Al Arez Express

This a good Lebanese restaurant . Food was delicious and service was quick . We enjoyed Sea Bass and all other food. The place is clean. The staff is great and helpful. Special thanks to Mr Ala'a for his hospitality.

We were welcomed by Omar, Bahgat and the head chef into the restaurant, as people who were first time coming absolutely amazing service from all staff especially the chef and Omar, they kept giving us complimentary dishes. I also noticed that with all the people in the restaurant. The food was top tire, shawarma’s full to the brim with juicy, succulent meat with sides to die for. 100% recommendations for us 😊

I had a very disappointing experience at Arez, despite the restaurant being very busy and initially looking quite promising. From the moment we arrived, the service felt rushed and unwelcoming. The staff appeared stressed and were noticeably unfriendly, which immediately created an uncomfortable atmosphere. The food was even more disappointing. I waited around 30 minutes for a shawarma, which is far too long for a relatively simple dish. When it finally arrived, it was cold and did not taste good. Some parts of the meat were not properly cooked, which was particularly concerning. The fries were soaked in grease, lacked salt, and were not hot either. The only positive aspect of the visit was the music, which was actually quite good. Overall, this visit fell far below expectations in terms of both service and food quality. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

I am writing to formally complain about a very disappointing and concerning experience I had at Al Arez Express on Edgware Road. I was served chicken leg that was clearly raw and when I took it out to feel it felt like jelly and was unable to eat the rest of my meal once seeing this. When I raised this with your staff, I was told that this is “how chicken leg is made, and we get this complaint often” which is completely unacceptable. Serving uncooked chicken is a serious food safety issue and poses a health risk. In addition to this, the level of service was very poor. Some staff members were on their mobile phones, not paying attention to customers or service. This lack of professionalism was obvious and uncomfortable. I also speak Arabic and overheard staff complaining about cleanliness and things being dirty behind the scenes. Hearing this immediately put me off eating and raised further concerns about hygiene standards in your restaurant. Overall, this experience fell far below acceptable standards for food quality, hygiene, and customer service. I hope this complaint is taken seriously and that appropriate action is taken to address these issues. I would appreciate a response explaining how this will be handled. Yours faithfully, Sam

If you are in Edgware Road looking for Arabic food , especially Shawarma then, this restaurant is the one. Been coming to the Arez for you and their shawarma social mix plate is what I always order. Speedy service, nice atmosphere

I wouldn’t recommend this side of Al Arez express. The toilets are unclean, that says a lot about the standard of hygiene. There is a short and bold chubby waiter, who’s wearing a white shirt under a black jumper. His shirt’s cuffs are so dirty, that makes me suspicious of the food hygiene. The meat of the Shawarma was so burnt that it tasted bitter, I doubt of the freshness. . However the lemonade is good.

Very disappointing experience. The food quality was poor and it was served cold. One dish was incorrect; the waiter took it back but delayed bringing the replacement due to an issue with his colleague, and when it finally arrived, it was cold as well. When I asked to pack the remaining food, they handed me containers and told me to pack it myself, claiming it was their policy. The same staff member handling shisha was also serving food, which raises hygiene concerns. Service was extremely slow. I also witnessed staff blowing trash into the street instead of disposing of it properly in garbage bins, showing a lack of cleanliness and professionalism. Overall, unacceptable service standards.

Been going here for many years and the food is still very yummy. Service by Alaa was immaculate- highly recommended.

Good lamb shwarma with fluffy garlic sauce and feisty chili sauce. Chips were cooked to order. The lamb was lean and flavorful. But the cafes next door are better

Stopped off here for breakfast. Superb choice of all the Lebanese favourites. I chose the Baghdadi hummous, comes with chilli, parsley and chick peas. Generous servings, of course complete with really nice pita bread for dipping. Side plates of the excellent olives and yellow chillies. Accompanied this with freshly made lemonade and sweet and strong, muddy Lebanese coffee. What more could you ask for to start the day off? Good solid carbs chased down by a killer coffee. Thumbs up
