Google
This place has some of the best ramen I’ve eaten. The seaweed fries are so good. My spouse loves the sushi says it’s some of the best they have had. Highly recommend.

We had another fantastic experience at Akira! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We've had the ramen before, and it was absolutely delicious. This time, we decided to try a few different sushi rolls, and they did not disappoint—each one was fresh and full of flavor. The service truly goes above and beyond to make your experience special. Five stars— we'll definitely be back again

Google
Delicious, fast, and friendly service. We were visiting Baltimore MD, while out and about saw Akira Ramen & Izakaya restaurant in a Target run. We were able to get a booth right away. The place is very cozy and inviting. We placed our orders and within a few minutes here they come. Staff is very efficient and the food was delicious! I definitely recommend!💖💖💖

Google
Gyudon was super oily and the waiter gaslit me saying it was the broth. The rice also came out super hard. The ramen was flavorless. The customer service was lacking so much. Wouldn’t recommend.

Google
The gyoza was seared nicely, the vegetable spring rolls had little flavor, the shumai was flavorless and had no texture, the Black Dragon roll was awesome tasting, the Dynamite was basically white rice and tuna and the hot saki was good. The service was adequate.

It's been months since the last time I went there, but from what I remember it was really nice. I mainly just got the Poke Salad and various kinds of sushi though. Never actually had ramen or anything else. Still, it was delicious and the quality was awesome. One thing I would note is that if you get the Poke Salad to go, they put the soy sauce in a container rather than pouring it out into the bottom of the dish. Personally, I don't like that much salt lol. I'm sure you could probably ask them not to do that in the restaurant but if you don't know about it ahead of time... Anyway, the reason I don't go there anymore is just about the price difference between Akira Ramen and Harris Teeter(which is across the parking lot). If you want to go to a fancy Japanese restaurant and have a nice meal, obviously Akira is much better. Their prices aren't bad at all, but they can't compare to a grocery store. Especially not on a Friday, when you can get 10 pieces of spicy tuna roll for 5 dollars at Harris Teeter. The Poke Salad is actually cheaper at Akira Ramen though. Which is something to keep in mind. Even when you add in tip and tax, it's probably still cheaper, unless you're a generous tipper. If you weren't worried about tipping, I think the Poke Salad was 10 dollars the last time I went. Maybe 10.50, probably 11-something with tax. They also sell seaweed salad for 6 dollars, I think? Which is about the same price as Harris Teeter but I haven't compared the sizes. Their Poke Salad is almost only fish and some lettuce, with some tiny apple pieces. Harris Teeter has a bunch of rice, a little seaweed salad, some fish and some artificial crab mixed together in a relatively larger and heavier container. It will fill you up, but I think the ingredients are probably cheaper overall compared to Akira's version. My go-to order from Akira would be a Poke Salad, some type of sushi roll(6 pieces for about 4-6 dollars), and a seaweed salad. I like to mix the three together. The Poke Salad doesn't come with any wasabi, but that might just be because I didn't ask for it due to social anxiety lmao. Seriously, it's so hard for me to ask for stuff like that... But I think a lot of people are that way too. Also I'd be afraid it'd cost extra no matter what I asked for? Maybe other people would know.

Yelp
I highly suggest getting the volcano Ramen if you like spicy. It has chashu pork, a soft, boiled egg, and other components in a Tonkatsu pork broth. I also got the Karaagdon which comes with miso soup. The fried chicken cutlet was crispy. The service was good. We got our food pretty fast. I would say the ambience is more of a fast casual place. They do offer a variety of Asian beers as well. Akira is located in the Canton Crossing shopping center, so there's plenty of parking.

Yelp
Wow! Akira really lives up to their expectations! My boyfriend and I ordered pork gyoza as an appetizer and they were amazing. Great sauce that comes with them. The service was super fast and the wait time for the food was impressive. I got the sliced beef ramen and asked them to make it spicy. Best ramen I've ever had by far. My boyfriend got the Volcano Ramen and it was wonderful too. Highly recommend for a good date night!

