AKA Times Square

My stay at AKA Times Square was truly exceptional — hands down the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. The staff was absolutely incredible. Every single person went above and beyond to be welcoming, helpful, and genuinely kind. Their professionalism and warmth made the stay feel effortless and special from start to finish. The hotel itself is beautiful — modern, clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Everything felt upscale yet relaxing, which made it the perfect place to unwind after long days in the city. The location could not be better. It’s right in the heart of Times Square, making it easy to see and do everything, yet still felt like a calm retreat. It was an excellent spot for getting downtown and especially perfect for experiencing the New Year’s Eve ball drop without stress. I can’t recommend AKA Times Square enough. Between the outstanding staff, the amazing hotel, and the unbeatable location, this was an unforgettable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to return — this place truly sets the standard for what a hotel should be.

This is a fantastic place to stay. Very well located, a block east of Times Square in the theater district with nearby subway access. The apartment was beautiful, clean, and had everything we needed. All appliances worked and it had a great shower. The daily coffee and pastries were terrific in that we didn’t need to run out first thing in the morning. The gym was adequate and usually empty. The staff was fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here with my husband for 8 nights. Loved the location, convenient to Times Square yet away from the noise. The 1-BR suite was clean and stylish. The bed was comfortable, and it was great having extra space, a kitchen, and washer & dryer. The staff was super responsive! There was a problem with the faucets in the bathroom, and someone came to fix them right away. Some minor drawbacks: There was no space in the bathroom to put our toiletries. The living room sofa (odd-shaped faux leather) was not very comfortable, and the television was too small for the size of the room. The dryer did not work well; it probably needed maintenance. Overall I am happy with our experience and feel the price was worthwhile for a longer stay.

We stayed at AKA Times Square for 7 days. The staff were great specially "Kevin" and Cesar. The cleaning service was excellent too. Location was super convenient. Our stay was during Thanksgiving and we were able to see Macy's Parade from our room. I will definitely stay there again any time I visit NYC!

Great hotel. Great rooms. Very clean. Has a gym. Just a little more expensive than a regular hotel room and we ended up with a 2 bedroom apartment with washer/dryer and kitchen (instead of a 175 sq ft shoebox). We've stayed here 3 times this year and will likely stay here every time we come to NYC. We've stayed here for a few days and we've stayed longer term. Staff is very nice and helpful. I really love this hotel.

We stayed at the AKA Times Square the last week of November, right before Thanksgiving. This is really a good find. Hotels in Manhattan are expensive. We needed two rooms and that was going to be prohibitively expensive. The AKA has two-bedroom apartments so we saved half the amount we would have had to pay at essentially any other hotel. The bathroom was small but we are all family so it was not a problem. There is a full kitchen if you want to cook and there is a refrigerator if you take a bag home from the restaurant and want to heat it up later. The room was quiet, the heating and air conditioning worked, it was well lit and well-maintained. It was clean and comfortable. I have no complaints about our room. The lobby is small which is typical of street-front New York hotels. The staff behind the desk was exceedingly friendly. I do not think I have ever had such a friendly front desk staff that seemed interested in what we were doing that day. On the upper floors there is an adequate gym if you are inclined to work out. There is also morning coffee, tea, pastries, and fruit on the top floor which is a wonderful place to sit and read the paper or look at your phone while having a cup of coffee. The location of the AKA is pretty perfect for a tourist. It is between two successful theaters steps away. It is literally right next-door to Cafe Un Deux Trois which is a solid French restaurant that always seemed to find me a table. There is a nice bar across the street, you are steps away from Times Square, a short walk from Fifth Avenue, MOMA, and all that shopping, and you can take an Uber just about anywhere else. This is an exceptional hotel if you need more than one bedroom and/or you plan to stay for awhile. We will go back.

It was my first visit and I stayed 19 nights. The staff were excellent and the accommodations ample. Everyone including the doormen, concierge, building engineers, and housekeepers were superb. I felt very much at home. It was good to return to a furnished apartment with kitchen and laundry facilities after work instead of a sterile hotel room. I look forward to my next stay.

