Pretty amazing spot to get Mediterranean food. I tried their sultani plate and the beef tenderloin was so juicy and went so well with the rice. I also ended up having leftovers for the next day due to the large portion size. In an only imagine what it would’ve like to bring multiple people here or how it gets when the place is busy. Decor is amazing and makes you feel like you’re on a luxurious ship.

As~Salaam~Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Ramadan Mubarak!! This place was an absolute delight to experience & the service was superb. The food was so deliciously yummy, tasty and of couse halal. I ordered the small Fattoush salad, Wings and the Signature Platter, with a refreshing hibiscus tea. It was so much food a to go box was absolutely needed. I also, got chance to try the Fried Syrian Cheese it was so good. For dessert I took home a slice of coffee cake which was also delicious. 10 out 10 I recommend this place...if you enjoy mediterranean food & a beautiful inviting atmosphere please give it a try. 🤲🏾♥️🤲🏾♥️🤲🏾 peace & blessings

I have been meaning to visit Al Bahaar for the longest time and finally hubby and I decided to try them out and it was a 10 stars experience! We got the seafood tower for 2 and it come with 2 dips and bread and everything was Devine!!!! An absolute mouth heaven for seafood lovers. The top tier was fried calamari, lobster tail split in 2 and 2 giant shrimp with this spicy tomato dipping sauce. The bottom tier was a bed of delicious spicy yellow rice with 3 different kinds of fish, shrimp and mussels. Every single thing I put into my mouth was excellent!!! Our server Ferris (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was absolutely amazing. Funny, knowledgeable, he explained everything that we were eating and telling us about the buffet that they offered. He was tentative and nice. The decor was sooooo beautiful and romantic as well. We sat on these super comfy round cushion chairs over these beautiful round lights and it was dim enough to feel a wonderful atmosphere and romantic but bright enough to see our food. The entire experience was wonderful and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I will recommend this place to anyone who loves Mediterranean food or seafood and I will 1000% be back. This is my new favorite place!! Thank you for a great date night experience for hubby and I!

One of the greatest seafood experiences in the US. Everything about Al Bahaar is excellent! From decorations, to service, to the food itself. The owner is well known for his extreme care about his restaurant businesses so you come expecting a great experience. The menu is diverse and spent so much time trying to decide on what time as everything was tempting to order. Ultimately we decided to go for a seafood tower which provide a bit of everything and it was phenomenal. The fish seasoning was among the best I ever had. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.

Wooow! Just landed in Chicago and our friends drive us straight here for dinner. The decor was very well done and service was top notch (the resturant was not filled) The servers were attentive and brought out our food immediately. We had a mix of grill meat and the red snapper- so delicious. The fresh bread with the various dips of hummus, baba ganoush and labneh great starter to our meal. The shrimp was popping with flavor! Various meals were alllll tender with the right amount of flavor- huge portions. We were 9 people and had plenty of left overs! Seating is plenty. Al Bahaar just got a loyal customer! 11/10

Such delicious food!! Ordered fried seafood platter and kebabs! Very generous portions!! Mint drink was a bit too sweet. Our server Abasel was great energy and very happy to serve us. Will visit again for a couple of other dishes on the menu.

The service was fantastic!! Food was served fast and perfectly seasoned. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, felt like we were dining with long time friends.

Honestly, it was a very beautiful experience. The place is more than wonderful, and the decor is unusual. You won’t find it in other restaurants. The design is successful, and the treatment of customers is very elegant. You feel comfortable, in addition to the taste of the food being very delicious. Thank you for your efforts 🌼

First and foremost this place is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Everyone from the host to the owner was extremely friendly, welcoming , and attentive. We had appetizers, the fried seafood and filet Mignon platters for entrees, plus at the end, we just barely fit in some dessert. Tip: if you can save room after the big portion sizes, definitely get the pistachio cake and some coffee. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed everything about our first experience at Al Bahaar. The only debatable downside would be the prices , but in my opinion you get what you pay for . The ambiance , service , and quality of food made the prices perfectly palatable.

