Wine bar with great sandwiches. "The one with tuna salad, radicchio, and horseradish may be my favorite sandwich ever." - Katie Parla Pop into the nextdoor Casa del Parmigiano for cheeses and cured meats, then hit the Rialto Market (mornings only, Monday to Saturday) for a crash course in the Veneto’s produce–look for vegetables from the nearby island of S. Erasmo, and for lagoon fish (labeled nostrane). Also near Rialto is All’Arco, one of my top spots to grab a bite and a drink on the fly.

Our favourite place to grab a glass of wine (or two!) while we've been in Venice. The selection of both red and white is excellent, and the prices can't be beaten anywhere we've been. Almost everything we tasted was delicious and the staff are great at recommending according to your tastes and preferences. Not seating, no facilities, no frills. Just great wine.

The baccalà cicchetti was out of this world, and the other two cicchetti with different kinds of ham were very good too! The friendly owner recommended me to pair them with a glass of "sante rosso" red wine, which was smooth and delicious!

Google
Seriously solid. Seems unsuspecting from the outside but food and wine were exceptional and at the cheapest prices I've seen in Venice! The staff are quite friendly and recommended some wine which was really excellent. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Google
We found this place without any recommendations etc just walking around the city. The people who run the business are really nice. You could tell how much people were enjoying having their drinks outside without being that crowded. 3.50 for an aperol on a glass, where else can you find that?

This place is an absolute must for anyone looking for a place to grab a quick bite and a good Venetian spritz or a glass of wine with the locals near the Rialto Bridge. Since I did not want any of the touristy places, I loved it here and went often. This tiny, cozy, budget-friendly spot is perfect!

Google
Definitely one of the most renowned and typical “Bacaro” (Venetian term for a bar that offer an “ombra” (small glass of wine) or Spritz and a “cicchetto” (little sandwich)). Just behind Rialto Bridge this bar is basically a small counter which displays on chalkboards the list of wines. Get the famous Venice born 1920 Spritz Select (3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Select Aperitivo and 1 Splash of Soda, garnished with a green olive) and eat a couple of 2€ each cicchetti (meat, tuna, eggplant croquettes, ham and cheese, Etc.). No seats, the beauty is sharing a glass of wine standing on the beautiful old Erbaria vegetables market enjoying Italian sun sipping wine. Truly great price-quality ratio and poetic experience.

Google
Absolutely come to this place if you're in Venice, have a little sandwich and a spritz or wine on your way to somewhere, or simply hang out there all day having spritz and ham I wouldn't judge.

Google
If you are looking for a place that is super central (think Rialto bridge) and still removed from the crowd, that is full of locals, that serves Venice typical "cicchetti" and that offers a great selection of wine by the glass, then definitely visit Al Mercá. My coppa was tasty and my bread still crunchy even if it was the end of the day. Good wine, extremely reasonable price. Only drawback: there's almost no seating place. Just 2 small benches sitting 2 people each. Outdoor and not super comfortable. But don't let that stop you. The real Venetian way is to enjoy small nibbles standing & chatting. Ideally as part of a tour of places like this 👌

Yelp
The best spritz I had in Venice was from here. A great value at 3 euros. It's the only place I found that puts an olive in it. I don't know if that's something they only do or that's how it suppose to be made. They also have a delicious selection of mini sandwhiches for 2 euro and polpette which were all delicious. If I come back to Venice I'm definitely stopping here.

Yelp
it's a ritual to get the 2 euro sandwiches. it's fun, cheap and they offer a decent wine selection

Yelp
For a quick bite of cold sandwiches and/or a drink this place is great! I had a tuna sandwich and it was really good and to drink a spritzer. Delicious quick snack after walking around Venice.

Yelp
Visited: Spring 2019 We arrived just when they were opening up in the evening, so we were able to quickly order and get a small table by the side. The place is relatively small and gets busy. We stopped by for a quick snack and ordered a sandwich and drink. The sandwich was alright, nothing special, but the Aperol Spritz was enjoyable.

Yelp
A very COOL and very AUTHENTIC way to eat Venetian food! Probably my favorite lunch in Venice as we came here on a food tour! The mini sandwiches are to die for and the view is spectacular! I got the buffalo cheese and tomato YUM! And tried a few others that I can't remember right now, but trust me! Get your bad self a glass of Prosecco and 2 or 3 of these little sandwiches and you're good to go to explore your day in Venice!

Yelp
What a friendly and fun place for tasty cheap sandwiches and spritzer, just a short walk from Rialto, just a walk-in place with lots of young patrons stopping in for fun and eats

Yelp
Great local experience. Grab a delicious glass of wine for a good price and hang out in the square while you drink it. Very fun.

Yelp
Nice place to stop by for a quick drink while walking around the city. The wines range from about 2 euros to 4.5 euros and they have a pretty decent selection. Don't expect this to be a bar to lounge in and talk, it's literally a stand where you order and then go off to the side and stand and socialize. They have a variety of little sandwiches and croquettes to order, but later on in the night they do run out.

Yelp
This is a great stop for a quick refreshing glass of wine or spritz. We came here one evening and had a great time joking around with the servers and had good conversation with an Australian traveler... I think sometimes if we had good interaction with servers or other folks in their adventures I tend to like a place a little better and this has that, good atmosphere friendly people. Good choices on wine and spritz and great little sandwiches to try. Loved it and highly recommend it if in the area.

Yelp
Aperol spritz was yummy - crostinis were not (the bread was too tough.) I know that Italians like to stand around and socialize, but if you don't have tons of friends there and are just trying a local hang out spot... it's super awkward to balance your food and drinks standing up with no tables... I don't get it shrug

Yelp
Slinging spritzes like crazy! Went here for apertivo and it was packed with a younger crowd. Very hectic but yet much enjoyable. There are several other wine bars and cocktail bars in the campo, so it makes it an excellent spot for bar hopping before dinner.

Yelp
This restaurant was fine. The upstairs seating was a good way to get out of the chaos on the street down below. The service was perfectly functional. But the food was really just okay. And the bathroom was absolutely disgusting.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick spritz. Great prices. Keep in mind there aren't tables outside, just a bench or two. Still enjoyed stopping by for an apertif

Yelp
Great place for a small bite and cheap wine. The small sandwiches are thoughtful meat and cheese pairings and the wine list is decent and extremely cheap. 4 sandwiches and 3 glasses of wine for 12€! We will definitely be back for more before we say goodbye to Venice. Highly recommended.
