One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Not something that I never ate, but every ingredient and every taste were perfectly executed. For places like this one, it’s worth making the journey to Italy.

Wow. Is all I could say after I finished my meal here at Al Sangiovese. From the risotto to the dessert to the potatoes, everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Pair that with the most warm and inviting service by the beautiful owners and you’ve got yourself the perfect night. It’s been weeks since I’ve tasted the truffle risotto and I’m still dreaming about it. It was THAT delicious. I cleaned the plate! And the side of potatoes - oh my goodness I didn’t think potatoes could be that good!!! Just the perfect amount of salt, fat, and herbs that is oh so crisp and buttery. I could go on and on about just how amazing the food is and it still would not be enough praise for this amazing establishment. Thank you so much to the owners for making me feel welcomed. Reservation highly recommended as it gets very busy. Grazie mille!

We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. The service was very good and friendly. The portions were generous and the plats were homey.

By far THE BEST restaurant I have visited in Bologna. The staff is so so nice, the food is incredibly delicious. I could almost cry by how nice and flavorful everything was. Even though I like discovering new places: I will come back here. Definitely would recommend the platter with the mortadella mousse, prosciutto and bread; it surprised me the most, cause I thought it would be a quite ‘basic’ dish, but the flavors, quality and caramelized figs and balsamic onions really blew my mind. Also the authentic (green!) lasagne was amazing.

We ate the lasagna bolognese and it was very authentic. Better than my mom's. The host was very kind. We considered driving back there for 2 hours just to eat there again. Great food and service, can recommend.

Nice small restaurant conveniently located very close to the centre of town. Warm, welcoming atmosphere, no disturbing music in the background, cordial and efficient staff. Traditional local menu, well delivered: we tried two different appetisers and three different pasta dishes (which we duly cross-tasted), all very good, with no room left (for this time)for the attractive desserts shown on the menu. The bill for the three of us was €93. We will go back.
