"Also known as Dubai World Central, this newer airport began welcoming travelers in 2013 and is still under construction; it provides access to Dubai's growing southern end and is slated to become the world's largest airport when completed." - Alison Fox Alison Fox Alison Fox is a Travel + Leisure contributor. Had a smooth experience at DWC Dubai Airport. It was less crowded compared to DXB, with plenty of free parking available. Everything from check-in to security was quick and easy, which made travel stress-free. However, there are limited facilities and dining options, so plan accordingly. Great for a hassle-free trip if you’re looking to avoid the busy main airport. Also its far from city so plan it accordingly.

Welcome to the future of Dubai aviation. Al Maktoum International Airport, once completed, will be the largest passenger-handling airport in the world. It has already passed its infancy and is well on its way to achieving the vision of the Ruler of Dubai and the aspirations of its people

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ An airport of the future — for now, filled mostly with silence. Officially, this is the site of what’s promised to become the world’s largest airport. In reality — there are five departures a day. And hundreds of empty chairs. 📍 What’s great: • Immense space, natural light, and absolute quiet. No queues. No noisy announcements. • The waiting area feels like a scene from a retro-futuristic film — red and green seats in perfect order, and no one around. • All formalities run smoothly: security, gates, boarding — no stress. • A surprisingly peaceful place to transit or just pause between moments. 📉 What’s strange: − The terminal feels half-finished. No cafés, no shops, no lounges. − Just five flights on the board — mainly Pobeda, Flynas, and Fly Cham. − Feels more like an ambitious sketch than a fully realized airport (yet). ✈️ If you see this place as a threshold space, DWC offers a meditative, surreal experience. If you’re expecting action, energy, or anything that feels like “Dubai” — it may confuse you. 📸 Photos included: live departures screen, empty waiting hall, dock access at the water.

a unique travel experience that stands apart from the bustling Dubai International Airport (DXB). While it may not be as widely recognized, DWC provides certain advantages, particularly for travelers seeking a quieter and more relaxed journey. One of the standout features of DWC is its free parking. Passengers can enjoy complimentary parking for up to three days, making it an excellent choice for those embarking on short trips. The parking area is spacious and conveniently located near the terminal, ensuring easy access for travelers with luggage. After the initial three-day period, parking fees apply, but they remain affordable compared to other airports in the region. There is no direct metro or train connection to the airport. Public buses, such as the RTA Bus F55, provide service to locations like Ibn Battuta Mall, but these routes may not be as frequent or convenient for all travelers .

Many people are not aware of this International Airport to come to Dubai. It's an old Airport but big in size, less crowded and easy to get out in arrival. Smart gates are there for easy transition from immigration. Little bit far from down town compared to Dubai International Airport. You have to catch Taxi only to come and go, no other mode of transportation. Hardly some passengers were there.

Al Maktoum Airport is such a stress-free alternative to the busier hubs. Check-in and security were quick, and the whole experience felt smooth from start to finish. For frequent business travelers, the efficiency here makes a huge difference.

Our visitors from America had the most fastest passport control stage at DWC. Amazing airport facility and very polite employees. This is really the most high standards airport in the world. Thank you UAE for bringing a wonderful experience for our guests. Thank you Dubai. Thank you for everyone who made this airport comes true ❤️

Airport staff was good . Still it looks like it’s under construction. The backrests of the seats in the waiting area are positioned in such a way that they are directly touching each other. This creates an inconvenience, as someone sitting on either side may unintentionally bump heads or shoulders with the person seated behind them if they are not careful. To improve the design, it would be preferable to leave some space between the backrests of adjacent seats. This adjustment would make the seating arrangement more comfortable and convenient for everyone. Hopefully authorities will do needful.
