AKA Sutton Place

Apartments are minimally outfitted and you will spend the first day buying basic essentials if you plan to stay there for more than than a day. And they know it as the kind staff shares what all you need to get: dishwasher soap, cooking spoons, bowls, paper towels, blender, oven mits, laundry soap, laundry hamper / basket, salt, tin foil, baking sheet / dishes (there is an oven but nothing that you could use for baking in it). There is no decoration as is shown on the hotel provided photos. So you pretty much get an empty apartment with basic furniture. Scratches throughout the place, dirty filters with black stuff; take photos otherwise they will take your security deposit for incidentals that you did not cause. Old furniture, heavily used; not as in photos. Smells accordingly. Mattress heavily used too. Photos posted look like a different building. Probably a few one of these new rooms where people then are encouraged to post here. Most everyone was international and first time visitors. No vent in bathroom which airs out directly to bedroom. Best parts: the pool in the basement and the super nice life guard and the great bar / common room you can sit in and enjoy your drink.

I was incredibly impressed with AKA Sutton Place. The service was exceptional from the moment I arrived, and the staff made me feel like I was the only guest there (shout out to Spencer!) My room was pristine and the amenities were excellent -- I felt right at home. The location is another plus -- prime spot in midtown Manhattan, yet somehow nice and quiet! 10/10 would recommend

We stayed at AKA Sutton Place for 3 months while in New York for medical treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering. We couldn't have asked for a better place to call home during that time. Sheila, in reservations, made booking our suite very easy, she was easy to communicate with responsive to our needs. From the moment we arrived the staff treated us like family.| A special thank you to Anna, Ernie, Francisco, Jamarl, John, Jorge, Noel, and Spencer who were kind, attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and supported. | Our suite was spacious, spotless and well maintained with all of the amenities we needed for an extended stay. It was the perfect combination of comfort, elegance and convenience.|The location was ideal, its a hidden gem in the city. It is close to hospitals, markets & restaurants. Memorial Sloan Kettering has a shuttle stop steps away from the AKA Sutton Place entrance. We enjoyed the peace & charm of AKA Sutton Place while still being just minutes away from all the action and necessities of Midtown Manhattan. We loved taking daily walks around the area including the East River promenade and of course near by Central Park.|Our experience at AKA Sutton Place was exceptional in every way, and we are deeply grateful to the entire team for making our long stay not only manageable, but genuinely comfortable and welcoming. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in need of an extended stay in New York City.

I stayed at AKA Sutton for a month while I was relocating to Manhattan and looking for a year round rental. It’s a great place to stay! All the staff here are truly wonderful: welcoming, helpful, responsive. I liked the neighborhood which is quiet but easily walkable to midtown, proximity to good grocery/health food stores, and enjoyed being able to swim in the pool. The room size is pleasant and livable for an extended stay - a home away from home. But most of all I appreciated the genuine hospitality of the place - it’s in the DNA of AKA culture.

If you are staying in New York for a long stay, dont even think about staying anywhere else. This place has everything you need as does the surrounding neighborhood. The apartment we stayed in was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed in terms of ammenities. What makes this place particularily unique are the people working there. They went above and beyond in making us feel welcome and cared for every single day.

AKA Sutton Place was wonderful. A boutique type Apt/Hotel with all the commodities I needed. I highly recommend AKA Sutton Place.

AKA was exactly what we needed while my husband recovered from surgery. We were close to stores and the hospital. Everything was in walking distance or could be reached by subway (very convenient stations) The front desk service is better than the Four Seasons. They were beyond courteous and made every effort to make our stay trouble free and successful. The closets were beyond generous and the size of the bedrooms and common space was generous. They have a great cable system and we only had one brief internet glich. They had many channels available and I was able to connect the Roku to the televisions with absolutely no problem. Their staff is unusually knowledgeable about everything in the apartment. We could easily live there. The neighborhood is safe and has so many shops and restaurants that it made the stay so easy.|The only complaint we would have is the climate control . The weather was unseasonably warm much of the time. They are on a boiler system and there was no way to cool the apartment down other than stand fans and the windows open. I would have concerns for the summer. The furniture in our apartment was very low and would probably be my only complaint other than the climate control. It looked like Ikea. I would have expected a little different quality, but that was a small thing.
