"Long known as the neighborhood where consumers—both locals and visitors—come for electronics, Akihabara has evolved to include a manga and anime subculture, with anime character models roaming the streets and anime videos playing in stores and restaurants. Retro computer-game fans will not want to miss Super Potato Retro-kan for its selection of vintage and used games."

This station is an absolute blast full of Gachapon and Anime everywhere. Tons of food and restrooms too. Not difficult to navigate.

The real stations are easier than the persona 5 map, was that in Akihabara or Shibuya? Doesn't matter tou shan't get lost in any of them, even if you don't know japanese, god even if you don't know English the maps are that well made, I mean even blind people are just walking around, it really is that good! Also check the video for some interesting thing I can not mention here or I will get banned, sometimes Japan is strange but that's not shibuya's fault

Very good place to visit if you are into anime culture. All of the best-known shops have a branch here but I recommend finding their branches outside of Akihabara. It's just so crowded on weekends and there's a lot of people and tourists on week days as well. The other branches may offer smaller selections but I find them more comfortable to shop in. And all of the things I wanted I found there.

Lovely place. I love the atmosphere. There is always someone doing something special around here. You feel like you're in a movie or an anime. This is one of the places i think everyone should visit before passing away. A lot of people are here, but you'll be here just for a couple of minutes.

The first station that I get out in Tokyo. It was surprised so many electronic goods sold around here. Also they have JR hotel, locker room with coin. Many snacks shop. I feel like I'm in anime world

Busy station. Mostly served JR lines' passengers. The station itself is the getaway to Akihabara, the heaven for gamers, electric fans, maid coffee, manga, anime. Still worth a visit though.

Was here few times. It's a good place if you like anime. They sell tons of merchandises. I suggest you explore at your own time and take your time because there's lots of things to see and explore and it's crowded.

One of the staff at this station had a very bad attitude, disrespectful, rude, and not helpful. He ignored to hearing when I tried to ask for help. I asked him carefully for help with my sister's ticket problem, but he just told me to pay a 150 yen fine for my sister's ticket. He didn't tell me why it happened only my sister's ticket, but they just told me "platform ticket"... not any reasons. Even though I was bought from the same ticket machine at the same time we didn't buy the platform ticket. Then the staff yelled at me and my family while I was asking for help. He just wanted us to GO AWAY! from his eyes. He made me very regretful. His behavior was the most shameful that I had ever met when I was in Japan. I was not offended about the ticket, if it was a mistake I can accept it. but I was disappointed with the staff's behavior toward me and my Family.

Yelp
Very energetic station... I remember years and years ago when it was still under construction which obviously is completed and now I'm confused lol! Once an easy access station to Electric Town now I'm so confused as my confident level plunged when I took the wrong exit so make sure to read which direction you want to go or ask a staff as the walking can be a lot more than you'll realize though I did get much more browsing time it's amazing how huge it is here in Akihabara. Though this station still doesn't disappoint as it's filled with anime at each and every spot, with gachapon, shops filled with cuties and knowing that you don't need to do much stair climbing is a definite plus and as I head back I did like that they had quite a bit of vendors here and took back some snacks for later though it can get extremely crowded here, it's easily accessible by JR Yamanote line making it a fun place to explore. どうもありがとうございます!

Yelp
JR Akihabara is just a perfectly situated train station for tourists who are looking to explore the area. It is in a fairly central area of the busy areas of Akihabara. Right outside the station, there are arcades, electronic stores, cafes (both normal and themed), gaming stores, book stores, convenient stores, anime stores, restaurants, plazas, souvenir shops and more! The station is large but not super large in comparison to other major stations in Tokyo. It is still possible to get lost here but I've generally not been too lost as compared to some of the busier stations. One neat thing about this station is that they often have pretty interesting little pop up shops. On my several visits here throughout the years, I've come across a Mofusand, Your Name, regional foods, and gachapon themed pop up shops as well as many more. Another neat thing is that this station tends to feature more ads related to anime, manga, and video games throughout the station.

Yelp
Just another run-down JR station. Be sure to read the signs before choosing which stairs/elevator to use when heading into Akihabara. The wrong stairs will take you to the wrong side of the station.

Yelp
A very useful station with great signage and easy to get into and out of. Akihabara by itself is a great place to explore and you'll do it first with a stop at this station. They have ticket vending machines and turnstyles the same as other stations. Much of this station is above ground and the extra light makes it much more open and easy to navigate. The station operates for the Keihin-Tohoku Line, Yamanote Line and Chūō-Sōbu Line under JR East, the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and the Tsukuba Express for the Intercity Railway Company. The JR East line, which was the one that I used, has island platforms. There are escalators and elevators. Please follow the traffic arrows when walking on the stairs!

Yelp
I flew right through this station. I was so excited to get to this arcade I heard about that I didn't really look around much. But it was the usual rushing about. Reminded me of back home in NYC.

Yelp
JR AKIHABARA STATION We walked through Akihabara and took this station to get to dinner. It was Sunday, April 10th a little before 8pm. We didn't walk around and explore the station much, but Akihabara itself is a fun place to check out. If you want any electronics or anime, I'd say this would be the place to get it. And if maid cafes are up your alley, definitely stop by since I saw a bunch of girls dressed up as maids trying to get people into their cafes. Looked super fun and very cute. If you have time, stop by and explore their "Electric Town".

Yelp
Another huge station. It is very busy and it seems like all the time! One thing, this is a famous area and district... so it is busy all the time. If you do want to get to the subway part, you have to walk around and maybe a block or 2 away. There is always people outside performing. Tons of food nearby and it is Akihabara! --------------------------------------------------------- One of the lines I used to leave Akihabara is Tsukuba Express!

Yelp
Huge station, as with most stations in Japan but lots of signage it's easy enough to find your way around. We stopped through this station on our way to Akihabara and it was quite busy because of the neighborhood we were visiting. We didn't spend much time in the station but the neighborhood itself is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
This station was super busy, especially at night. We got on at this station after visiting the Akihabara neighborhood (to explore anime shops, electronics city, etc.) and made our way back to our hotel. Many subway / train lines intersect here, and there are eateries very close by. Super central!

Yelp
I recommend visitors to stop by Akihabara JR Station. There's so much to see there and fun to explore around. Many great stores and restaurants.
