Al Wadi Restaurant

What a fantastic evening, food amazing the Moutabal is off-the-chart good. The bread is up there too. Portions are massive, shish and kofte are excellent. Smashing place, great historic photos of Petra's Treasury inside, amazing to think it was abandoned and overlooked only 70 years ago. Avoid the Petra gate hotels and food options and travel up to Downton Wadi Musa for genuine food.

This restaurant was rated as one of the best in Petra, hence we were curious to try this place. The food was really good and authentic. The atmosphere was also good, and while the town and nearby area was busy it added to the vibe of the restaurant. It’s very centrally located to the Wadi Musa town and was closely located to Petra.

I visited Al Wadi because it’s one of the highest-rated restaurants in the Petra area, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to the hype. While the location is convenient, especially for tourists visiting Petra, I felt the food and service were underwhelming. The dishes lacked the freshness and flavor I expected, especially given the strong reviews. Service was rushed but attentive. It seems like the high ratings might be more about the location and limited local options rather than the overall quality. If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, you might want to explore other spots or manage your expectations.

I highly recommend the Mensaf here. Very tasty! And great fresh juice. Abrahim gave good tips for our travel and made us feel well taken care of with complimentry tea.

Great food and atmosphere! Jeff was an amazing server that made sure that everything is perfect. The food was delicious and quick to arrive. He also show us the traditional making of tannur(local bread) as seen in the video.

I am Algerian and I had a really nice experience in this restaurant. I want to thank especially FAHEM who where very nice to us and also Houssam who took a pictures of us and wrote the history of this place to us. The food is very delicious. Very nice stuff ❤️

An excellent restaurant in Petra in the downtown area with a decent menu of soups, salads, starters, local traditional and international dishes, drinks, and desserts. The restaurant is an old building that is very well designed with paintings and antiques, making it look and feel nostalgic. Food portions are enough for one person, and dishes are very tasty. The bake traditional Jordanian bread. Staff are very friendly, and can speak several main languages. They accept cash and card payment. Parking can be slightly challenging though one can park almost anywhere.

One of the best dining experiences of my life. The hummus, bread, salad... were delicious but the maqluba and camel meat was spectacular. The staff were super attentive, very nice at all times, they even gave us a demonstration of how they made the bread. If you visit Petra, this is a place you have to visit.
