"Postcard Waterfall I call this the "postcard shot." Akaka Falls resides in the appropriately named Akaka Falls State Park, which is just a short car ride from the town of Hilo on the Big Island. Park the car for a small fee (based on the number of passengers and type of vehicle, which is inexpensive no matter what) and you are on your way to this view. The loop trail is a touch shy of half a mile, and while there is a mild grade to it, and some stairs, it's entirely paved and very easy to manage. The entire visit at a leisurely pace takes about 40 minutes. Along the way you'll be greeted by lush tropical foliage, and the sounds of wildlife, as you approach your very own postcard shot."

Spectacular!!! A nice hike to the falls. There are stairs to climb, but totally doable. There is a small admission fee, so bring your credit card. Totally worth it. These falls are beautiful. There was a rainbow in the falls while we were there!

Beautiful falls, but a bit of a nightmare to park. Many tourists and not enough parking. You can get a decent view from just near the parking lot if you are patient. You can also hike up some stairs to get a better view of the falls from the top. I took these pictures from top of stairs.

The waterfall itself is pretty, and it's over 400 feet, so it's not easy to get close to. But the walk/hike to get there was through some excellent rainforest settings. The plants, trees, flowers and birds were so plentiful, colorful, and just thriving! We even saw crawdads in the creek! We saved the parking fee by parking on the road, and not in the parking lot.

Beautiful Falls and short hike to them. Plenty of spots for a picture with the falls. There were three wild adorable cats roaming around which was a good bonus . When I was planning our trip, the parking said $10-$15 however you pay to park as well as per person. Seemed very overpriced for a 10 minute walk.

It’s a short hike make sure you wear right shoes, as you walk it’s amazing it’s like a rain forest. Amazing hike and at the end it’s a small space so it may get crowded we went almost closing time we didn’t see many people it was amazing.

This is a beautiful spot. Worth the stop to photograph. It isn’t really a hike. More like a quick paved loop. It was $22 for two entries and parking. We arrived early and not many were there yet.

Cool waterfall and very short paved hike to go see it. It's definitely not worth paying for... 10$ for parking and 5$ per person for entry. Plenty of other free waterfalls to see in hawaii that look similar.