Yelp
Really tasty Japanese food! Ordered the karaage ramen, spicy crunchy salmon roll, and katsu curry rice. All were high quality dishes and fairly priced. Don't think you can go wrong with the vast majority of items on the menu. Service was slow on a Thursday evening, as the restaurant was pretty crowded, but the staff were so friendly and were definitely trying their best! Mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Right by lots of shopping options.

Yelp
Ugh. What a good place. I love the food here so much. The ramen is phenomenal and the sushi is stellar. The fish is so so fresh. I absolutely love their boba too! It's so creamy and not too sweet. The service is so good and the restaurant is so cozy and welcoming. This is definitely a reliable place to get great food at a good price.

Yelp
I stopped by target and noticed Akira. I wanted a quick bite to eat but also something good. I checked out the menu and Akira offers a variety of items including sushi, shumai and ramen. I order the shrimp shumai, taro milk tea, tiger roll and the Hokkaido cheesecake. The shrimp shumai were delicious they also offer them in pork. I loved the tiger sushi roll, it is the chef's special cooked sushi roll. It comes with tempura shrimp, crab, avocado and spicy mayo. The staff were nice and my order took about 15-20 minutes. I would call ahead if you are tight on time. There is plenty of parking available.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Ever since moving to the area this is my go to restaurant. While I haven't actually had the opportunity to eat at the actual restaurant, this is my favorite place to order from when I simply don't have the energy to cook myself! It's also a great place to get food for when I have guests over as they have plenty of options and I know it's gaurenteed to be good and well enjoyed! The presentation is simple and nice and definitely more fresh than other asian restaurants in the area! Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Kaelyn C.

Yelp
My ramen was good and well made I would say. It's a small establishment inside so be alert that if seting inside is taken up you might have to sit outside. The service was a little slow at first for my boyfriend and I and the workers made our ordering process feel a little rushed. Which isn't really a huge concern! I still enjoyed my meal and there is plenty of parking in the front of the business so nothing to worry about there.

Yelp
No chopsticks???? All jokes aside I was under the weather and decided to get ramen to calm my symptoms. Akira is a spot I've been too and tried their ramen before but I haven't had their volcano ramen. I ordered It on Uber eats and It didn't come with chopsticks however the bowl still looks good and tasty The broth is delicious and the ramen came with all the fixings however I was missing seaweed. I will definitely try again

Yelp
Love love love eating here. The menu has expanded greatly since they first opened, so there are a bunch of new things. I really need to try, but I'm also a creature of habit so I typically just order Akira Ramen. It comes out quickly just in case you're in a hurry, but even if you are take some time to save it and enjoy the flavor.

Nyela C.

Yelp
Fast service and the food was great and it didn't take long to come out , it's very quiet. 100% would come here again
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was so delicious and pretty fast after we ordered. Our sushi came out right before out ramen but that was okay because it was soooo good!! I recommend getting a chili bomb added to your ramen if you like spice!
google avatar

Yelp
I had ramen for the first time ever yesterday. It was underwhelming. Everyone seems to love it and I felt as if it was just watery broth with tons of veggies... but no flavor? Luckily, they added some spice for me but, "eh." Sidenote: the veggies in my ramen weren't the cleanest. I don't think it is my jam, however, after looking at some of the reviews, this place seems to be more of a sushi spot than ramen? Again, I know nothing of ramen but luckily, I was able to try both ramen and sushi since my partner ordered three sushi rolls and couldn't finish--they were massive! He could barely get one piece in his mouth due to the size! I tried a piece and it was very fresh with the perfect amount of crunch. Staff wasn't the most attentive but due to the rainy day they were super busy with carryout orders.

Yelp
Ayo, the food is good - don't get me wrong. The Akira Ramen and Taro Milk tea with boba were good. However, in terms of impressing me, it only goes so far. The Akira Ramen is exactly what you would expect from a tonkotsu ramen - delivering a rich pork broth with all the toppings that come with it. It was delicious of course - but not something I would write home about. Perhaps my bowl of ramen was the exception, but it felt like it was put together rather than crafted. The quality of the ingredients and the home stretched noodles were outstanding, but there's a level of care that was missing from this bowl of ramen. The taro milk tea boba was on point though - perfectly sweetened with appropriately chewy tapioca balls. The FOH service was quick and efficient. They attended to all our needs quickly and exercised great professionalism. The ambiance was definitely cultural - they take their decor and architectural arrangements with great pride. Overall, this place is somewhere you'd go if you get the ramen itch and you don't want to drive 30 minutes out of Baltimore. Akira Ramen & Izakaya is quality and a reliable Japanese spot in Baltimore.

