AKIHI Bubble Tea

The drinks here aren’t too bad; I’d rate them 6.5/10. However, the chicken and takoyaki are really delicious, and I highly recommend trying the chicken. For drinks, choosing less sugar makes them taste better. The bubble ice cream is also very good, and the service is quite fast, so you don’t have to wait long. Overall, it’s a pretty good experience

I always come here once a week when I finish my last class. I love their variety of options and have tried other teas but I always stick with the mango slush since it tastes so natural. Btw I’m not a huge boba enjoyer and usually ask my boba without any boba (lol Ik like what’s the point of getting boba no boba?) but anyways , the boba they have here does is so good and I have not gone to any other place since I’ve tried it here. I do wish they had more chocolate options but hopefully in the future ! Also sorry for the low quality picture, it’s the only one I really had

I absolutely love Akhi! The environment is incredibly welcoming, and the staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. I highly recommend trying the Super Bowl with brown sugar boba! It tastes amazing and is definitely a must try!

This was my first time here and I was really happy with the quality of the food and the presentation! Absolutely fantastic, went around 11 PM and it was extremely busy seating area is pretty small, but overall good experience at this place would recommend.

Wonderful and kind staff! They helped me pick out my perfect drink! There are so many different non-dairy drink options. 4 self ordering stations! It comes with a beautiful reusable bag! Edit: I had to wait 20 minutes for a $2.75 sausage

This is the best drink a mango slushy And added a vanilla ice cream to it it is the best thing I’ve ever tasted. They did a really good job. Thank you so much. I’m in love with this drink.

I like the indoor decoration. The boba tea was average. Could be improved. Prices are average. Parking could be an issue. Great outdoor area to enjoy if the weather allows. Overall worth trying.

The atmosphere was delightful, the store is very clean, the workers and fast and efficient. The bathroom was also very clean, it’s also futuristic in a way. The food was awesome, I got the takoyaki which is a snack of wheat dough with octopus on the inside and sauce. It was really good, just a little bit savory and very sweet. I would buy it again but I am really looking forward to next week because I’ll get either a waffle with ice cream or the brown sugar ice cream sundae. I do recommend you check out this place. Aside from the food and ice cream they have a lot of drinks and just overall a lot of variety.

Akihi is a chain of boba shops, and this location near Rutgers University offers a spacious atmosphere with large glass windows overlooking a plaza filled with smaller shops. The shop features a self-service kiosk, making it easy to navigate the menu--especially helpful for a first-time visitor. The menu is reasonably priced, offering standard boba flavors along with snacks. I tried the Brown Sugar Brulee, which struck a nice balance--not overly sweet but flavorful. We also sampled the Passionfruit Tea (dubbed the "Fruit Party"), which was refreshing and not too sweet, making it a perfect complement to a heavier meal. Overall, it left a good first impression, and I'd definitely return to explore more of their offerings!

Potted Milk Tea, 30% sugar, less ice, oat milk, boba, and pudding with crispy chicken (get it on the sombrero cup tray if you want to ball out on some peasants?) and takoyaki. Thank me later. So we have definitely gone to the Highland Park location before (literally up the road), however this location on College Ave. was a bit closer and saved us from crossing the bridge/river into the chaos known as Edison. Both the College Ave. and Highland Park spots have a well-kept appearance; the College Ave. location is arguably bigger and therefore had a bigger seating area and arrangement. We decided to give Akihi another go at this location, and were extremely happy with the choices we made this time around. The difference in flavor of the potted milk tea compared to a regular milk tea or oolong milk tea is definitely noticeable. The boba held a perfect consistency - no troubles in this department. The pudding in the potted milk tea was bomb; after having it here, pudding has been on my list of added ingredients to boba drinks with Akihi being the standard. But the food - chef's kiss. There was a generous heap of bonito flakes on our takoyaki gave it a delightful and tasty touch. Meanwhile, the crispy chicken was flavorful and dare I say - moist. Great stop for good quality boba and a quick bite on the go!

Literally LOVEEEEE this place. They have so many options for boba lovers, their crispy chicken is literally chef's kiss and the best part.... THEY STAY OPEN LATE. The perfect go to spot for late night snackers. The prices are very affordable too!

Delicious bubble tea! Very nice place but can get VERY busy especially on a weekend night since it is in the heart of Rutgers. It's a great place to hang out. The workers are very quick so it's never too long of a wait. I love that they are open until 3 am so if we ever want a late night snack we can order from here. - mango slush : 10/10 my husband is obsessed with this drink - royal blueberry peach tea : 10/10 I get it less sweet or else it can be a bit too sweet for my liking. Refreshing drink. - Brown Sugar Brulee : 10/10 so yummy!

Boba was great and the place is convenient for students on campus. The pros: the boba tastes good and it is open past 12am. Cons: It was definitely overpriced comparatively to other boba shops near the area.

The picture of the drink compression to the actual drink is so wrong. This is just all syrup and juice.

Okay honestly I've tried like all the boba places in NYC and was shocked to find one in Jersey that I like more than almost every one in NYC. Maybe it's the Taiwanese chicken in addition to the great boba (what an excellent pairing!) but all their drinks that I've had are excellent, especially the brown sugar brûlée, and all the snacks are great too; I really haven't had anything bad here!

12/31/23 NYE freezing cold outside with everything closed around Rutgers but guess who's opened for Winter Break. Akihi you get my 5 star for being available when it's desperate mode.

Someone stole my drink and the employee making it gave me so much attitude about it. I heard her complaining to her manager about how I should have been more attentive, however I don't see how it is my fault that a stranger came in and took it. As if she expected me to confront the stranger.
