Ajijic Tango is a wonderful place to enjoy a great meal 🥩🥩 in a beautiful and welcoming setting. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced, great quality without breaking the bank. What really stands out is the staff: incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The ambiance is charming and cozy, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy with friends or family. Highly recommended if you're in the area!

Google
Ajijic Tango: Lunch Special Steal! Ajijic Tango is a must-visit for an incredible lunch in Ajijic! The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. But the real star? Their lunch special for just 105 pesos is an unbeatable value. You get fantastic quality and generous portions for an amazing price. Highly recommend!

Google
Enjoyed an excellent tasting & prepared 14oz filet mignon steak with mashed sweet potatoes, spinach salad, bread, & glass of wine. Too much for one meal so had a nice lunch the next day. Service was on point & location is end of the malecon so you get views of the lake.

Our first visit to Guadalajara, friends took us to Ajijic and Lake Chapala, a short drive from the city. Well worth the drive. We stopped in for a quick early dinner, delicious. A tamarindo margarita, grilled provoleta, grilled sweet breads, salmon raviolis and a skirt steak blue salad. What a treat! Good atmosphere and service.

Google
The wait staff is very professional. The Lunch Specials are an excellent value and great tasting. The Lunch Specials are now $105 pesos but just as good as when it was $95 pesos.

Google
Was in town 4 days and went three times, that’s my review. That should tell you everything.

Google
Very nice restaurant. A good selection of food and drinks. The food was delicious. The service was very good. One flaw was their washroom sinks. The tap to dispense water to wash your hands was an old and outdated design. All customers have to continuously press on this tap with their dirty hands in order to activate the water to wash their hands. Very unsanitary!

Google
Menu, food, and service all a disappointment. Ordered the zucchini spaghetti which is grouped under "pasta" on their menu. It is not pasta, its zucchini and cheese, I called the waiter, told him I was wanting pasta, and the item was listed under pasta therefore I was due pasta, he could not care less. Insult to injury, the zucchini & cheese was not good.

Yelp
The food here was spectacular. I had been in Mexico for two weeks already and was craving some wider options than the norm and this place definitely didn't disappoint. All the dishes were amazing and the service was phenomenal.

Yelp
Wow , Wow , Wow!! My husband had octopus on some salad, just for starters. In this photo is the Flap steak with mashed potatoes it was the best flank steak I remember as a young child. The best part was the atmosphere very nice view of the lake. Enjoyed this restaurant the first night of our stay in Ajijiic. Best steak house and seafood in the Malcon.

Yelp
Great steaks. Best so far in Lake Chapala Serivice was good as well. Recommend. So close to the Malecon

Yelp
Great food, excellent service. Definitely need to try the octopus Al ajillo and tuna sashimi totally my favorite.

Yelp
Excellent service provided. Frequently asked to refill tea or water. The service was excellent. Beautiful restaurant, 90 peso lunches. Delicious rolls served. One of the best deals pon town. PS-clean Bathrooms

Yelp
I used to love the food at Tango but something has changed. The bread they used to serve before they moved to the end of Colon was excellent! Not so much now. It's hit and miss with the vin

Yelp
This venue offers a wide variety of food, all of which, we've enjoyed. They're busy but service is speedy. The menu says this is a filet for "2" people - it's true! The 2 of us will be eating the leftovers for 2 days!

Yelp
Located just a stone's throw from the lake, my partner, his family, our friends and I can see why this establishment is consistently a top rated restaurant in Ajijic. Upon entering yesterday for dinner, Tango Ajijic itself is very warm with beautiful paintings on the wall, thatched roof and fans. A pretty extensive menu featuring just about anything you could imagine in both English and Spanish. This restaurant employs a small army of wait staff and unfortunately didn't get the name of our server. Complimentary warm rolls started the meal with various condiments such as butter and chimichurri sauce. For appetizers, we started out with various empanadas. For entrees, several salads were ordered, 14 oz Skirt Steak (Arrachera) with pasta, Grilled Provolone Cheese, and Chicken with Alfredo. The salads were excellent, huge portions and would make a great main course for vegetarians. If you've ever had Arrachera (skirt steak), one knows it's supposed to be cooked quickly over high heat, to seal in the flavor and melt the considerable amount of fat. My Arrachera was near that quantity but slightly salty. Good food selection prepared to perfection. A pleasant ambiance and good prices which we can recommend.

