling. The balance of the food is really well done. The M size amount of rice is just enough but it’s nice to be asked how much rice a customer wants.
I think the staff was stressed as he was the only one cooking, taking orders, and attending to customers. So, the wait may be a bit long but the delicious food was definitely worth it.

Loved this place a lot!! Once of the best meals I’ve had in Japan and definitely on Naoshima. The service is friendly and the restaurant is cosy. I got the lunch set which is only 1000 yen and a green tea cake which was 400. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into the meal. The rice in particular is amazing. A super healthy, filling and delicious meal. Can’t fault it.