Yelp
LAX and sushi type of night. AJ held her self in defense and wanted to finish the night with ramen. We've been looking forward to Akira for a while. Dining area a little tight but we managed to fit us all. We were seated instantly. I was jamming to the music playing. Good music =good vibes. Ramen dishes were vibrant with color. Tasty because Court and Adrianna finished their Ramen. The homemade lemonade was fresh. The chicken fried rice was delectable. And sushi pieces were made just right. Def worth the wait. Double Thumbs up !!

Yelp
Great ambiance, good food, and nice customer service. Would recommend as a solid dinner spot in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Picked up a few different menu items for takeout including the pork bun appetizer, tuna avocado sushi roll, miso soup, and beef ramen ($19!!!). For being a place that specializes in ramen, I expected the ramen to be much better than it was for $19. I was not impressed with the broth at all or the amount of toppings included. To add extra toppings there a big up charge and I think that is unreasonable considering the high price of the dish. The miso soup and sushi roll were good, but Mizu down the street it better for a better price. Also, the pork bun was okay but definitely not worth ordering in comparison so other buns I've had. I hate to post such a negative review but we will not be eating here again due to the quality you get for the high prices. Posting 3 stars because it was okay, just not worth the price whatsoever.

Yelp
First time trying Ramen and it was so good!!!! This is a cute chill spot to grab lunch. It's super clean and the staff and very friendly. Will be back.

Yelp
Went here with my sisters-in-law to celebrate my birthday. I called ahead to reserve a table for four, and when I entered the restaurant, with only my boyfriend, 20 minutes early, the waitress KNEW WHO I WAS... like from the sound of my voice. She had a table in the back, ready. It was kinda mindblowing. I've been to the location in White Marsh, so I was familiar with the menu. Unfortunately, I am only just beginning my learning experience with sushi and I totally picked the wrong one last night. Crunchy Philly Roll (Smoked salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber, topped with tempura flake ) did not hit. The tempura flake was not crispy or crunchy. It was like a sawdust texture. And apparently I do not like salmon, as it was too fishy for me. The cream cheese did nothing but make the roll even more mouth-full-of-mush, and the cucumbers could not combat that. However, I take full responsibility for my poor choice. I will have to try a different roll next time. My boyfriend got the Sliced Beef Ramen (again): Curly noodle, tonkotsu salt flavor pork broth with sliced beef egg, fish cake, corn, scallion, bamboo shoot, wood ear, cilantro and nori... minus the fish cake and nori. He said the egg was cooked a bit too hard, as the yolk didn't mix into the broth. But that's not the end of the world. He also ordered the shrimp tempura with vegetables, simply for the shrimp. I ate the pumpkin, but I'm unsure what the other piece of vegetable was and did not like that. His sister also got the Sliced Beef Ramen, with a side of gyoza (which she loved). She found the beef a bit too fatty, but still seemed to really enjoy her bowl. Her wife also had gyoza, and a HUGE bowl of chicken fried rice without onion or scallions, doused in spicy mayo. She seemed delighted with it. We sat there for about 2 hours and it never seemed like we weren't welcome to sit there all night. Conversation can be just as important as the food when you share a meal with the right people. It was nice to be made to feel so comfortable there. I had a lovely time and will definitely return.

Yelp
I really like this place! Yet still, I haven't actually dined at the restaurant itself. Doh! I have ordered for delivery on both occasions. Still go tho! I ordered sushi. It's my closest, freshest sushi joint that I've found so far. I got the Philadelphia roll (something about that cream cheese/salmon combo that I love so much). But what I was craving the most was the pork bun. Is there a recipe for those buns? There's something sinful about those soft buns. Ha! I see they now have a fried chicken bun. It's description was tempting as it comes with lettuce and a spicy sauce. But I didn't want to be disappointed so I stuck with what I knew was already good. My partner go shashimi, which was very fresh, and some spring rolls. It was a good meal.