Yelp
The octopi was chewy and salty and the bread was stale. The wine was great and so were the staff

Yelp
While visiting Ajijic, we decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The interior is so nice and well maintained. The menu is presented in English and Spanish. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Now, the food needs more flavor. I ordered 1/2 ribs with chimichurri. The ribs were very salty , but my veggies were amazing. Now, the drinks are amazing. I had three vodka martinis, and you can really taste the vodka. Not watered down like in other places. I will definitely visit this place again in the future.

Yelp
This place was recommended by the owner of the AirBNB where I was staying as well as by one of the shopkeepers that I had visited, so I stopped in for lunch. The service was great, super fast and friendly, but the food was just so-so. I really wanted to like the place, and the ambience is amazing, but I was really underwhelmed by the food. Maybe if I went for dinner instead of lunch it would be different.

Yelp
Excellent service! The food was absolutely delicious and worth the money. Large portions. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous. Our server was a super attentive and friendly young man. Great restaurant! I highly recommend. Very reasonably priced! Please tip your servers.

Victor G.

Yelp
Be very careful.... We just left because Yelp said it was open and it wasn't. The restaurant needs or should update the hours and days open. Wasted a trip for nothing. Wanted to celebrate my mom's 80th BDay at a nice Argentinian restaurant. I cannot comment on the actual restaurant. Sad customer. Actually closed Monday Yelp says closed Tuesday.

Yelp
Tourists always want to go here for some reason. Lots of tourists from Guadalajara. We've been a few times and its always mediocre at best.

Yelp
This is one of THE places to go in downtown Ajijic. They cover all the bases (meat, pasta, and seafood) either very well or superbly. Drinks are pretty good too. Do yourself a favor and try to avoid the rush--this place gets crowded (and for good reason).

Cliff B.

Yelp
New management and waiters distracted and socializing amongst themselves. Happy hour crowd absent. Used to be lots of fun.

Kelli S.

Yelp
Ambiance is very classic, warm and comfortable and for being so open, the noise wasn't bad at all. Loved the space and ample sized table. Service was quick, attentive and well versed in quality service--water and soda drink refills without asking, cocktail inquiry when low in glass. Food was excellent- tried a wide variety from smoked octopus appetizer to chicken Alfredo. Loved the location, price point and quality of this spot. Stop in For a nice dinner environment and meal; we wished we had eaten here more!

Yelp
Everything about this place was excellent from the ambiance to the wine to the food to the location. My steak was cooked to perfection and the chocolate mousse was heavenly.

Yelp
A very beautiful evening enjoying great food. Worth stopping by. Everything was perfect and we lingered for our evening. Our server, was very attentive but never hovered. We enjoyed that with them.

Yelp
Service was amazing, first time in this town and it's absolutely beautiful. The food was amazing good flavors and food came out warm. Price Who is very good not over price I had a tomahawk for roughly $40 and it was amazing. I highly recommend this place when you're out in the side of town
google avatar

Slop L.

Yelp
Awful! Absolutely worst steak I have ever had! Steak was disgusting! The manager and head chef were rude! The meat was chewy and raw! Bar staff was nice! But that's all that was good!

G D.

Yelp
One of my favorite lakeside restaurants. Great food, fair prices, attentive service. Plus you can take an after dinner stroll on the beautiful Ajijic malecón just outside their front door. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Although prices are higher at this establishment there is a huge variety to choose from. The service friendly and they moved facing Lake Chapala. The drinks are really good and we have been to this place in the old and new location. We recommend this place.
google avatar

Elizabeth Q.

