Very calm and dimly lit promenade, for casual strolls with friends and family. Didn't see the fountain shows and don't know why they were not operating that day. Amazing sunset views with a bridge leading to Al Noor island, which was cackling with cacophony of birds. It wasn't very crowded, and is recommended if you like sitting in grass for hours. There were lots of eateries nearby, and 2 beautiful mosques.

There is no entrance fee, only if you have a car you might need to pay for parking... it is a nice family-friendly area where you can have picnic, take memorable pictures and enjoy the fresh air. Great for daily walks around the lake or just chill. Plenty of people go there just to be with family and friends or enjoy the evening sunset.