In town for work and was craving kabobs so yelped it as usual. Randomly came across this wonderful place and so glad I did. Wasnt too familiar with the neighborhood so naturally didn't have much of an expectation but wow prob one of the best kabobs I've had. Was torn between lamb chops and the mixed grill platter. The kind waiter was so thoughtful and recommended the mixed platter with a piece of lamb chops to taste. The kabobs back home often were more in the dry side so expected something similar but to my surprise the kabobs were all perfectly cooked to perfection and maintaining its juiciness and tender chew. The mixed grill came with kufta kebab, shish kebab, and shish tawook. On the side were onions, and two types of rice (yellow and red rice-liked the yellow rice better), and a separate large hummus plate. I believe it was two different types of hummus. In one side was the chick pea and believe garlic and the other side was with chopped tomato. Of note, the waiter told me the restaurant owner also has a farm with live stock where they get their meats directly so naturally fresh. Maybe this was the secret behind their especially tasteful dishes. Also ordered apple tea which was sooooo good. Apparently they import the tea from turkey. Was planning to order pistachio cake but honestly was so stuffed couldn't take another bite.

The man who answered the phone was pleasant. I appreciate that they open late. Not too many sit down places to choose from that isn't a bar on a Friday night in the suburbs. The host was distracted when we got there, we stood idle for a bit, which is understandable because a newly wed was having their last hurrah for the evening complete with a circle dance, sparklers, loud music, and clapping. It was definitely a joyful spectacle. The view inside is as beautiful as the well lit restaurant on the outside. First notice, there were many families in the main dining room with many children under 10 years old. We sat and waited for someone to come back to realize that we were forgotten. We asked the bus boy if someone could come to get our order and the lady that came by gave a confused look and asked if we needed something. Besides taking the order, bringing the food, and asking again for the check, no one dropped by to check if our water needs refilling unless we asked. They do come right away if you do ask though. Both the hummus and naan were excellent. Turkish coffee tasted as expected (ordered because it is very, very cold in the restaurant. Definitely bring a sweater). Seafood tower was more spectacular visually than the price point to taste. We got this because they advertised speciality in seafood. If I do go back, maybe the typical Middle Eastern cuisine might have been the better choice.

al-Bahaar is a seafood restaurant conveniently located in the vicinity of Orland Square Mall. There is ample parking. The interior is very spacious and beautifully decorated. It's a nice experience eating here. Service was friendly and pricing was reasonable for a seafood restaurant, though not cheap. The menu had a decent selection of seafood items, but also plenty of non-seafood Middle Eastern dishes like hummus and muhammara. We ordered a grilled seafood platter (which came with a nice yogurt dip and fresh pita bread), and a mashkan roll appetizer. The seafood platter had a nice mix of items. It had two types of grilled fish, some shrimp, one jumbo shrimp, a couple of mussels, and fried calamari. This was all served atop a bed of rice. Melted butter and marinara sauce were included, but I really wish there was tartar sauce. Everything was tasty (including the yogurt dip), but the shrimp was tough, so I think it was slightly overcooked. The mashkan rolls were like spring rolls with chicken and sumac inside. These were just okay. There was some tartness along with the savory flavors, but my wife didn't feel like the chicken had a fresh flavor. I think these rolls would have been better with some sort of dip, maybe a garlic sauce. Overall, a nice restaurant to have a fancy seafood meal before or after a trip to the mall.

Came here for the first time and absolutely loved everything. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars was because we got potatoes and they were cold and not cooked/warmed up all the way! I got chicken/lamb/filet kabobs so good. My favorite was definitely the baba ganoush! My husband got the sea bass and loved it! Definitely big portions!

This restaurant is a golden gem. Found them on yelp looking for seafood. They had amazing reviews so I gave it a try! Glad I did! First the customer service was excellent. Tariq was our main server and he was attentive and his personality was warm! Everyone we spoke with was great. We ordered the grilled seafood mix with lemon mushrooms (fresh and bold flavor), tarragon lobster, and shrimp kabob. Our food was fresh, flavorful and served hot. Tariq recommended desert and we ordered the Carmel cake!!! It was so moist and good.... I am going to bring everyone I know here...I absolutely recommend you give them a chance. The prices are good for the quality and portions. Also Turkish coffee is good.

