Akumal Dive Shop

Our family stayed at the Bahia Principe Grand Coba and I did alot of research before our trip. We booked the Robinson Cruso catamaran day trip and it was the absolute highlight of our trip. The kids loved it, the adults loved it, and I would 100% do it again if we find ourselves in the area. The Dive Shop is in a safe area and was a 10 minute cab ride form our resort. The people there were so nice and accomodating. They cooked us fresh fish and made frresh guacamole and ceviche while we were anchored in the snorkeling area. Also it was the perfect length of time - we didnt want to book an 8-12 hour tour because we like our resort amenities. 100% book this trip.

I am a Canadian Instructor visiting Mexico for training and vacation and came to Akumal to do a fun dive with a friend who wanted to try a Discover dive. The staff in the shop were very friendly and helpful. All communication through email and Whatsapp was clear and the dive day went very smoothly. My friend had Fito as an Instructor, and he was very patient and kind training her and one other first time diver. He really tried to foster independence and confidence in the Discover students from what I heard from both of them and from what I observed during the dive. Although, my friend didn't end up doing the actual dive (due to fear and anxiety), he was very kind and encouraged her to pursue it in the future when she was ready. She made sure to emphasise that he did a great job despite her choosing to sit out of the dive. If I could've, I would've booked more dives with the shop. We saw a beautiful reef, lots of fish, and 2 turtles (first one was at least 1m -1.5m and had large remoras attached). They were very kind to allow us to continue using the lockers and showers for a couple more hours while we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the beach.

The best place to book a dive. Especially with Saul Castillo! Safety is number one and we always have a fun time and see amazing things underwater. Equipment is perfect. They have lockers and showers to use. Saul Is a great teacher and makes you feel Comfortable and welcome and safe! He also has a wide knowledge of sea life and history and the dive industry!!!! I got my original open water certification here and will always come back!

I really loved diving with ADS, my 11 year old son did 2 discovery dives with them and my wife and I who are both certified divers dived with him. ADS were very friendly, very professional made us feel safe and comfortable. All of their equipment was new and there boat spacious (not a tiny rib). We loved the experience and my son now wants to dive more. We saw a nurse shark, turtles, groupers lots of coral and reef fish. The dives were amazing. Thank you ADS see you next time.

Amazing snorkeling! We saw colorful fish, reefs, rays and turtles. The dive shop was very easy to chat with by whatsapp, and took our group of 7 out at our preferred time with just a couple hours notice. We arrived at the dive shop, where we got a locker for our belongings and were given clean snorkeling equipment and life vests. We took a small boat about 3 minutes into the bay, and then jumped out and followed our guide Rebecca and slowly swam back to shore seeing all the beautiful creatures along the way. Bring your phone in a waterproof pouch, and maybe a long sleeve water shirt for the sun. You can't bring much else with you. Would definitely do again. Also they gave us bracelets to stay on Akumel beach afterwards - which is so beautiful.

What an amazing dive shop. Only a short walk from our resort we met with Raul who was super friendly and informative. We booked an easy 50 feet shallow dive. With a very short boat ride and our exceptional instructor Fito (probably spelled wrong) we had a blast. We will be back for more diving and inspired to maybe get an updated certification

We had a wonderful experience with Santos today. We had booked the snorkel tour of the bay for two adults and one child (who was relatively new to snorkeling.) Santos was very patient and despite the cloudy water we were able to see a few turtles. The tour was not rushed at all. I would definitely consider them for future tours.

I 100% recommend Akumal Dive Shop for those visiting the area. We did snorkeling and had a great time. Our guide was helpful with identifying all the species of fish. We got such great shots of the sea turtles and I was so excited to have seen them. Definitely a surreal experience. The dive shop also gives you a wristband so you have access to the beach all day which was very nice. Afterwards we grabbed some lunch at the restaurant by there and shared some frozen cocktails. All in all a great day with great experiences thanks to Akumal Dive Shop.