Yelp
If you came to this beautiful, small and picturesque Ajijic town, you cannot skip this restaurant... isn't expensive, yet a little bit crowded. The food flavor and quality are very good Place is clean, the ambiance is soft and a little bit romantic.

Yelp
Hands down the best restaurant in Ajijic/Chapala. Very professionally ran, trained staff, high quality food and presentation. 5 Star Service From the wait staff (Karla) yo the Managers (Ricardo and David)

Paul M.

Yelp
Stopped late afternoon. Took a long time to get waited on, and food slow to arrive and was "just ok". May try different time of day or evening.

Yvette J. B.

Yelp
Wonderful menu sometimes overwhelming menu. So much good food hard to make a selection. Service was great. Great place to meet friends and enjoy a welcoming atmosphere.
google avatar

Ahmed A.

Yelp
Very nice place. The service is really good. We've ordered the grilled provolone and the Argentinean churrizo as starters and they were delicious. Drinks, we've ordered cocktails, the margaritas were amazing, so as the pina colada. The mojito was not that good though. The "corazón de rib eye" was great. Cooked to perfection. The "arrachera" steak was good. Compared between the two, go for the "rib eye". It was still delicious. We loved the place, the service is really great makes you want to come back for more in this small little town.

Yelp
Tango has always been a good bet for consistency. Wonderful beef and their new location is lovely with the big palapa roof.

Yelp
We could never come to Ajijic without a trip to Ajijic Tango! The food is always outstanding, and the service is great. Very nice!
google avatar

Yelp
Great for for the price. Weekends the wait may be very long. I recommend the rib eye and arrachera steak.

Yelp
I dropped by and ate at an outside table. People smoke out there. So if that's not your thing I suggest you go inside. They start you off with this bread that is fresh and hot and scrumptious. They serve it with Salas's and oil with herbs and butter. Delish. I ordered fettuccine alfredo and a side order of steamed vegetables. It came and it wasn't like Alfredo from the states. I requested pesto and added it with some salsa. Perfect! My side order came and it was all asparagus with canned Parmesan and a cold dressing on the hot asparagus. I thought that's a strange mixed vegetable. If I had known it came with dressing I would of asked for on the side. When the check came it had asparagus for $78 pesos on there. The side veggie was $45 I think. I called the waitress over to explain the difference in what I ordered for future reference. I had her get the menu and showed her what I ordered. She apologized. However I did not ask her to change the check. I just wanted to make sure it didn't happen to someone else.

Yelp
Yes, they salt the meats. This is an Argentinian restaurant. It's probably the best one in town. An amazing meal at an incredibly low price! If you do come here it should be for meat, that's their forte. Usually long lines waiting to get a table but worth it. We had the 24oz filet and the ribeye, both delicious, served with a baked potato. We've eaten at a few places in this small town but this is the one place we'd really like to visit again

Andrea S.

Yelp
IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE OF A PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG DO NOT COME HERE!!! OWNER WILL DISCRIMINATE. tried to have dinner here and I brought my psychiatric service dog with me. They asked me if I had documents and I showed them the letter by my doctor as well as other certified documents and still, the owner said he wasn't going to allow my dog, which by the way, is only 8lbs and came in a leash and vest. I have gone to WAY better restaurants and never had an issue. I felt discriminated due to my condition.

Wendy F.

Yelp
We went here for my daughter's birthday. I was very impressed with the quality of the steaks. My husband ordered the 35 ounce ribeye and it was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and so tender. We ended up with so much food leftover that we used it for tacos the next day. Love this place!

David B.

Yelp
We've been to Tango six times. The first few were good, but they must've had turnover in the kitchen because the last three times the food was terrible. The spinach salad was wilted, the beet salad used to have lots of big pieces of beets but now has only a sprinkling of shredded beets, the stuffed portobello was flavorless, etc. It's a shame because they used to be very good. There are better options in town.