Our friends Sonia & Samir Khalil and Hanya Aboukie Elkhatib HIGHLY recommended this establishment when asked whether we would enjoy dining here. Off we went. GREAT DECISION! We were greeted by the owner's son and another older gentleman who also appeared to be family, and were immediately seated. The menu was eclectic and no doubt Mediterranean with a few twist. EVERYTHING WAS OUTSTANDING! I started with the GARLIC OYSTERS as my appetizer incorrectly listed as a cold appetizer but properly served baked then broiled. Plump and succulent oysters bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce, topped with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley. My wife and daughter shared (and I tasted) the MUHAMMARA a delectable dip made from roasted red peppers, walnuts, breadcrumbs, olive oil, and spices. For entrees our friends uniformly highly recommended the FISH SAYADIEH which comes fried or grilled. This is a whole deboned and halved basa fish. Light, flaky and fried in a perfect tempura batter served atop a bed of fragrant rice cooked with spices, nuts, and caramelized onions. The desserts and coffees are varied and delicious--I suggest the pistachio cake and vanilla cafe latte.

Amazing service started as soon as we walked in the door. Friendly host brought us to great table with very comfortable oversized chairs. Waiter was knowledgeable and had great recommendations, later he brought out some sauces for us to sample with our meal. I got the mixed platter that was delicious. Live music in the back room added to the cool vibe. Great experience.

Visited today, and the food was amazing (I can be critical of Mediterranean food since I'm Lebanese). The restaurant itself was very nice, we really admired the lighting! We got the sayadeyeh (spicy fish on a bed of rice), tabbouleh, batata harra (spicy potatoes), mixed grill platter, and Cajun wedges and some chicken noodle soup (my boyfriend was a little sick lol). We weren't super hungry but stopped for a quick bite. We absolutely did not expect how big the portions would be! They also gave us hummus and pita bread. We were super full but were able to at least try a lot of their options. We will definitely be back! The manager spoke to us upon leaving also and was super friendly and welcoming. The service was also great.

Picked this spot for a Sweetest Day Lunch. Great choice. Interior is amazing, colorful, bright, spacious. Staff was super friendly, and helpful explaining the menu. Portion size is ample but pricey, but you get what you pay for. Will be back again. May also try their other locations - Niles and Bridgeview.

The vibe is definitely nice inside the restaurant, the decor matches the food theme. The servers are very helpful and the food is large portions that come out quick.

Today I chose a restaurant that I'd never patronize to celebrate my spouse birthday, what a great choice. Al Bahaar Seafood and Kabob, Orland Patk. The atmosphere was relaxing with an elegant Mediterranean motif, including beautiful lighting. The service and staff for impeccable. Also spoke with some of the executive staff who were pleasant, professional, and very informative on future growth of the restaurant. The mozzarella sticks were made in house couldn't stop eating them. Even the apple juice was made in house, like you were biting into an actual apple. Place this restaurant on your next checklist, you won't be disappointed

Service was absolutely amazing! I wish i could remember the servers name, super friendly. The ambiance was nice as well. We sat outside and it was gorgeous. The food was great as well. The Taboulleh was phenomenal as well as the dynamite shrimp. The mixed seafood platter was missing some seasoning in my opinion and it felt like it was more rice than seafood itself. The branzino was delicious, i wish they would've deboned it though. The mashed potatoes were not it. Something tasted so off about it, almost as though it was spoiled? not sure, and it had zero seasoning to it. The grilled octopus was very flavorful but it seemed a little too rubbery, my jaw hurt after trying to chew just a bite. it sat on a bed of mashed potatoes, which again we think was spoiled so we couldn't even eat it.

The atmosphere was unwelcoming my waitress took control over what I wanted to eat she said this Is MIDDLE EASTERN FOOD. My expensive shrimp platter was cold and rubbery she brought the wrong kind of salad and didn't bring the potato's. I requested the salad before the main course she said that they bring everything at once. I sampled the Turkish Coffee it tastes like dirty tree roots and lavender. Throughout my visit all of them continued spying and glancing around hidden places and through plants even the manager or owners like I was a dine and dasher. From my observation it's a "Meeting Place" for immigrant business! Americans aren't welcomed or expected to dine there. Bone Fish has much better quality fresh seafood. This restaurant can't even compete with Red Lobsters quality.

All of the above food service and ambiance were excellent. We had the Greek salad, the shrimp, calamari, and the hummus. All of the food was freshly made and very delicious. The manager and servers' hospitality was outstanding. Their outdoor patio very spacious and decorative. I am definitely coming back.