My stay felt like home. The staff made sure that I had everything I needed. They even made sure that I felt safe, which is important as a female traveler. ||The room was stunning and well-equipped. The bed was very comfortable and great closet space in the bedrooms. My feedback on the room would be to create a small functional space for working at a desk (maybe in the seating nook) and more bathroom storage/countertop space.||Location was perfection. Close to the action but far enough away so you can sleep well. ||Special shout out to the front desk staff for helping me throughout my stay. Calling out two special individuals who went above and beyond and made me feel like a friend: Kevin and Cesar... you are both unforgettable and outstanding humans. ||Thank you for everything. Hope to be back soon!

TIME(S) for an update: I was thankful for the opportunity to travel to NYC earlier this month, and was once again a guest of the AKA Times Square for one week. Our stay at this property was 3/3/24 to 3/10/24. As per my previous review, this property is in close proximity to: 1. Times Square and its various restaurants, shopping, tourist attractions, Broadway Theatres, and many, many touristy souvenir shops. 2. Subway stations at 42nd St. Times Square and 42 St. Bryant Park. Our room was on the 4th floor and was a very similar type to one we booked in 2021. Though a bit smaller, our room amenities included: 1. Full service kitchen complete with refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. A small collection of plates, saucers, glasses, cups, and utensils completed the kitchen set up. 2. In-Suite laundry: washer and dryer available (located in the bathroom. There were 2 closets, 1 adjacent to the bathroom, and the other in the bedroom (which we made very good use of). A small safe was also located in the bedroom closet. The living room set up was quite comfortable, with the couch and coffee table facing the flat screen tv. Though I did appreciate the various comforts of the room, I did want to mention: 1. Housekeeping is only once a week: Thursdays 2. The A/C units in the living and bedroom were quite NOISY. I don't know how anyone is expected to get any sleep when the A/C unit sounds like a drill digging up concrete. Hotel Amenities: 1. Fitness Center located on PH1. The "Fitness Center" is a wee bit small; there is only a few cardio machines available and some free weights. 2. Lounge area available for use also on PH1 3. On the upper level of the lounge (take the elevator to PH2, and exit to the right to the TERRACE), there is complimentary coffee, tea, and pastries served 7-11am daily. There are "to go" cups available, fyi. We went up to the lounge for coffee at least three days during our stay (the other days we had coffee in the room). As on our visit in 2021, all the staff we encountered/interacted with were friendly and very welcoming.....especially those at the front desk. We observed the staff were more talkative with us on this visit than on the previous trip. side NOTE: There were a few rainy days in NYC last week, and I appreciated very much that the hotel provided umbrellas for the guests. BOTTOM LINE Another satisfying stay at the AKA Times Square. I appreciated the welcoming and helpful staff at the front desk. The daily complimentary coffee and breakfast pastries was a nice treat.

Cool vibes and excellent bartenders! We met friends visiting from out of town for a drink before we headed to dinner. I had the Pisco Sour. Highly recommend!

Our sanctuary in New York. We've stayed here nine times since 2010. The rooms are ideal for long stays, with kitchen, laundry and room to spread out for that longer stay. Times Square is chaotic, but the location is ideal for the subway. With basically every line available within a 500 metre walk. The staff are always friendly, chatty and willing to help.

Advertised as a residence hotel. However what they don't tell you is that if you stay for their minimum 5 nights you do NOT get a residential room, which caused us much trouble and extra expense. The 3 stars are because the staff was exceptional and helpful. They did everything within their power to help me compensate for the hotel's deficiencies. The 2 missing one were because the room we got (on penthouse level!) was so dark we needed engineer to bring in 3 additional light fixtures. Other things missing: no glasses or cups, no coffeemaker, no microwave, no utensils, no hangers. In fact there was absolutely nothing in the room related to food or cooking. I feel that should have been made clear on their website before we spent close to $3000 for a 5 night stay. Location was unbeatable. Just know what you are getting.

Great location. Lovely hotel. However, it's dark. All four windows in our apartment had zero view or light. I couldn't tell what the weather was like or if it was day or night. Next door is a theater so the building was inches away. The room/ apartment was clean spacious and modern. Full kitchen, dining table, sitting area and two bedrooms. Only one small bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet beside one of the bedrooms. Both had king size beds. Sparse decor but comfortable enough. Safe is located in closet. Four bathrobes and extra towels in closet. No hairdryer! ( thankfully I brought mine with me). Shower head located on ceiling. It drops the water straight down on you. This is a problem for anyone who does not want to get their hair wet. No shower caps provided. Ladies, if you want to save your blowout, bring a large shower cap! Bonus- there is a stackable washer and dryer.

