Aitchison College

A prestigious boys educational institutions, that was established in the year 1886 by the British Government. Till date this is an exclusive educational institution of the highest standards in Pakistan. The college contains a lot of history as almost all renowned scholars, educationists, industrialists, and politicians of Pakistan have studied here. The architecture is wonderful and both old and new buildings follow the same red brick theme. The college has a very large area right in the center of Lahore city. The place is not open to public and can be visited by invitation only. If the opportunity is available this is one of the must visit historical buildings of Lahore.

It was the founder's Day Art exhibition in the old building . The exhibition was beautifully curated. Junior school was on the left side of the porch, and seniors old boys' work was in the central hall . There were some very distinguished artists' paintings were on display like Salman Toor , and many others

When Aitchison was founded in 1886, its emphasis was on educating the 'princely elites.' Since Independence this has given way to an egalitarian mix of pupils drawn from all parts of the country. Cambridge curriculum is taught in junior and prep schools, with the additional option of Aga Khan Matric and FSc in senior. Aitchison College offers a broad and challenging educational program for boarding and day students, based on the added benefits of engagement in sports, clubs and societies. There are currently seven boarding houses at Aitchison, with a further two under construction opening in 2023 and 2024. Houses have excellent facilities including their own dining halls, prep rooms and common rooms. Each house displays its history in photographs and trophies, marking the achievements of boys throughout our history. The original and true experience of an Aitchisonian still resides in the boarding experience.

History of Aitchison goes back to 1886 during the Rule of British Empire. It was primarily eastablished to educate Sons of Nawabs and Sardars English ways, starting from 1 building with 5 students, and now more than 3000 competitive students of K1( class one ) to H2[intermediate/A-Level) from all parts of Pakistan. It is Among Top 5 colleges in whole Southern Asia with sports facilities, co-circular activities , boarding facilities and quality education. Historical buildings of this heritage school are beautiful. Not accessible to the public. You can only visit if you have permission to use a visiting card or if you're with a student.

Aitchison College is situated on the Mall Road in the heart of Lahore, shouldering Lahore Canal on one side and Mayo Gardens on the other. Formed in 1886, it is often known as the "Eton of Pakistan". And elite school for the elite of Pakistan, the school is like a British enclave. However, for tourism purposes it is not a destination. Due to the security situation in Pakistan, entrance in the premises is very difficult even for the alumni. So this should be off-the-cards for a tourist. Aitchison college is one of Pakistan’s largest schools. The campus is huge with lush green lawns. Not open for general public, but you can visit if you have a child that studies there; granted you have the access sticker on your car. This school has been a mentor for many notable figures and politicians e.g. Imran Khan, Farooq Leghari, Yousaf Salahuddin, Amazon Sadiq and many more.......

Aitchison College is perhaps the best school in Pakistan. The campus was designed by Bhai Ram Singh and built by Ganga Ram, an important leading architect of that time. A lot of famous people (such as Sardar Farooq Ahmad Khan Leghari, Imran Khan, Malik Feroz Khan Noon, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq) graduated from this magnificant college. You can visit the campus with a special permission.
