Visited in September 2025 and really enjoyed it, despite the fact it rained the whole time, it was still worth the effort. Would definitely suggest visiting if your in the vicinity. BTW- Free to walk through and enjoy the sights. There was a cool looking coffee house, but we did not visit it.

Beautiful and calm place. Nice flowers, and trees everywhere. It has the information for everything around. The paths are easy to walk, charming nature and it has a caffe very cozy inside too. The parking is easy access right at front. Lovely place.

Free admission to this garden, which was awesome! It’s was great checking out all types of plants here that some of them I had never seen before. The place itself was pretty big too, offering a cafe, 2 greenhouses, a statue of the original owner of the place, and a fountain. Some of the flowers pictured below were some of my favorites, since they looked gorgeous! Highly recommend stopping by, especially since admission is free!

Beautiful garden with pathways. Very peaceful. It's free. There's a Cafe to purchase coffee or Alcohol. Definitely bring your camera. The floral smells are so refreshing!

The gardens, for this time of year, were still beautiful. I would love to come back someday to see it during peek times. We walked through in about an hour. There is a shop that had coffee and some bakery items. We didn't eat there because we had just finished eating sandwiches. If you enjoy flowers, and are curious about the names of some of the plants you have seen along your journey, take a stroll. You won't be disappointed!

The garden is small but lovely, an unexpected gem just above the town. You can walk here, but it’s all uphill from the town or cruise port, so jump on the free public bus which does the rounds every 25 minutes or so, see the gardens, then walk back down past the church. As a bonus the garden has a lovely cafe in an architecturally designed building which does decent coffee and cakes.

I'm not sure how to summarize how stunning the Akureyri Botanical Garden is in person. P.S. The price is right - free! As a tourist, I was taken back by the beauty of Icelandic flora. Also, Iceland seems to have some of the happiest, most content bees I've ever witnessed. Good on ya, Iceland! I was mesmerized by all the different variations of flowers. The Akureyri Botanical Garden was the best place I visited in Akureyri. It's absolutely worth a visit. I would go back again and again! 🌸🐝

Beautiful garden! A lovely place to spend an hour or more, walking the trails and seeing the different flowers. Note: Some of the trails are not wheelchair accessible, but you can still see a fair amount if your chair can go over gravel. The cafe onsite is cozy and provides excellent food and drink. I had some delicious avocado toast there as well as the best hot chocolate I have ever had. The gazebo with stained glass is a nice photo spot.