Thank you Aka. This place was absolutely perfect. They greeted us with warm smiles, took our bags and even brought us water. The hotel is a one min walk to time square so location was PERFECT. We stayed in an updated room. We felt comfortable and safe. The hotel room was clean and roomy. When I come back I'll stay here again. Thank you again for the welcome.Thank you to the bellhop who walked with us at 2am to get a taxi. ABOVE AND BEYOND and we appreciate that.

The staff are fantastic. Great attitude. Friendly and warm at all times. On top of it when it comes to information about the workings of the hotel as well as things in the surrounding area. Hotel was beautiful, clean, stylish.

We stayed here during our one wk NYC trip. The bed is located in what I would call the living room which is a large room extending into the kitchen with high end appliances - Sub Zero. It was a pretty cold room, especially in the mornings. Our window faced the street which was pretty bright because of the neon street lights. Fortunately, pull down drapes helped block out more light on top of the blinds. It's quite modern looking with wooden floors, a washer/dryer and an additional room in the back to use as an office area. This is basically a place for companies who send their employees to NYC for extended work stays. A lot of European visitors also stayed here. Aside from the coldness of the rooms, one of our linen closet doors was stuck during most of our stay and wouldn't open until the last couple of days. And the day before we left, one of the light switches in the bathroom wouldn't work so the light stayed on. I reported it to the front desk when we checked out but the desk staff acted as if they've known about these problems, "The door sometimes gets stuck" was the response. "Maid service" was once/wk where someone would basically empty the trash and change our towels, fix the bed. They give you a tiny box of chocolates and a tray of green/red apples in the room when you check in and a tiny box of powder detergent for the washer. We washed our clothes at least 3 times during our stay. Even tho' it was a Bosch washer/dryer, they were not as quiet as I had hoped. The dryer was still loud since we were drying our clothes while trying to sleep, so I had to use earplugs. The furniture was minimal (bed, dining table/chairs, 2 chairs by window with small side table) and not much on the walls, so the room seemed to echo. The kitchen is fully stocked with glasses, dishes, utensils, knives, pots and pans. You barely heard noise from the neighbors but one day while walking to the elevator, we heard a child down the hall proclaim, "I want to go home!" NYC is not a great place to bring kids. On the 2nd floor, there's daily coffee and hot water until around 8PM and another room with 4 Apple computers and a printer for you to use. The one day we used the computers to purchase our tics for Ellis Island, 2 of the mouses wouldn't work. This seems to be a recurrent complaint by a prior Yelper. Next door, is a gym with eliptical machine in front a TV and another room was a treadmill. We didn't really see this gym used very much during our visit but then, we were out most of the time. The front staff is very nice and everyone tries to be helpful with our questions. It's located on an off street, so trying to flag a cab in the evenings during commute hours is much harder than in the AMs. We had to walk 3 blks to a major street to hail a cab to Brooklyn for dinner. Finding a cab to the airport for departure in the AM was much easier.

Not worth your time and money. Won't be staying here ever. Experience could have been better if these 4 issues hadn't occurred. Only 1 elevator worked, really should have notified us before we arrived. No assistance coming in or out with luggage's in hand. Just workers standing around picking and choosing who to help. I wanted a late check out, was a waste of time because they gave us the run around. Called 3 times to ask and they said they'd get back to us and never did. Decided to just check out and as we were checking out they gave us some lie that they tried to call us but our phone was busy? Give me a break! Last one probably isn't their fault. It belongs to QUIK parking across the street for the hotel. I had left $34 in my middle compartment. That was bc I had bought something earlier and left the change in there. When I came back to pick up my car this morning it was gone. No one should have been searching through the car. I didn't know I had to lock and remove everything when leaving my car with the valet. Im only including it here to let AKA know of their partner parking.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough!We stayed at the AKA Times Square over Christmas from 19th to 26th December 2012 on Honeymoon from England. Firstly the location was amazing, it was less than a minute walk to Times Square which added to the whole experience. The hotel is 5 minute walk to Bryant Park, Empire State Building, Radio City and the Rockefeller Centre. The hotel is 2 minutes walk to the nearest subway station in Times Square. The room was clean, spacious and the free wifi was a godsend keeping in touch with everyone back home. The huge bed and pillows were comfortable after a long day of exploring. We were on the 4th floor and we heard some traffic noise outside, this did not keep us awake. The staff were friendly and attentive. There is a subway and a deli store across the road which was useful if you wanted a quick snack. Amazing stay, we would love to stay here again when we come back to New York.

