Located pretty close to the Aizuwakamatsu JR train station, which is one of the attraction. Overall the hotel/room seems to be slightly old but clean. The room is comfortable and I had good 2 night sleep! Would be great if there's a water cooler/water dispenser (for hot summer days!)

Male solo traveler from Mexico. There are no many hotel options to choose from when staying in Aizuwakamatsu, so I chose Washing Hotel due to its convenient location near to the JR station and because of it's restaurant good reviews... I was not disappointed. In relation to other reviews, yes the building and the rooms look kinda dated... But, in my opinion, that's just the whole vibe of the city; it seems like it's stuck in time. When it comes to its location, it's perfect: 5 minute walk from JR Aizuwakamatsu, 2 minute walk from the nearest konbini (7-Eleven), 5 minute walk from the nearest supermarket (Lion D'Or... I think that is the name hehe). On a different note, the room I was assigned with, was in the smaller side, in comparison to the other hotels I stayed in Japan, however, that was not a problem for a solo traveler. Also, I had a great view and I could see Aizu Tsurugajo Castle in the distance from my room. I would say that my stay in Aizuwakamatsu, was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan, and I was certainly not expecting it. Foreign tourists can be counted down with your fingers, it's a very calm and laid back city but it does hold a lot of history, which can be felt. In addition to that, the hotel's restaurant was amazing both for dinner and breakfast. At dinner, I had one of the best services in all of my trip and the steak was on point and truly delicious. Its breakfast buffet, has a lot of options, western and japanese, and you can enjoy lovely views from the city while eating. I'm very sorry to say that I did not ask the name of the lovely lady at Reception that checked me in, but I was greatly surprised by her Omotenashi. Yes, she spoke English but not a lot... However, it was not an impediment, since we both tried and were able to communicate using a translator app. If staying in Aizuwakamatsu another time, I would definitely chose Washing Hotel again.

Overall it felt like a standard business hotel no frills. It was comfortable but the room was a little run down. Only complaint is that there was mold everywhere in the bathroom and the ventilation didn’t work (explains the mold).

While listing as walking distance from the aizu-wakamatsu station, it could not be sighted from the exit of the station. As usual, a kind japanese staff at the bus terminal showed us the way. The hotel is hidden by another tall building. The hotel is hidden behind the Tokio Marine building. It's about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the station. If you have large luggages, it's a tough walk as the road leading to the hotel is rough and you need to negotiate 2 traffic lights. It's a fairly old hotel. On checking in, we were told that due to maintenance there will be no electricity until past 4 pm. Room is small and could barely fit 2 large suitcases. Breakfast was just adequate. However, there are not many other hotels in Aizuwakamatsu near the station

The receptionist Oono was super rude. She just threw the luggage at you without saying anything. But she was a complete different person to the locals. She should not work in hotel if she doesn’t like foreigners. The toilet and bathroom were extremely smelly. The smell was coming from the mould underneath the sink. The toilet was not well ventilated. It was not clean as some of the comments describe.

The rooms were old and had no AC. The Wifi was weak. THERE WAS A COCKROACH IN MY ROOM!! I will never stay here again. Plenty of other hotels in the area.

The hotel room was fine and big enough for us with our large rucksacks. It was clean and we were able to both shower then fill the bath for a soak each evening. They have bath salts on the front desk you can take freely. We got a good nights sleep. We didn't book breakfast but we went for breakfast and added the charge to our room. It was a full buffet breakfast and all was delicious. The views from the restaurant are very pleasant. The location is great being nearby the Train Station and for sightseeing. We booked this place as it was easy and having traveled from Goshogawara. We wanted a place we could get to quickly. Although the hotel is likely classed as a business hotel it didn't feel like one. It didn't feel like a hotel-hotel either. Nor a luxury hotel. Something felt odd about it. Maybe they focus heavily on getting people in for weddings/events.

I stayed overnight in a very compact but also very practical room with everything I needed. The space was well-designed with a good-sized desk which had three powerpoints above it (yay! doesn't happen everywhere), so easy to plug in tablet and accessories, and also charge phone and camera battery. Small fridge and tv, humidifier, electric jug, nighshirt and complimentary slilppers. Lovely ceramic tea mugs. I did find the waste bins a little small (no recycling but that's often the case in Japanese hotels). Wi fi worked well, and there was a radio. The comfortable bed had a nice flat pillow and lighting console conveniently placed. The bathroom was small but there was a good deep bath. Interesting city and mountain views from the room. The hotel lobby was attractively decorated. The location was conveniently close to the JR Station as well as eateries and some shops. Good value, and would stay again.