Yelp
This restaurant is in a bustling area. It has parking which is always a stand out for me as I hate street parking. The place was nice and clean. The servers were friendly. Our ramen was served with this really cool wooden spoon which I just learned is called "renge". The menu for ramen is fairly limited, but I like that because it means they aren't adding fluff for fluff's sake. We ordered the Akira and Volcano ramen. Both were very good. I was surprised how spicy the volcano one was based off other yelp reviews. I can only handle small amounts of spice so I was very happy I ordered the traditional. The curly noodles were great and the egg in it was perfect. I actually commented to my partner about the egg saying that I didn't know an egg could add so much to a dish. We ordered the gyoza as an appetizers and I wouldnt get it again. The sauce for it had a very strong taste, but I'm not knowledgeable enough about the ingredients to know what it was specifically. People next to us ordered the fried rice and it smelled good! Overall, would happily come back if I was in the area.

Yelp
Service was fast, interior was pretty cute and typical of a smaller ramen place. I got the gyu don, I liked the pickled veggies and the meat was seasoned well. It was a bit sweet for my liking, but overall very tasty. My partner got the volcano ramen, with less sodium. It's nice they allow the less sodium option, and it was still spicy from the chili oil on top. The broth tasted a bit bland, likely from the lack of sodium, but still very full bodied. The chashu pork was tasty but way too salty, which incidentally worked well with the lower sodium broth. Ultimately, with the full sodium option the ramen probably would have been solid.

Yelp
I have been several times and went back recently. I tried the miso ramen and it was MUCH more flavorful than I remember (especially when compared to the Akita volcano ramen). They have a new combo which you can add a choice of two appetizers (full size) for an additional 4$. I had the gyoza and they were quite flavorful. Keep in mind the miso ramen has straight noodles and the Akira has curly noodles. All in all, I'm a fan!
google avatar

Alexis H.

Yelp
Overall had a really good experience here, the ramen was on point and the sushi was good too. There is another akira ramen in Columbia that I normally go to, that one is a bit bigger and has a fully stocked bar. I was expecting that here, but this location is a bit smaller and has limited alcohol selections. I would come here for a quick bite where I strictly wanted ramen. And not to linger
google avatar

Ellen H.

Yelp
The Amira Volcano Ramen was delicious, the broth was spicy enough to give it a kick but not enough to put you in any gluttonous pain. The servers were friendly and efficient, we were out the door in about 45 minutes. The entire menu is very reasonably priced, ramen was between $10-14. The reason it doesn't get five stars for me is that as a ramen restaurant with ramen in the name, I was surprised to see they had a limited selection of ramen. Their sushi menu was so much larger and I didn't even realize they had sushi. Overall, great for a quick bite that doesn't break the bank!
google avatar

Jackie W.

Yelp
Ramen is always good and service exceptional. Consistent from to order. Always updating the menu with new delights.

Sunny B.

Yelp
Ordered the volcano ramen, they followed my requests to remove some ingredients and add another. Food was delivered hot, everything was great!
google avatar

Smitha M.

Yelp
Nice eatery for a decent arrangement of sushi and ramen. I ordered the vegetable roll and avocado roll, quick service! I sat outside for my meal, though it felt more like a to-go meal. Nonetheless, the outside seating is nice for a sunny day.
google avatar

Barbie S.

Yelp
Online their menu looked impressive. I've also been waiting to try this place out. First thought stepping in, I should step right out. We stayed. The place needs a good deep cleaning. Service was good, nothing special. No ramen ordered, we ordered sushi. I got two rolls and wow were they big! Typically I can finish two rolls without a problem, this time I had to pack leftovers to go.

