As a Toronto local who loves our vibrant entertainment and dining scene, from top-tier spots to hidden gems, I’ve dined at plenty of high-end places, so my expectations are high. This restaurant had some real highlights, but ultimately fell short of justifying its steep prices.
The ambiance was okay.
The drinks were a highlight. We tried a variety, and every single one was amazing: creative, well-balanced, and perfectly executed.
The food was a mixed bag, but the highs were incredible thanks to top-quality ingredients:
• The tacos were a small bite of heaven: bursting with flavor and perfectly executed.
• The Miso Black Cod was absolutely outstanding: buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the flavors truly popped when paired with the mousse and pepper. One of the best versions I’ve had.
• The Toban Filet Mignon was lovely: tender, juicy, and another melt-in-your-mouth winner.
• The King Crab Fried Rice was full of bold, delicious flavor and easily one of the best things on the menu.
On the downside, the Rock Shrimp was mediocre at best: disappointing and forgettable.
What really elevates the place is the service. The staff was absolutely amazing: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. They made the evening feel special and went above and beyond.
I gave it a solid 4 out of 5 because of the outstanding service, premium ingredients, and those memorable drinks.
However, I deducted a point because nothing truly stood out as a “must-return” experience.
Portions felt small across the board, appetizer size and the pricing is severely overpriced for what you get.
In a city with so many incredible options, the cost simply isn’t justified without reasonable portions, or more wow-factor overall.
