Akureyri Botanical Garden

Awesome place to visit. It wasn’t crowded and found lots of amazing flowers. If you like flowers try to go there. There is a very nice coffee shop there that I recommend. It is free, you don’t need to get tickets. Nice walk from the cruise ship, 25 min or so or you can buy the tourist bus ticket

We got lucky and happened upon this gem on a rare, sunny and warm day in late August. The flowers are amazing and it's hard to believe that they can thrive so well in Iceland. Visitors to this free venue can also enjoy a fantastic cafe on site!

A fascinating place. The gardens are beautifully laid out and clearly labelled. We visited as part of a cruise ship excursion and only got about 40 minutes before we were leaving. It was such a shame. The weather was beautiful on the day we visited: blue sky, hardly a cloud, warm (17°) and dry. The gardens are well looked after and used by many locals. The flowering plants in July were a sight to behold. Very highly recommended.

Touring Greenland's coastal communities. Akureyri is the first place we have seen stands of trees and lots of beautiful foliage and flowers. Spectacular views in the fjords! The Botanical Garden is free to the public to explore and enjoy.

Because of time restrictions,only a quick visit. But very pleasant stop . Must say we thoroughly enjoyed some of the best coffee in Iceland here. Enjoy

For such a small place it packs a BIG punch. So cute and worth strolling. Plus it’s free! And Lyst coffee shop is adorable and worth stopping into

It's amazing how this free botanical garden is one of the best I've ever been to. You have to pay to use the WC, which I didn't mind because they didn't charge me anything to walk around this lovely place.

Has a nice busy cafe within the garden. Small pretty collection of flowers and plants. Toilet is chargeable and a little wonky on payment. Cost 300isk. Entrance is free of charge.
