We stayed here in October for 2 nights.. and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were super friendly, the spa was beautiful, and the hotel itself is steeped in history. Our room was lovely and comfortable and beautifully decorated. We spent fabulous evenings in the outdoor hot pool relaxing in the cold air.. We will be back

Luxurious spa hotel with excellent food in a lovely, picturesque little Swedish town.

We stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The hotel rooms are outdated; no airco, very outdated bathroom, Windows that hardly can be opened. Wellness is very small (swimmingpool is crowded with old ladies drinking a glass of wine, so swimming is not an option even). We booked the restaurant upfront but when we asked to be seated outside the waiter Marie said this was not possible as “fully booked “. However several tables stayed open the entire evening… We had to take place in a very dark outdated restaurant. Really not pleasant when weather is great outside. Food is ok but overpriced.

Great lunch, but the portions were quite small. I guess that's why they offer the main dish plus the buffet.

Clean, comfortable, great location, quiet, beautiful old buildings and garden, excellent breakfast and wifi, great service, good parking, great spa with heated outside pool! Excellent value!

Fantastic atmosphere with fancy food. We did get the option of "vasaloppet" pasta buffet, since I will do the race but we checked the menu before we made a reservation and we found many things we wanted to try. In short, the tartar was our favorite but everything tasted great. I seldom say that there is too little food and I think prices are a bit low on restaurants these days. Meaning, i think we should pay a bit extra for; chef, waiter, farmer and animal welfare. That being said, I think the dishes (especially main) could be diluted with some cheap carbs. We loved the atmosphere; the building feels old, the smell of wood fire when you enter, cloth on the table, well dressed waiters, lighting. It's spot on cozy.

Pretty cool place! Rooms could be a bit bigger or could be without a huge closet.

This is such a lovely hotel with a charming, genuine atmosphere. The rooms vary a lot in size and equipment. The kitchen serves good-quality, traditional food. Big plus for the gorgeous view over lake Siljan and the fire-heated outdoor spa pool!

Very nice environment, really calm and beautiful countryside with amazing views to stun anyone. Lots of old building between 16-19th century with only building technique. Hotel is pretty but our double rooms 41&42 were really poorly planned with wardrobe blocking when entering, feeling a bit like claustrophobic in the rooms and if you take a shower room gets boiling hot. Paper thin walls, think the guy in room 43 had a sever nightmare yesterday. Smell of cigarette smoke as soon as someone took a break even though windows were close. Best thing with the hotel to avoid a 2 star was that they have a small pretty cozy spa. There's separate saunas and two jacuzzis a baby-pool (I think) and a small 12x4m pool with a water jet for swimming lessons. Breakfast was ok, a little bit better than average. Bartender was going to mix a espresso martini, he just took a hot espresso and a shot vodka and thought well, here you go. safe bet is a local beer or a rhum.