Enjoyed my week stay here, it's a prime spot to be in, walking distance to Times Square, Hells Kitchen , Empire State Building. Friendly and helpful staff. The accommodations were wonderful. Felt right at home. Everything is available in the room. Cooking supplies, towels, comfy bed. Coffee, tea available in the morning.

I had corporate housing for a month here, and it was amazing! Location is amazing, and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. I loved living here. A few people sent cards to me to welcome me and to give me their contact information just in case I needed anything during my stay, and during my stay I needed a non-stick pan. It was delivered same-day to my room and it was awesome. House-cleaning is awesome too; they came by once a week to clean everywhere. I loved staying here. The only downside is it's quite pricey (of course), and during my stay there was only one elevator (out of two). So at times I had to wait up to five minutes, but thankfully that didn't happen too often. Wait time was definitely longer though due to the other elevator being out for maintenance. Would recommend it though!

Hands down the quietest NY room I have ever stayed in. 2BR suite is great for families. Appliances were very nice, helpful to have a kitchen and laundry in the unit. Cesar out front and Angie at the desk were incredible. The service was spectacular. Rooftop lounge area was very nice. Very close to all trains and plenty of restaurants to choose from.

This was beautiful! It is an extended stay hotel right in Times Square on 44th between 6th & 7th. We went for a hotel party on New Years Eve in one of the penthouses and everything from the layout to the decorated interior was luxurious. Looking around the hotel penthouse there was, in addition to a living room, bedroom and kitchen... a mini dining room, a private office and a separate upper level den. HOLY CRAP. There was also a Sony Flat Screen and iPod dock station set up in the living room included in the hotel. Better yet, we were granted rooftop access to see the ball drop at midnight and a ton of confetti fell on the roof for us to dance around in. So beautiful and such a magical moment. The front desk workers, Mike and Greg, were incredibly accommodating and helpful with anything we needed (New Years Eve, everyone needs help!). Love the AKA!

Ok for what we paid I expected so much more we paid for location nothing else good about this place. Our toilet exploded all over the bathroom floor, there is a door which I think the furnace is behind it leaked had to be fixed twice water was all over the floor. No bar or restaurant on site which it's printed on the inside of the elevators. The only thing they give free is coffee but the pots stayed empty. The housekeepers we passed in the halls were nice. We spent a lot of money to stay here, my son was home from the military we splurged because we were having a family vacation again. My husband choose this place, I would've never. I like free breakfast & amenities when we spend $3500. The " apartment" was small nothing like advertised online. Such a disappointment. When we walked in the door I was so disappointed. Don't come here! Some serious false advertising

At the heart of Times Square, this AKA location was perfect for my month long stay. Not your typical hotel, AKA have rooms like one bedroom apts, very trendy ones. Each unit has a bedroom--with a king-sized bed and small LCD TV, a study room, and living/dining room with stove, dishwasher, and fridge. Each room also has it's own wireless internet access and washer/dryer combo. The room amenities are definitely sweet. On the top floor, there's a meeting room with access to computers and a gym. The gym has 2 treadmills and stationary bikes, and a set of dumbbells. Pretty much the most basic you can get and still get away with calling it a gym. The service is here is outstanding, anything you want on demand. Big ups to the staff here. I asked for some shampoo and they gave me like 6 bottles in 2 minutes. If only alcohol worked the same way. Although it did not happen to me, my friend Margaret saw a rat in her room but maybe rats just have a thing for her. At AKA, you get the best of both worlds: the great service of a hotel and the spacious comfort of an apt.