Yelp
Service: I was the first customer of the day, was seated right away and was brought a table setting in timely manner. Was given a good amount of napkins so I didn't have to ask for more and water was self refillable so I didn't have to ask for that either. Very much appreciated. Food: yellowtail was really fresh which was surprising cause most ramen places don't focus on the quality of the fish but this was one of the best I've had. The ponzu sauce was different as it was slightly thicker than usual which I thoroughly enjoyed as the fish was coated better. Jalapeños were perfectly thinly slice, I would have preferred the whole piece rather than it being cut in half though. Siracha sauce was a little too much, a drop would have been fine, was overpowering so I took some off. Cucumber was a nice added touch, went well with the whole bite. The ramen hits the mark of textbook definition of a perfect Cha siu ramen. Every topping was included in what I would expect a ramen to have (Cha siu, med boiled egg cut in half, seaweed, fish cake, bamboo, spring onions, etc) The Cha siu was charred which was a plus, some places leave in the bowl cold and let the soup warm it up(terrible practice) also the pork was cut evenly, not too thin and not too thick. The soup was prob the only thing I could find fault. It needs more richness, I found it quite light even after adding some seasoning to it. But seeing as the soup isn't so heavy, eating a full bowl of ramen doesn't give me a groggy bloated feeling at the end. Either way, it doesn't take away from how perfect this ramen was.

Yelp
Have come here many times over the years and it is always a solid, delicious choice. The location is super convenient with lots of parking. Most recently I was here this past weekend and my friends and I got the karaage, which was super juicy with a very light and crisp coating, and I got the unagi bowl. I was SO impressed with how much unagi came with the bowl!!! If you love unagi, definitely get this. It was so delicious, you can't go wrong. My friends were happy with their ramen and sushi orders.
google avatar

Sabrina P.

Yelp
I ordered Ramen from here on Uber eats. I enjoyed that the broth and spicy sauce came on the side. I also added shrimp to the ramen, but for $2 extra I would have preferred more than one shrimp. Besides that the ramen was very tasty and filling. The mini buns were delicious and a perfect dessert.
google avatar

Jenny G.

Yelp
The ramen is still delicious (see previous review). We ordered the Akira Volcano Ramen (again) and Shrimp Tempura Ramen. Love, love, love the creamy pork broth! This time, we decided to also order some sushi - Salmon and Tuna Nigiri. The sushi was decent but definitely not as good as the ramen! The salmon tasted fresher than the tuna.
google avatar

Cliff L.

Yelp
I got Volcano Ramen Less salt and Karaage. I enjoyed my ramen, I liked that it was customizable. The meat was tender and tasty. The spicy ness was just some chili spices added on the side. The broth was well done, but the noodles were a little curly and thick. I personally enjoy that but it's not the more modern noodle style. The karaage appetizer was not great, it wasn't breaded like how I expected karaage to normally be. Comes with sirachi aioli and wasabi aioli which was good. Service was good, the waiter would refill water and ask how it was. Prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Mariyam S.

Yelp
Liked the place and the prices are decent. Service was a little lacklustre. The portions are good but the ramen isn't quite there. We tried the Akira Volcano Spicy Ramen which was not as spicy as I was expecting. We also tried the Karaage Ramen which was ok. The fried chicken and sauces that come with it were good and the gyoza appetiser was yum. One thing I really liked about the ramen was that the eggs were boiled just the right! Overall - not a bad ramen place for a quick bite.

Yelp
I've gotten takeout from here twice & the food has been really good! they had some deals on Uber Eats which interested me and on items that are actually good!! this time I got the crispy crab meat dumplings which were so tasty! it was like a crab rangoon but w real crab that you can actually taste! it came w 6 pieces and I would def get again! the kaarage buns (comes w 2) had a huge piece of fried chicken inside w a sauce that paired so well w it! the buns were soft and these were so filling I managed to only eat half of one. the shrimp tempura roll was p standard! the pieces were were large and had 2 pieces of shrimp tempura in them! the maryland roll has crab and avocado w old bay on top. I'm not a huge fan of old bay but the amount they put was not overwhelming so it was good. the crab tasted fresh and it was a v good simple roll! I've also had their ramen but I think I'd prefer to get their rolls & apps more!

Hursuong V.

