The Akwidaa Inn is in a wonderfully quiet location, the cabins are cozy and furnished with attention to detail. A special highlight is the perfect fine sandy beach under palm trees, the water is also very clean here, which is unfortunately not the case in many other places on the coast. The food is always freshly prepared and guests' special requests are also taken into account. Absolutely great, I only experienced this here on my trip. The owner and the employees treat the guests very warmly and kindly, you soon feel like part of the family. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, it was a rather disappointing experience. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the place suffers from a lack of proper management. The overall atmosphere was quite sad and unwelcoming, which seemed to stem from the owner himself. It felt as though the owner was deeply unhappy and uninterested in running the hotel. While he made an effort to appear polite, it was evident that his main concern was securing money and good reviews rather than genuinely providing a great experience for his guests. This lack of enthusiasm and care translated into the condition of the hotel, which showed clear signs of neglect and insufficient maintenance. As a guest, it’s hard to feel comfortable in an environment where the lack of passion for hospitality is so palpable. The energy of the place reflected the owner’s discontent, and it was difficult to enjoy my stay because of this. I cannot in good faith recommend this hotel unless there are significant changes in management or attitude. A hotel should feel like a home away from home, but sadly, this one felt more like a reflection of someone who has lost interest in providing that kind of experience.

After our multi-week trip through Ghana, I would like to revise and make my initial review of the hotel more realistic. The hotel boasts a stunning location right by the sea – a true highlight for those seeking adventure and authentic experiences. The staff is exceptionally friendly and dedicated, always striving to make the stay as pleasant as possible. A special mention goes to the chef, who prepares excellent, freshly caught fish and even caters to special requests – a true culinary delight! However, there are a few points to note: there are no air conditioning units, and while the Wi-Fi was surprisingly good, some guests might miss certain familiar amenities. Initially, there was some confusion regarding additional taxes on our booking via Booking.com. After addressing this with the friendly manager, the issue was quickly and professionally resolved. He provided a transparent breakdown of the bill and issued a new, correct invoice. For travelers seeking luxury accommodations, another option might be more suitable. However, those who value the breathtaking surroundings, warm hospitality, and an authentic travel experience will certainly enjoy their stay here.

We had a delightful stay at Akwidaa Inn. The rooms are well furbished and clean with mosquito nets, a fan and running water in the bathrooms. The grounds are lovely, shaded by coconut trees as well as grass roofs under which you can sit and enjoy the view and sounds of the ocean.||The staff are friendly and happy to organise tours to local towns and natural sights for a fixed price (we went in a canoe through the mangroves on the Ezile river). A highlight are the meals prepared by the chef, Jacob. He cooks delicious local meals as well as some creations of his own. These can be enjoyed in the restaurant (with wifi) under in a large roof overlooking the beach.||A standard room cost 380 cedi and an average meal approx. 85 cedi. We found these prices to be fair especially considering the remote location, quality services and maintenance of the compound.||We came in our own car. The road from Dixcove is unpaved and quite rough but also beautiful and certainly worth the visit to Akwidaa Inn.

It was a great resort with good service but became a poor and sad resort. It need maintenance. Prices from the foods are crazy! Cause you can not go anywhere, you need a full wallet with cash. One pancake for 95 cidiescedies. Also prices of tours are crazy ;just walk to the village and you ll score bargains instaid of paying a lot of cash. Before you are planning to go , please take lots of cash , cause there is no ATM and you can not use the creditcard

This beach resort is just beautiful. The beach was clean and long and the huts are very clean and neat. The garden was also very clean and full of coconut trees. The best thing are the wonderful staffs that made our stay here so special. The manager has good ideas what to do and see in the area and if you want to make excursions to the lighthouse or the river you should ask for paa kwesi the gardener. He was an excellent remarkable tour guide!! The food was also really good you just need to say how you like it. Thanks again for the time here! We will definitely come back.

Visited in January, 2021 Unrivalled for a retreat from connectivity and the madding crowd in an atmosphere of unpretentious, natural simplicity. Staff is friendly but somewhat complacent and after 3 days, the same 3 choices for meals (freshly prepared!) was rather tired. Do go on a canoe trip through the mangroves - you may spot monkeys but will certainly see crabs and birds of prey. A walk into the village is worth it for the colourful hustle and bustle around the old wooden bridge that spans the mouth of the river . The townspeople are still waiting for local politicians to fulfill their promise to construct a vehicular bridge that would save 4-wheelers a 1½ hour detour on an extremely poor "road".

I came here with 3 of my friends, after recommendation from one of them (phish). Jafar, the manager is amazing. He was ready to help, extremely delightful. I can’t stress enough how much of a good manager he is. The beach is serene and beautiful. The ocean is clean and my favorite part of my experience at Akwidaa was the canoeing on mangrove. Extremely relaxing. |One of Ghana’s hidden gems. Oh and the coconuts on arrival gives it the best tropical touch. |5/5 will recommend.