Stayed here while traveling for work. It's like having your own mini apartment/flat in the city and my suite had a huge a kitchen, a washer and dryer, and even an extra (smaller) office-like room. All the appliances were modern and the room was very comfortable. You can't beat this location in Times Square. You are in the middle of everything and there is so many things to see, eat, and entertain in walking distance. The managers and staff were so accommodating and welcoming to my team's needs. We never had problems with meetings or for work. The only reason why I gave them 4/5 stars is because it's not cheap if your company isn't taking care of the bill. I wish I could stay at AKA's more often because it's like having your own home while on the job. Also, if you are staying long term and are doing groceries in NY -- since you will more than likely not be driving around the city in a rental car -- most of the major grocery stores nearby can deliver your groceries. That saves you time and effort of carrying your goods a few blocks. But love the AKA in Times Square and also stayed in the one in Philadelphia in Rittenhouse Square which was just as shiek and cozy.

Major points just for the visually jaw-dropping wow factor. This is one of the trendiest and most modern hotels I've ever stayed in. Mounted flat panel TVs, sleek leather furniture, sub-zero fridge, in-unit washer/dryer, just stunning decor all around. It made me feel like a VIP living in a fancy NYC loft. However some serious flaws: 1) The TVs are tiny 20 something inches and they're not in HD. Unheard of in this day in age. 2) The Macs in the business center had issues. Some of the wireless mice had were dysfunctional. Some of the desktops completely froze. 3) Noise pollution from Times Square - little you can do about that but you better bring earplugs. 4) Really awkward toilet position right up against the wall. I remember having to sit at an angle while pooping. Just strange... So bottom line, looks can be deceiving...

This is my fourth time staying here. I love, love, LOVE this place!! Coffee is available on the top floor starting at 6:30 a.m. every morning. Blow dryers are tucked away in the medicine cabinet so as to save shelf space. Stacked washer/dryer combo is a bonus! Full apartment feeling with all the basic amenities you need, and if they're not there, just call the desk and they'll be provided. Staff is warm, friendly, and helpful. You know they're doing something right when you see the same staff year after year. Highly recommend!!

Nice, central location close to Times Square but not right on it. Room(s) were clean, nicely decorated, and spacious. Would be great for an extended stay as really more like an apartment with the kitchen, washer/dryer, and separate office space. Things that were lacking: Tons of street noise, lots of light at night (need heavy drapes to make the rooms darker), and skimpy with the towels. Is it too much to ask for at least two full sized and a hand towel? Also the TV was a little too low and way off center from the bed. Made the viewing angle awkward and the remote function problematic. Nice fitness and business centers, but no room service.

In town on business for a few weeks, my company put me up here. No doubt the AKA Times Square is the perfect place for an extended stay in NYC. The rooms are very spacious, 1BR style apartments (if you were renting this place in Manhattan it would probably cost $2-3K a month or so). Nice flat screen TV, stereo with iPod docking, high-speed internet, a full kitchen with brand new top-of-the-line appliances (a subzero fridge, for example), washer & dryer, a little study, clean bathroom, and a comfortable king bed. It really did feel like home (if only my place were this nice when I lived in the city). The staff here are unbelievably welcoming and completely on point. My internet dropped out & two seconds after I called the front desk they came up to fix it. There was also a billing mix-up, which they hammered out without me having to worry at all. They clearly recognize that most of their guests are very busy while in the city, so they make the stay easy for you. Be warned though: there's construction going on across the street and the noise can be very annoying (I got woken up every morning by a damn jackhammer). But there's nothing the AKA can do about it - so I don't hold it against them. I'd recommend asking for a room on the back of the building for the time being. If you're coming to NYC for a while & can afford the bill - or aren't paying the bill =) - stay here.

This is Crazy Bernies first choice for staying in NYC if I need to be close to Times Square and the theater district. Literally 20 steps to the bright lights. Touristy area but when you stay at an AKA it's like you're a local. Why cram yourself into a tiny 300 foot hotel room when you can live in the city in an apartment sized accommodation for the same price. Catch is you usually have to stay a week or more. The AKA near Central Park is my other favorite in the city.

Elevator was not working, no coffee in the morning, would not recommend this hotel thank you

Our family of four enjoyed a six night stay in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 7th floor. The apartment was at the rear of the building so we did not have views however it was very quiet. From the time we arrived, throughout our stay and at departure all of the staff we dealt with were fantastic. They were always ready with helpful advice and suggestions and we were made to feel very welcome. The apartment was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great quality inclusions and very comfortable. The location cannot be beaten, just a couple of minutes walk to the theatres, restaurants and transport. The AKA Times Square also has the added bonus of a beautiful communal loft and roof terrace that we took advantage of many times throughout our stay. A real treat to sit on the terrace on a warm evening taking in the NY skyline. We cannot recommend the AKA Times Square more highly and would not even consider anywhere else on our next visit to New York.