Yelp
Solid ramen place, great for a cold day. I'm no expert in ramen so to me, it wasn't anything too special but still delicious. The best part is the broth -- I got the Volcano which surprisingly wasn't too spicy at all, but the added bit of spice with the creamy broth was nice. My boyfriend got the miso ramen, which had exactly the same components as my ramen other than the broth, and that was definitely very umami in comparison. Good amount of food. You can choose two different types of noodle (curly vs straight). The toppings are corn, wood ear, 2 pieces of pork (which was a tiny bit tough), fish cake, bean sprouts, and bamboo shoots - all other toppings cost extra from $1-$2, which I think could really make the ramen even better if you are willing to shell out more. I thought the ramen already came with an egg but both of my orders had no egg in it. I ordered pick up via Grubhub because I had credits and was in the area but I would recommend you not because 1) the staff was a bit confused and then sad that we had ordered through Grubhub, probably due to losses and 2) the prices are higher on Grubhub by like $2 per dish (or maybe the prices are just outdated on their materials). Next time I will order directly through their website! Order and pick up process overall was easy and smooth. It was nice to see that several people were dining in and ordering takeout; it looks like they are doing well during the pandemic! I liked that they kept the broth and spice separate from the noodles in the takeout containers, although one of my containers definitely had oil spilled all over it. Logistical things: located in a nice plaza with plenty of parking
google avatar

Derick Y.

Yelp
Location - easy to get to and plenty of parking in the area. Service - great friendly staff that seated us pretty quickly for a Saturday evening. Plenty of seats indoors and a couple of seats outside. Music playing throughout the restaurant but not too loud where you can't have a conversation. Now for the good stuff. The Chashu Bun had good flavor to it but I can see how the texture might through some people off. It's a bit rubbery. The Akira Volcano Ramen was not spicy at all. I was hoping to be sweating but I could have used a lot more spice in it. I ordered it with less salt and I'm glad that I did. I think it allows you to taste the other flavors in the ramen. Sadly, I didn't eat the rainbow roll because it was my friends. She did enjoy it and said it was something she would order again. Would I go back? Yes I would. Is it going to be the best ramen or Japanese you've ever had, probably not but still worth it!

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bite before visiting family for the holidays. The lobby / front entrance area was pretty busy with people waiting for tables and take out orders. We were able to get sat at a table but all of the to-go patrons were kind of standing right over our table. On to the important part - the food. We were just grabbing a snack before a late dinner so my group shared two rolls, gyoza, and chicken fried rice. The fried rice was TO DIE FOR. So fluffy, delicious. We also got some hot sake to share. The gyoza were crispy and flavorful. The roll I chose was the shrimp tempura with jalapeño and spicy tuna, I could've gone without the jalapeño in it they were cut pretty thick. Otherwise the taste and freshness were top notch. The service was friendly and attentive especially for how busy they were. This small snack sent me into a food coma and I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area to try more (especially the ramen)

Yelp
Sooooo good! Literally the best veggie rolls I've ever had (avocado and sweet potato tempura, respectively). I've been thinking about how good it was since last weekend, and had to order again already!

Yelp
This is a chain but don't let the fact this is a chain deter you from this ramen place. There are a few tables but this is a fairly small place with a couple of bar chairs and one communal? Table. On a cold and dreary rainy day, the boy asked me what I wanted in the city and ramen was the choice. Kippo in fells point isn't open on Mondays so we ended up in Canton for this joint. Having been here before, I was aware of the choices but in case you haven't been here they have a small selection of sushi and mostly ramen choices. The tonkatsu ramen was nice and porky with their straight noodles. The Akira ramen was just as good but pork was not the forefront flavor. The soft boiled soy egg was flavorful. We ended up doing an order of the takoyaki and each had a bowl of ramen. Both the ramen and the octopus balls were good, i could have had a bit more octopus in the balls but still very good.

Yelp
Delicious ramen that wasn't overly priced. The portion was good as was the cost for a few extras such as an egg, mushrooms and a few other things. We got the Volcano ramen, sliced beef ramen, and vegetable ramens and all were good. The volcano wasn't that spicy but you can add more heat to it. Spring rolls were just okay but I'm not mad since it's a ramen spot, ya know? I'd order again and have to say, maybe the chef or recipe changed in the last couple years because recent order are definitely an improvement over a couple years ago (I think it was the same ramen spot or may have been a different one). Either way, definitely good.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic! It was fully sat when we arrived on a Sunday afternoon, but we were able to get a seat after a short wait out front. Everything was worth the wait. I highly recommend the crab dumplings, Baltimore roll, and the volcano ramen. It definitely had a kick! I hope to be able to try more soon!

