Alamanda Palm Cove by Lancemore (Cairns, Queensland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A half-hour up North Queensland’s coast from Cairns, Alamanda Palm Cove by Lancemore serves up a tropical idyll par excellence, complete with blissful ocean views from its beachfront suites, beneath cartoon-like coconut palms. The concept is residential, its units available in one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations, each one spacious, stylish, and full of light, complete with dedicated dining areas and kitchens with Nespresso machines. The Alamanda Spa and the Nu Nu restaurant, featuring the cooking of Master Chef alum Nick Holloway, are major draws, as are the three pools — one adults-only — and the direct access to the beach." - Tablet Hotels

We had a fabulous stay. Love all 3 pools and the rooms were perfect. Spent night times on the balcony playing cards over looking the pool. Walks along the beach only a short distance. Love the area with beautiful palm trees making it very tropical. Thanks to the cleaner and the whole staff for making our stay a very pleasant one.

We highly recommend this exceptional accommodation. The location is unbeatable, right on the beach looking through the Palm trees to the sparkling blue sea. Our apartment was extremely clean and very comfortable, with complimentary champagne, chocolates and very nice toiletries etc. The pools and gardens are beautiful too. The thing one big thing that really stood out however, was the staff . The reception staff went above and beyond expectation, ( particularly the lovely Gaby ) to make everything perfect. We stayed at the Alamanda for our wedding night, and Gaby and her team did everything they possibly could to help out and make our special occasion a most special and memorable one.

Absolutely fabulous experience. Relaxing sea views, easy walk to everywhere on the seafront and a spotlessly clean BBQ in a garden setting to enjoy a meal of steak with Aldi lobster tails. So relaxing… I’m nearly falling asleep frim the effort of writing. Like Arnie once said,” We’ll be back”.

Enjoyed this luxury hotel. Everything included in the 3 bedroom apartment that we needed; even umbrellas. Our room was upgraded to beachfront which was superb. We overlooked the chapel which had weddings most days; helped make it feel special. The ocean noise was relaxing. Location was handy to restaurants and cafes. Numi’s is a must for ice cream. We loved experiencing all the different cuisines and cocktail bars. Miguel’s was a highlight for us; we loved El Greko’s too and the waitress recommended Palm Cove Spritz which we all adored.

The hotel is drowning in lush, tropical greenery. The ocean side is spectacular as well. Suites are large ( we had a 2BR, 2BA suite) with a giant balcony. Bedrooms themselves are not large, but that's hardly a negative since one spends most time in airy living area or outside.|Location is great - its on the quiet end of the "strip" with a grocery store next door and within 5-15 mins walk of all restaurants along the beach. |We would definitely recommend a stay here

We stayed in a Beach Front room on the first floor for 5 nights. Amazing view, great 1 bed apartment, spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. Great location and some lovely bars and restaurants that you can walk to for dinner. I loved the Yoga every morning and used the Spa services twice and had top class service. All in all a wonderful trip and the staff at the Alamanda were all very helpful

We booked a two bedroom suite for our family of four with two young children. We were given a room on the top floor. The balconies are low with a concrete ledge, perfectly inviting for young children to climb, and so our 4 year old straight away climbed the ledge and leant her body over like it was a gymnastics bar. Thank god I was standing next to her because if not, she might have fallen from three stories high. The same experience was had by our friends staying in a separate apartment and we both started the trip feeling uneasy. There was no child safe lock to the balcony, kids can open themselves, so we just had to be on balcony watch all the time. The kids bedroom window similarly had no lock, and could swing wide open to the car park three levels below. I went to reception and was told by the manager that they are aware of the issue and are planning to put some caps on the windows at some point. How terribly slack and negligent. We also found our apartment to be dirty. The kitchen cupboards were disgusting, the showers were mouldy, the carpets must have been 100 years old, along with some of the cushions. The bedside table was so grubby and they had placed an old stained mat over the top of it. The place had a musky smell, almost fishy, which was very off-putting. I asked reception if they could please send a candle or something to mask the smell but that request was ignored. Our friends seemed to have a better apartment than ours so I assume they are individually owned and furnished. Alamanda needs to improve their standards. They are charging top dollar and spending nary a cent on upkeep (or safety). We also found it inconvenient with young children that there is nowhere to get food or even a drink at this hotel. We were offered breakfast vouchers for Nunu next door which we took. Alamanda charges $30 for a kids breakfast which got us a kids sized smoothie and 3 slices of watermelon. Don’t take this offer! If you buy the same kids breakfast directly from Nunu it will cost you half the price. On the positive, the apartment is very spacious with lots of room, so much potential to be amazing. The pools are nice, the kids had lots of fun in the lagoon pool. But even so, we definitely won’t be back, Alamanda.

Best accommodation we stayed at ! Excellent service from front office to housekeeping, the only accommodation we notice that had lounge chairs by the beach under the beautiful palms , there is a couple of swimming pools so you never feel crowded, beach yoga was amazing if it’s your thing !