I had a wonderful experience at AKA Times Square thanks to the help of Devonte and Lisa. They made everything perfect. It is so nice to go to a hotel with lovely pleasant staff. I would definitely would return to AKA despite not being a fan of the Times Square neighborhood, its a bit too crowded for me being a former New Yorker. However, the service was perfect and sometimes that's hard to duplicate if you change hotels.

What was suppose to be a trip of a lifetime turned into a disappointment. We booked this hotel based on reviews and location. Upon arrival, we found out it was not in direct view of the NYE ball drop like they said. I called twice and was told it was. We booked a penthouse room. What a mistake! It didn't look anything like the pictures online. The penthouse we stayed in was small in comparison to the pictures. Also, after a day of shopping we returned to find our room was not cleaned. I had to ask the front desk clerk to have someone clean it and provide fresh towels and water. There isn't a restaurant on the property, which we didn't find out until we arrived. Therefore don't expect room service, other than a bottle of Voss water. After spending close to $3,000 for what we thought would be a fabulous room and view, what a disappointment!!! Next time, we will be staying at New York Marriott Marquis, where we can have all the amenities we thought were at the AKA. Thanks for nothing.

If you're going to NYC for the first time and want to be in the middle of all the craziness, this is a great place to stay, especially if you have a family. My husband and I stayed there in a 2 bedroom apartment with our twin toddlers and we loved it. The service was excellent and I wish I could give them 5 stars but it wasn't a perfect stay. The apartment we stayed in the first night seemed a little worn; the white bathroom tile had black grout in spots and it was very dark with extremely little light. (note to self: do not put white tile and grout in your bathroom shower. It's impossible to keep clean!) AKA moved us on the second day because our heater was broken. What a difference! Our second apartment didn't seem as worn, had more light and seemed to be a bit larger than the first one. The bathroom tile was clean too. No view (from either room) but we weren't expecting that anyway. To make up for the inconvenience of moving rooms, AKA apologized and gave us a voucher for breakfast or lunch. Normally, after a bad first night like that, I would have been negative towards this hotel. But, I have to say, the staff is the star at this property. They chipped away at my negative feelings with consistent good service. All of the staff were warm and friendly, always helping us with the twins when they could. Thanks AKA Times Square!!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days for our honeymoon in October. We arrive around 10:00 at night and were kindly greeted by front desk. It is a boutique hotel with a small lobby. It is located near Times Square, 2 minute walk, and away from all the noise. Perfect location! Our room on the 10th floor was very clean and modern looking with everything we needed; a large refrigerator, microwave, stove with dishes, sink with new sealed dish sponge and dish soap, washer and dryer, laundry detergent, ac/heater, nice large tv, all the necessities! The few times we called the front desk for assistance, like for more laundry detergent, someone came within a few minutes. In the mornings you can go up to the penthouse to make yourself fresh brewed coffee. Up there is also a small workout room, which we never used. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We would Definitely stay here again!!!

Awful hotel. Room was a mess. Towels on the floor at check in. I would advise that you stay clear of this hotel.

We were so pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a hotel in the middle of times square. At first, I was reluctant to bring my two young children into the hustle and bustle of mid-town Manhattan, but the location was perfect, just off the main intersections of Broadway and 7th. The facility itself was perfect. The apartments were large and had plenty of space (at least for Manhattan). The kitchen was perfect - appliances were high-end Bosch and Sub Zero. It even came with in-room washer/dryer, which was key for a traveling family with kids who spill food all over their clothes. The rooms were surprisingly quiet. We were on the 4th floor, and while the main sitting room was a bit noisy due to the street noise, the interior bedroom was quiet and dark enough for my young 2 year old to nap. The service at the hotel was also noteworthy. They were attentive but non-intrusive. Prompt and friendly. I was even beginning to suspect that New Yorkers were a lot less rude than I remembered. Then we went out on the streets and realized that I was wrong. New Yorkers were still rude, but AKA was exceptionally warm and inviting. Truly a wonderful experience, especially for those traveling with small children and families!! Thanks, AKA!

