Christian was an extremely helpful and gracious host, and my mother and I had a lovely stay at his B&B. We originally were planning on being there for only a couple of days but extended it to a week and wished we could have stayed longer. The B&B itself is fascinating--extremely creatively decorated and filled with antiques and memorabilia. The room was very quiet, comfortable, and clean, and every morning we enjoyed eggs (any way we wanted them), fresh croissants, and home-made jams. We will definitely be back next year!

My sons, 2 of their friends and I stayed at Alacoque B&B for 2 nights this month. We loved it! The B&B was quaint, comfortable and clean. Peter served us wonderful breakfasts on the outdoor terrace! The house is very interesting, the rooms were great and we enjoyed sitting in the backyard. It was great to have parking included. The location was perfect. Thank you Christian for hosting us!

We spent 4 nights here in September. Our first impression gave us some qualms about whether we chose a good place to stay. The building, part of a row house, is very old & minimally updated. There are exposed stone walls & crooked staircases. Our room on the lower level however was a good size with an ensuite. We enjoyed eating breakfast on the 3rd level balcony. The breakfasts were basic - eggs & toast. We were able to park inside the junky garage off the back lane & left the car there for the duration - we like to walk everywhere. A big advantage of the B&B is its location within walking distance of Old Montreal, Mount Royal, St Catherine's Street, etc.

We had a great stay at Alacoque B&B Revolution in mid December 2017. The B&B is a quaint home conveniently located near Place des Arts and LE GRAND MARCHÉ DE NOËL DE MONTRÉAL! Christian was a wonderful host, providing us a full breakfast, including eggs cooked to order, cereal, home made marmalade and yogurt, and of course croissants, coffee, and orange juice.||During breakfast each morning, we visited with Christian who was a great help planning our day. He gave us a map explaining how to walk via the warm indoor underground mall all the way to Basilique Notre-Dame de Montreal. Also, there are several nice restaurants within walking distance on St. Laurent and it's an easy walk to the gates of Chinatown. If you're traveling via rental car, the free garage is a great money saver.||If you're looking for a true Canadian experience, this is the place for you.

We planned the Labour Day weekend in Montreal. We booked and confirmed our reservation of 3 nights at this B&B, but when we arrived, the house was dark and closed up. After knocking at the door, an email, and 2 phone calls, finally, after a half hour, we reached our supposed host by phone. He said that we didn't have a reservation and that he was 3 hours away, leaving the city for the weekend; the conversation ending with 'what do you expect me to do about it?' While we were left standing on the steps with no place to go or stay, with a few additional phone calls, we were able to salvage our weekend, staying night 1 at a truly lovely B&B who recommended and arranged our second and third nights on our behalf, though in different parts of the city. We do not recommend anyone to stay here; if you do, remember, you were warned.

I did not like my stay at this property. At all! On the plus side, the location is hard to beat, close to Place des Arts and the subway. Very convenient. I found the owner Christian to be nice, a little odd but in a good way. Now, I had a few issues, to say the least. My room was small. The mattress was the worst I have ever experienced. I could feel the springs poking me when I rolled in bed. I woke up frequently during the night, with backaches. I could hear the floor squeaking upstairs all the time. But the absolute worst was the bathroom. Tiny, you can''t close the door for privacy as your legs are in the way. The sink is over the toilet and it is tiny; it is impossible to brush your teeth cleanly as there is a cupboard sticking over the tiny sink. The mirror is too high to shave if you are under 1m75. The toilet paper roll cannot be reached if you are sitting down. Getting in an out of the shower is difficult. And yes, there is kind of a musky odor throughout.

I had a real horrible experience with Christian, I wish I would have checked out my fellow reviewers earlier. Basically was greeted arrogantly, the rooms smelt bad and were far from appealing let's put it that way. The biggest issue was this Christian guy, who in my humble opinion should not be working with other human beings. He did not make you feel at ease or even welcome. By the time I got to the back garage to park my car after following all of his rules, I felt the place was not right for me and wanted to turn back and go home. I politely expressed my points, and he immediately slammed the garage door down like a lunatic and was yelling through the door. He also said he would charge the room. This is a bad representation of historical Montreal, I am not proud of this place. Felt bad for the poor Americans trapped there for the night, as I drove back home from this hellhole. No amount of fresh croissants or homemade jams make-up for this type of $**#.