Mercedes O.

Yelp
The steak was good but do not get the spinach salad with goat cheese for your side. They don't wash their spinach, you will get a crunchy surprise...lots of sand!. The waitress tried to convince me that it's the seasoning that crunches like grains of sand...wow. Don't get the baked potato either...they tasted like they were at least a day old...you know dry and hard, like it's been in the fridge for a while. Very disappointed for our choices of sides but more so for the waitress service we received. ("Chloe" or "Chlod" I think her name was).
google avatar

Rich G.

Yelp
Wow, where do I start! We started with dry martinis which were perfect, full to the top, a true meniscus. We ordered the spinach cakes appetizer (I can't remember what they were called on the menu) and they served us 4 HUGE ones, probably made with just spinach, egg and parm cheese. They were so delicious, but make sure not to fill up. The steak for 2 (don't remember the actual name, I blame the martinis) came and was enough for 4 people. It was cooked PERFECTLY, seared on the outside and rare on the side, just the way we ordered it. The service was impeccable with VERY attentive and friendly wait staff that made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant although the place was full. Beautiful venue, great food, great service. This is my new favorite steakhouse.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
Great service and impeccable food. The sweetbreads were amazing tossed with a fresh salad like marinade. Both the Lamb Cordero on the rack and the Park chop with caramelized onion and mashed potatoes were perfect. Finished with a Zolo Malbec.....wonderful.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
My wife and I decided to go during the week to save the weight. Turned out to be a good idea as we walked right in. I had easy breaded tenderloin. It was awesome they made a special brown gravy for me so that I could combine it with mashed potatoes and have a country fried steak. Great ambiance the service was excellent overall highmark's I highly recommend
google avatar

Steve K.

Yelp
This is the best restaurant in Ajijic. The meats are wonderful, mash potatoes to die for, their warm salad (like ratatouille) is excellent. Service is generally attentive. Always welcoming - completely bilingual. Great!
google avatar

Susan T.

Yelp
Fabulous food and steaks The 14oz steak is amazing About 140 pesos and more than you can eat! It's 2.5" thick and cooked to perfection. The green chimichury sauce (green olive oil with herbs) they bring you is the best I have ever tasted and goes great on steak or fish. The grilled cheese appetizer is fabulous as a starter to share . It comes with tomatoes and sweet peppers. The hot rolls they bring with all meals goes great with the 55 peso lunch specials. Lunch specials have to be ordered before 1:30 M - F. Reservations are a must during the week and early arrival a must on the weekends.

Laura G.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants in Ajijic. I highly recommend this place. The food and service was excellent. No doubt we will be back here in the future.
google avatar

Geoffrey S.

Yelp
Don't know why I don't eat here more. Pros: food is always great. Busy attentive waiters are everywhere replacing bread baskets and refilling my drink before I even ask. Dropped your fork? BOOM someone there handing you a new fork. Yes, I said free drink refills. You hear that Adalitas??? Cons: they don't deliver. So I have to pause whatever tv show I'm watching, get off the couch, put pants on, find car keys, and then actually drive there...
google avatar

Marcia F.

Yelp
We were staying nearby and this place was our favorite. The staff is super friendly and the menu was extensive and had lots of healthy sides. I especially enjoyed the salads and the octopus.
google avatar

Heidi H.

Yelp
LOVED THIS PLACE! Great place to go out on a romantic date or even have a nice glass of wine. The octopus here is delicious, both grilled and the one that's marinated in a red sauce. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Madi R.

Yelp
The food and drink here are really good! I'm vegan, so I skipped the bread appetizer, and ordered the penne primavera without butter and fries. It was delicious! For the meat-eaters, the steaks were not cooked enough, but they took them back without a problem. I'd definitely recommend having a reservation if possible! Luckily, we came on a Monday and they were able to seat our party of 7 no problem. This place is awesome!
