Akureyri HI Hostel

We stayed here for one night on a ring road trip. Good, clear information for self check in with code. The hostel exceeded our expectations. Lovely comfy beds, clean and well equipped shared kitchen. Modern, well equipped bathroom. Great location, free on site parking and walking distance to shops, restaurants and harbour.

We had a 10 day Iceland vacation, rented 6 different rooms and this place was by far the best we got for the money. Others were more expensive and had a lower standard. Very high standard do have the bathrooms/showers/toilets, they seem to be quite new. No bad smelling, no mold, everything looks nice and works. Also to mention the nice areas for reading, just chilling (Fotos included), near the kitchen there was enough place for having some snack. So thanks a lot to the owner for providing such a nice place for a modest price and thanks a lot to the cleaning team, You're doing a great job 👍🏼 We enjoyed our stay very much. Additional side comment: A bit shocking were other guests for me. Some were very unfriendly and did not respond a simple and friendly "Good Morning" or "Hello", looked down to me if I were coming from the moon. 🙈

Literally amazing. Each room in the hostel has a sink and everything is so updated and nice and clean. The showers are in the WC and have great water pressure and are hot. Literally the best hostel I’ve stayed at yet

very affordable price with exceptional facilities, especially toilets and showers. Common areas are with cute designs and everything you need to cook or social or chill.

A wonderful place. Very large kitchen, with refrigerators for storing food, free delicious coffee, plenty of space to hang out not only in the room. The room is clean, quite large, and has a comfortable bed. In the bathroom, there are paper towels and hand soap. We were here in winter and plan to come back again in summer.

Very good hostel. The rooms are very nice. The hostel is stylishly furnished. The bathrooms are very modern. Everything is very clean.

We had a really comfortable stay. I don't know how it works for other platforms, but we made the reservations over booking and all the info we needed was forwarded to us the day before via the messages. We checked in relatively late, so it was a self check in and very quick. We got used to taking the shoes off at the entrance at this point😄 in addition you have to make your bed and leave the used sheets in the cleaning baskets when you check out. The kitchen area is quite big and well-equipped. You just need to take whatever you need to eat. There's no foodstuff apart from some salt and sugar. There's a Bonus right around the block, and the centre is not that far really. It's a nice walk down. I guess you all know how expensive the food can get, and unfortunately there aren't many updates menus on Maps. So if you are used to checking the restaurant prices from the menu photos on Google just add a few hundred kronas especially if you see menu photos from 3 months ago or older.