Google
funky older historic 3 stories building. If you are looking for "US type housing" this is not for you. The owner is eccentric and soft spoken. The house is a little bit of this and a lot of that. Some rooms have private baths, other do not. Inquire upon reservations. I always stay at the BB Revolution when in Montreal. Close to everything on foot. And yes , I am a bit eccentric. Not your typical traveler. Christian offers freshly made croissants and pain au chocolat if you want them and other breakfast items. The old solid oak dining table sits 8 persons and is perfect for international conversation. And yes, you can contact me. I live and work in Seattle.

Yelp
Fabulous location. Near metro. Lots of places walkable from here. Close to UQAM/McGill and many Jazz Fest venues. Found this B&B through Bookings, and it was well priced and convenient to the conference I was attending at a UQAM branch .5 mile away. My flight arrived at 7:30 AM, so I had asked (prior to arriving )if I could check in early or leave my luggage at the B&B so I didn't have to take it to the conference with me all day. Christian, the owner, was extremely accommodating, told me to come directly from the airport, and not only allowed me to check in early but also greeted me with coffee and a full breakfast. The home is historic and quaint with interesting antiques. The room was comfortable. I stayed in the "Eva" room (top floor facing the street, across from UQAM-Science) that had its own private bath which was small by American standards but functional. The central a/c was COLD; the bed comfy. The house was quiet, and I met lots of tourists from Europe, Canada, and parts of the US during my 5 night stay. Breakfasts were served on the back porch (weather was delightful) and each morning Christian baked croissants, scones, and pastries. Christian made eggs to order (scrambled or over easy). Coffee was strong. Conversations were interesting. My husband met me here for the weekend. Christian allowed the same early check-in for him, as I was at the conference. He also allowed us to leave our luggage there til later in the day when we checked out so we could explore more of Montréal. WiFi worked fine. There was a flat screen TV and a CD player in the room but I didn't use either of them. We found this B&B a good value and quite accommodating with a European feel (Christian is originally from Paris). The location and price can't be beat for this section of Montréal. We'll be back.

Yelp
Pluses: good location between old Montreal and McGill; free parking; gay owned and gay friendly, but not a "gay" B&B; all kinds of folks stay there. Chockablock with antiques if you're into that. Open kitchen where you can make coffee or tea any time. Separate entrance for guests; you get a key to your room and the front door. Free wi-fi worked fine. I didn't like: slightly sour smell to the towels, watered down orange juice, croissants recycled from the previous morning.

Yelp
My partner and I had a LOVELY time in Montreal, in part due to such a good hosting by Christian at BB Revolution. First off, this is a great location. On the fringes of downtown, you can walk to pretty much anything or grab a metro to places scattered further about the city. The B&B is actually two rowhouses connected through the front entrance, one is given a key and can enter and leave as they should so please. The decor is very interesting with old french posters and lots of handmade glass art. We had a room on the bottom floor that opened up into the backyard. We were given a room with a private bath (although micro in size) even though we did not ask or pay for one. A couple things make this a great value. Breakfast is included with 2 eggs, croissants, bread, jam and coffee. This can easily save $25 for a couple. Also, locked garage parking is included for the duration of your stay. This can save another $15-20 a day and is very convenient. Lastly, Christian was very courteous, while a little quiet, we had a great time interacting with him. Peter, his god-son, was also very friendly and a bit more talkative and I'm sure a great resource but we did not meet him until we were leaving.

Yelp
This place was in a great location, and having parking was nice as well (even though the owner had us drive down a one-way street the wrong way to get to it, which really freaked me out). I can't give this place more than two stars though because of a few things. First of all, the place was old. I usually like staying in older homes with character, but this place felt musty, outdated, and extremely crowded due to all the antiques and knickknacks stuffed everywhere. The bed linens and towels were kind of gross. Clean, but old and pilling badly. Secondly, breakfast wasn't that great. I ended up having to buy something else every morning (to be fair, my husband was fine with it). And finally, the wi-fi didn't work the entire three days we were there. The owner kept saying that it would get fixed, but it never was. I wasn't expecting the ritz, but this place did not impress me. if I ever return to Montreal I'll be staying somewhere else.
