Al Sahaby Lane Restaurant

Don't come here if you're very hungry. It took 1 hour for the food to be prepped. For a restaurant that knows it's takes time to make food, they should provide complimentary appetisers for waiting guests immediately after order. Our fries was cold. Camel dish was absolutely tasty. Pigeon was interesting and new flavour. View and seating is good. We were given wrong item and charged but manager resolved it instantly. We are grateful for that. Lots of room for improvement.

Lovely place to dinner and see the spectacular views from the rooftop. Food was nice, specially the traditional dishes. Kids asked for burgers and the meat was a bit overdone but the soups and tagine dishes we had were very good. We also asked for some fruit juices that even if nice had a bit too much water. It was not the fastest place but with the fantastic views it was not a problem at all. I really recommend this place and the prices were quite reasonable.

I’ve been here three times. Food is good, traditional, service is slow but you can enjoy the view and the light wind. Nice to stay in the city center but far from the mess of the souk. You enter in a door near by the kitchen at ground floor and you go up till the 5th floor and you are in a good terrace. Price is fair, aligned with local restaurants.

What a wonderful place to escape the busy streets. Very conveniently located on the rooftop of the hotel we are staying at. We are here both nights and it was fantastic. There are many Egyptian dishes on the menu making it easy to try different things in one place. The staff are always smiling and the communication in English was great too. Abu Zizo was attentive and welcomed us back on the second visit (he remembered us from the previous night).

Other good reviews are not wrong. Very relaxed place on the rooftop overlooking the Nile with views across to the valley of the kings - lit up at night. Food is excellent and a lovely chilled atmosphere with kind staff (even when busy). For a vegetarian there is a lot of choice between traditional Egyptian dishes. The Mahshi, Feteer and Sambousa all excellent. Other customers all seemed happy as well. I would highly recommend a visit here whilst staying in Luxor.

I Ate only vegetarian meals. Really nice hummus and baba ganoush, fried cauliflower. If I compare to all meals I’ve had in Egypt (Cairo, Aswan, Luxor) this gets a 5 star. Salad was fresh and good! Hassan was of great service. Also the toilet was clean!

My husband and I visited this rooftop restaurant in Luxor near Luxor Temple and were amazed by its fantastic location overlooking the Nile River. The food was delightful and very affordable. The staff were polite, attentive, and efficient. We also had the pleasure of chatting with the manager, Ahmed Ali, who was extremely friendly and approachable. We stayed from 3 PM until sundown because the atmosphere was so cozy and relaxing. We will definitely be coming back!

The best experience in Luxor! Sadiek was really kind and helpful! The restaurant is very beautiful, with a magnificent view of the Luxor temple and the Valley of the Kings. The cuisine is varied, affordable and highly recommended. Very good!! Se you sooon