Yelp
Had a delicious dinner here and service was friendly and fast. The portions were huge and great to be able to take some leftovers home especially for the rice bowls. My sister loved the volcano ramen! It's easy to park here as this is within the shopping area in canton (by the target).

Yelp
Came into Akira on a weekday evening and were seated right away. I had been seeing people posting about Akira and was excited to try it out. I'm the kind of person that always needs to look at websites before I go to get an idea of the restaurant. I ended up on their Rockville location's website which states they hand make their noodles. I asked the server if that was the case at this location and she said she didn't know and never found out. I feel like if this is the case that's something staff should know and promote! Anyway, we ordered gyoza, the spicy fried tuna ball, deviled egg with scallop, and our own ramen. The gyoza came out pretty quickly. About 10 minutes later our ramen came out. It was very tasty and I enjoyed the noodles and broth a lot. I asked where our other two appetizers were and was told they were "on their way." We were completely finished with our ramen by the time our other "appetizers" came out. The staff didn't apologize for this (which I wasn't too upset about, it just seemed like it wasn't abnormal for your apps to come out after your ramen??) lol. And then for the amount of time we waited they were just ok. I will say there are certain apps on their menu that state they may take longer, but we didn't order any of those apps. Overall it was just an okay experience.

Yelp
Food wise i have nothing but good things to say. The Ramen is tasty and the sushi hits the spot everytime! ive had the sliced beef ramen that was tasty and flavorful even before i added the broth (got it as take out). The Chashu bun was the best bun ive had in a while and the sweet potato tempura roll is my new go to roll. So why three stars you ask? we'll i'll tell you.. the staff.. I know that we are still in a pandemic but I dont understand why i must be grilled and questioned when picking up my to go order. Especially when i arrived and told them my name as the sign in the door states. it was just oddly the rudest experience ive had picking up takeout. Maybe it was because i ordered through grub hub but it was how i even discovered the restaurant in the first place! With so many options in the area, it will be awhile before i return.

Yelp
We found this restaurant by mistake and discovered it had good Yelp reviews, so we thought we'd give it a try. Little did we know it would be such a taste delight. From the Karaage chicken to the Gyoza to the avocado salad, it all wasn't just good, in some cases it is the best we've ever had. Congratulations to the chain for really knocking it out of the park. We even liked the music and the decor!

Yelp
When a ramen craving hits, it hits (regardless of whether it's 92 outside or not). My friend and I were in the Canton area and I decided to give Akira another shot (and it was her first time trying it). This time, we dined in and it was not very crowded. There was no wait upon arrival as we were seated immediately. We both opted for water. As for food, we decided to share edamame. I ordered the vegetable ramen and she ordered the volcano ramen (not pictured). The edamame was only half-steamed because the texture was so off. Normally, you can't go wrong with edamame, so that was a bit of a bummer. The ramen, on the other hand, was incredible! This time, the vegetable ramen came with bok choy (last time, I added it to my order). The ramen took a long time to come out to us and I suspect this is because of online orders because there were not many parties dining in. The staff were a bit slow-moving with getting us more water and processing the bill, but the food was good! I would keep my stars at 4, but I look forward to picking up some ramen to go from Akira the next time I'm in the Canton area.

Yelp
Ate here yesterday for the first time. I was excited to have some good ramen but unfortunately, it's not much to sing home about. The service was okay; the waitstaff was nice but I had to wait about 7 minutes or so for the fried chicken for my Karaage Ramen to come out, after they had already brought out my ramen bowl. In the future, I would I think it would've been better if they just waited for the chicken to finish cooking and then brought it with my ramen. Overall, it's alright but not the best. May come back if I'm really craving ramen and I have nowhere else to go but it wouldn't be my first choice