Al right ya'll... I discovered this place today while googling Middle Eastern food near me and boy am I soooo happy I chose this place. I took my mom to dinner to celebrate Mother's Day (better late than never) and just walking in the lobby made me feel like it was going to be an amazing experience. First of all the music being piped outside makes me want to dance, and walking in I literally smelled the freshness of the ingredients and the cooked seafood made my mouth water. The host was very friendly and told us they've been only open for two weeks! The place is just gorgeous and looked pretty empty for a Tuesday evening but that didn't last long. I remember looking up from my plate at some point and realizing every table in my section was full. The owner did a wonderful job decorating (see pics below) and the food really sealed the deal. I ordered the GRILLED SEAFOOD MIX (SALMON, SHRIMP, CATFISH, & WALLEYE) $32) which came with rice and a parsley tahini dip, and my mom ordered the AL-BAHAAR MIXED GRILL (Trio Skewers: Kufta Kebab, Shish Tawook, and Shish Kebab. Served with yellow and red rice, Hummus, and Baba Ghanouj $29). I also ordered the Fatoush salad and the Tabbouleh salad ($9 each). All the food pictured plus the drinks came out to like $94 or so which is a great deal considering we took home so much food because the portions are so generous. I can wax poetic all day about the freshness of the food, the exquisite flavor, the ambience and so forth but you just have to go experience it for yourself!!!

Food is fantastic, fresh, tasty, should I go on , will definitely be coming back, service a bit slow, but loved this place.

This is our new favorite seafood place! I can't wait to bring more of my family here. They have really spared no expense with the decorations. I spent all the time waiting for the food looking at all the little details and little eating nooks. The service was stupendous- and the food was even better! So flavorful! We argued over who had the better food. This place really knows their seafood.

Too over priced. Chilis/Applebees quality, Shaw'a crab house prices! Place had OK food. Nothing spectacular, but I'd have come back if it wasn't for the sticker shock!

Wow! My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time! Delicious authentic food.... had the Paella and it was super delicious! The Clam chowder was amazing! The Baba Ganoush and Hummus was amazing along with their Spicy potatoes. My husband ordered a mixed meat grill and he loved it! The restaurant is beautiful , clean and friendly staff! Can't wait to go back!

First, this restaurant is gorgeous. Very ornate and exotic. The staff is kind and welcoming, and they really seem to care about making your experience authentic to their culture. And the food is so fresh and delicious. They do not shy away from flavor! Highly recommend for a fun, fresh, unique dining experience. I will definitely go back.

The food was outstanding! Al Bahaar was incredibly busy yet they nailed it on both the food and service.

This restaurant is absolutely beautiful! The service was also spectacular, we were immediately welcomed with Arabic coffee as we seated. Everyone was so friendly and wanted to make sure we were happy with our experience. The food was full of flavor. We started off with the tuna tartare and then had the grilled octopus which was grilled to perfection. We also tried the mixed grill plate, which my husband couldn't stop raving about - all around we give this place an A+! We can't wait to go back to check out their outdoor area once it is opened!

The ambiance, customer service, and delectable dishes were excellent. The flavors were everything. We had the salmon and branzino. The broccoli was grilled to perfection. The calamari and dynamite shrimp were also tasty. I will be back soon!

I had the pleasure of dining at Al Bahaar for lunch just last week while in town on business. First, the ambiance is fantastic! The authentic decor is gorgeous imported from the middle east. Although we were dining at lunch, which is currently slower paced, the service was 5-star . . every detail was thought of, nothing missed with extremely attentive wait staff. Last, but definitely not least, is the mouthwatering cuisine. We sampled fresh made sauces. FRESHLY made in-house. Additionally, we enjoyed fried octopus as an appetizer. Please note: I detest octopus until I met their version. I gobbled it up! We had a wide variety of fresh grilled seafood that included lobster tail, salmon, sea bass, branzino and succulent shrimp. All was extremely fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed a fresh made smoothie to wash down my food. FRESHLY made! Finally, we enjoyed a huge, shared piece of the pistachio cake. I had 0 room for it but the presentation of it was gorgeous and I could not resist trying it. FANTASTIC! It was very moist and sort of reminded me of being soaked in milk like a tres leches cake, if you have had experienced this. Now that I am back in North Carolina, I very much wish I had such an amazing restaurant in my area.