Fancy hotel, great location. Mike at the front desk was extremely helpful. He's a valuable employee I hope he's there next time I'm in town!

Before we do the check in at the 24th of May I called AKA to inform them that me my husband my and my Nanny checking in late and it's a 6 hours flight with an 11 month old baby crying half of the way. I was so exhausted. Unfortunately I have been tracking all my life I have never one complained about any hotel because a 4 star apartment hotel (AKA ) should at least provide you with basic needs, but the first easy thing I would've expected is a handicap entrance for a stroller but only a door man which most of the time he is not at the door !! Bathroom sink was floating the air conditioning was not working No napkin No water The tv remote was not working That is only for the first night. The next day the shower was floating I have to waiting couple a hourse and be late for my appointments just to get a shower And washing machine smells so bad like a swamp. And they don't provide any hotel slippers and they send me a note that they bought it That is so insulting writing a not saying they had to buy it that was not polit at all Not just they didn't get our room ready there servers is so slow and the note they wrote was not polite at all !!! Plus they most of the time they never get back to you when ask them for something. And the 2 of the living room lights died are off! I would not give them even 1 star I have paid over Oh Yeah and their window shades can't be open at all For me this is the worst specially when you have a baby ! Finally they don't even allowed me for a late check out. 2600$ for 5 nights to enjoy my staying this is not what I would've expect specially that I called twice before coming I won't even pay a 100$ OMG this is the worst hotel apartment I've been to in my life.

DO NOT EVER STAY AT ANY AKA PROPERTY IS YOU DONT WANT TO BE ROBBED !!!! Here is my story: We moved from Marriott Essex House because i needed a fully equipped kitchen. we were walk ins. we came to hotel around 13.30, check in time is 15.00 o'clock. we asked the guy at reception to show us what kind of rooms are available. he was kind of friendly asked some questions where are we from and so on, he showed us a studio room and after that, some two bedroom suite. we decided to stay with the studio. came downstair to reception to do the paperwork. we asked if we can leave our wallet in the room safe cause its very valuable to us, he said : why don't you leave it here at reception?, we said: we can't cause it is very important to leave it in the safe. he said: ok, but your luggage will stay here till check in time. we said: ok. tipped the gut and left to take a tour. we did not touch the safe until after two days we needed to take more cash. we getting to the safe, pitting the combination and safe asking is i want to "close" it. pulling the safe door - EMPTY !!! NOTHING IN THERE !!!! WALLET WITH 4500$, PASSPORT, CREDIT CARDS! EVERYTHING WAS GONE!!!! we filed the police report. police came to take a fingerprints and plus found out that safe was attached to the wall only by one screw out of three screws. anyways, after recalling all events and details in our mind, we recall that right next day after our check in the guy who checked us in was acting very weird, like he does not know us, trying to avoid us. i ran into him in the lobby door and he got kind of surprised even scared but not really adequate. i told my husband about the guy's reaction and my husband said:" i noticed the guy acts very weird too. i wanted to say "Hi" to him, he saw me and he turned his back to me" so, we shared the opinions about the guy and forgot about it. and that was it till the next evening, when we found out we got our wallet stolen. we did our own investigation, since Kormans Community (thats the hotels corporate office) did not care. we found out there is NO security department, when i asked to talk to the head of security department. the lady at reception desk, who called herself the hotel manager for that day told us: " we are our own security ourselves for the hotel ", sometimes its her and the bellman, sometimes its just the receptionist, like the guy who checked us in, its depends... The Hotel's representative called us and told we will be reached by hotel's insurance company, but, of course, it never happened. i asked for full refund for my staying, the lady, who called herself the hotel manager, told me on the phone that she will proceed with it and call me back in a couple of hours - she never did. when i called her next day and asked how is refund procedure doing - she told me, she never said she will refund the money for my stay in the hotel and hang up on me. i called the hotel's corporate office - they told me they can not help me and hang up on me too. So, if you want to be robbed, scammed by hotel staff,if you want to screw your vacation, not willing to come back to the city - the place to be is AKA property !!!

love this place. love the location. love the service. the perfect location for long stays. was better from a pricing standpoint when it was a hidden gem. oh well.
