AJ's Subs N'Sweets

First the good. The bread they use is amazing, and staff was pleasant. Beyond that, meh. To little meat to justify anywhere close to the price (spent over $25 for two 6 inch subs with simple bag of chips and what amounts to a small-medium drink). We used to own restaurants similar to this concept, and we couldn't justify that price point. Can't afford a 6 inch? They sell a 3 inch sub! Never seen that before. I know, probably for kids...but it is an option I guess if you want to try it. We love to try new restaurants as this town has good places to eat but not a lot of choices, especially for lunch. Was hoping for the best in this place but left disappointed. Though we're unlikely to return, we do wish them luck.

I’ve ordered from here twice now. The bread is great, homemade sauces are amazing, especially the sweet onion. Meatball sub was good, would be nice if it was toasted though. The Italian sub was great! However, I got the grilled chicken sub yesterday. Terrible. It can’t be real chicken. It reminded me of tuna or cat food. I through half of it away. Brunswick stew and potato soup were great. A few little improvements and it’s easily 5 stars.

20 OUT OF 10! best sub i have had in this town since i can remember. 20$ for 2 people WITH CHIPS AND DRINK. not bad AT ALL. may i add the service was great! very communicative, great food. was pretty quick as well. go check them out !!

My steak sub was pretty good, but the Brunswick stew was delicious. You can get a bowl for $5.30. Wished they had bigger bowls!!

Everyone is always yelling to support local businesses and this is a great one to support. Food is great and service was too. People complain about the price but you will pay the same and more going to Subway.

Finally got to try this place i walked in an old lady said “ can I help you “ with the rudest eye roll and attitude I’ve ever seen. Yeah never again. Being rude gets you no where in this town I hope you don’t treat all your customers like this. 0/10

Is this the BEST sub I've ever had??? YES, Yes it is! We live near Monteagle, TN, about 90minutes from Summerville, GA. We were in town for the day an wanted to eat something before heading back home. There were your typical restaurants in the area but we like to try new places if we get the chance to, especially places we've never heard of before. We Googled places to eat and this place came up. It got good reviews so we headed on over. First impression was that it was clean and very well laid out. It has the sandwich shop on one side and is connected to a dessert shop on the other side. The staff on both sides were wonderful. The owner walked past and struck up a conversation and told us a little about the place and how it came to be. It was very interesting. My husband ordered the biggest Italian Sub I've ever seen so we could split it. We ordered it on wheat bread with onion, spinach, tomatoes, x-cheese and sweet peppers (try these sweet peppers on your sub, believe me, it's a game changer). The sandwich was SO big, they had to cut into 4 pieces. When I say it was the best sandwich I've ever had, I'm not exaggerating. The bread is made fresh at the shop and is so soft, fresh and absolutely delicious. The meat and cheeses are sliced fresh to order, that, to me, makes for an outstanding sandwich and it was! Before we left we we went to the dessert side and had the hardest time deciding which ones we were going to take home. We ended up ordering the Heath Cheesecake and the Oreo Cookie Cheesecake (OMG, OMG), these were SO good! You'll be stuffed after eating the sandwich, but do yourself a favor and take home a dessert, whether it's a cheesecake or a Banana Pudding Cookie (yes, they have that) and apparently it's their best seller. My only regret is that now we have to drive 90 minutes into Georgia to eat here. My hope is that they open one up across the boarder so the Tennesseans can experience what a sub shop is supposed to be. Until then, we'll find plenty of reasons to come back to Summerville, it's a great little place to do some shopping.
