Affordable accommodation located in the old town. It is nice to take a stroll to the harbour where you can take a free ferry ride to get to the other side of town. Place is generally clean and nice. Bed might be a little narrow and we could hear the room next door slamming on some stuff in the middle of the night. For the prices it is definitely okay.

Clean and comfortable rooms and very reasonable rates! Located just a short walk (couple of blocks) from 'gamlebyen' (old fortified town)

This is a small hotel, good priced and close to the town but still in relatively quiet surroundings. ||This is my second stay and both times they´ve delivered what their description says. ||And me, being in my sixties and having travelled for decades all over the globe, think that it should be underlined that they go out of their way in service - which to me is the mark of a good place. ||A hotel-room is most of the time more or less the same it is the staff and service that makes a place stand out! ||Of course you should read the description of the place, but as I wrote, the staff go out of their way to accomodate at least me and that is what I call a good place to stay! ||Recommended

We're in a campervan and were only staying one night, but the place is very well run and close to the old town. There is a ferry across to the new town if you have the time but we just had time for a good meal.

Excellent service, courteous staff, warm atmosphere, good quality and cleanliness! I can not understand the negative reviews. Best price for Norway. Reasonable value for money. I would recommend this hotel with good conscience for all who are in transit.

We stayed in a cabin, which is a small hut with two sleeping rooms, a bathroom, a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. NOK 1250 for a night this was good value for money (staying one night). The cabin was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Rooms are supposed to have beds for three persons, but the double bed is actually pretty small for two adults. The location is excellent for visiting the historic city, but probably not for the new center (which we didn't visit). Communication and the information on the Norwegian-only website are pretty poor, so we only learnt upon arrival that we had to pay for bedlinnen and towels (NOK 60, if I remember correctly) and for the optional final cleaning (NOK 200). WiFi access is free but you need to ask for a code at the reception.

Very good infrastructure, clean and plenty. Close to some fort. Views are not great, price is a bit high (but showers with no time limit are included, so it is not that bad in the end ;)). Very good for overnight while travelling, cant say if I would stay my holiday here (depends on what else can be done i Fredrikstadt).

Excellent location near the castle. Plenty of room for caravan and tent camping. A Spar market is 0.7km away. This campground features a cafe, a meeting room adjacent to the cafe, and a large outdoor deck with Weber grills. An added bonus is the free laundry room. The best campground I've been to in Southern Norway. Well worth staying here.
