"Alamo Beer Company started production in 2014 and is now one of San Antonio’s most vibrant places to grab a drink. Expect a wide beer hall filled with picnic tables, plus live music, food trucks, and an annual Oktoberfest celebration. There are usually at least four beers on tap, but be sure to sample the crisp Alamo Golden Ale. It’s a local favorite."

This is a great brewery in San Antonio. We walked here from the Marriott downtown, which was probably a mistake given the 100 degree weather, plus we got lost trying to find the entrance! But it was worth the trip! The beer selection was great, with plenty of options for all beer drinkers. We ordered a few appetizers, which were all a big hit. Service was super nice and helpful, and it was a nice spot to chill in the AC. They also have a nice exterior area that would probably be nice at night or on cooler days. The view of the Hays Street truss bridge adds to the atmosphere. My suggestion to visitors would be to enter via Lamar Street. There’s a nice big parking lot right there with easy access again. If I get back to San Antonio, I would love to come back to the Alamo Beer Company!

The place is very chill, and the beer I got (Ultimus) was really good. We got the giant pretzel with beer cheese, very nice. Across the place was a food truck were we got some chilaquiles with brisket 🤤, really vast and fulfilling, and a chicken quesadilla, very good as well. The only thing the place lacks is more advertisement

We happened upon this brewery after taking family pictures at the Hays Bridge. So happy we did! Such a great location next to the skate park with great deals. They welcomed us in for bingo and trivia and made sure to include our two boys (8 and 5) to play. We will def be back for karaoke night when we come for our next trip to S.A <3

Hidden gem here is worth a visit. Nice location under the Historic Hays St. Bridge. Plenty of parking (which is starting to be a pain in SA), huge patio, outdoor games with shade from the Hays St. Bridge, and a skatepark next door if that's your thing. Wifi available as well so I'll be back to meander through some work with a pint or two. Beer was great and well priced. I got the Texas Juicy IPA which had a very punchy tropical citrus hit thay was very refreshing. My wife got the Hayz Street IPA, a more standard, less fruity, well-rounded Hazy IPA. Both were great, and we'll be back to try the rest soon. The food truck outside hooked it up as well. I got a pulled pork sandwich that was excellent. My wife got the loaded Brisket nachos, and let me tell you... that brisket... world class. I'm not a potato salad fan myself, but my wife said it was the best she had ever had, going out of her way to tell the cook. Basically, everything on our plate was excellent. Can't find a fault here, honestly.

Google
Wow! Big parking lot and friendly staff. Beers are really good, but not great. Food can be obtained from separate vendors. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Small sales area for merch related to site. This is a great, non-touristy place in San Antonio!

Google
Some of the beers are as good as it gets. Bring the kids for the play area ! They got music, a bounce house, and big soccer field. Tons of room to run the children. Soon to open Skatepark next door. Train comes by sometimes. Pedestrian bridge over the bounce house to keep dry and in the shade.

Yelp
Came here Thursday night Beer, Bacon and Bingo. They have trivia and bingo happening at the same time. Trivia has a different theme each week, this week was Back to the Future. We didn't try any of their food but they mostly had BBQ food and nachos on their menu. We ordered from the food truck they had outside instead. It was Filipino food. They bring the food inside right to you. We got the Adobo chicken, chicken teriyaki and pancit. They were decent. For beers, I got the Saisson. It was like a stout and had notes of coffee and chocolate. It was delicious. They also have train beer. It's a themed beer that they sell for half off every time a train drives by. Super awesome. It was mostly self-service, you go to the bar and order. But staff members do come around to clean up which was nice. I gave it 4 stars however because their beer selection was relatively limited. Would like to see more variety if possible.

Yelp
Alamo Beer Co. cool location, great beers. They had an event that was ending when we showed up so it was alittle less people there then I would've expected on a Saturday but that was bad just means more places to sit. It was our first time here and we were looking to try something new. I originally decided to try Ultimus since my first choice was sold out. My man got the Saison. The Ultimus has a subtle banana flavor that makes for a smooth, full sip. Really enjoyed this basement brew. Great place to chill, you can even walk over to Burleson Yard or if you have a scooter, go to La Ruina and make a day out of it.

Yelp
Unpretentiousness and large. Friendly staff with reasonable prices and fun atmosphere. Very casual. Large free parking lot. Site is near railway, so somewhat difficult to locate, but worth the effort. Food is via separate vendors.

Yelp
I LOVE ALAMO BEER COMPANY!!! I am not a huge fan of hazy pours but holy poo do they get it right!! The stout is definitely my favorite. Always stellar service. Love the decor and the vibe both inside and outside on the patio area.

Yelp
Very cool place. I came here to attend Chicken University, a cooking class given by pitmasters. You can go to brisketu.com to look for the different classes they offer. But this was my first time visiting Alamo Beer Company. I actually passed it up at first as the buildings sit on the far end of their big parking lot. I noticed they had a play ground for kids, along with outside seating. The inside was very nice with plenty of TV to watch sports on. I was able to try their Oktoberfest beer which was very smooth and delicious. I liked the fact that you could open a tab. The bartender was nice, friendly and was checking on the attendees to see if we need anything. I hope to come back soon and try some of their other beer and their food. I didn't ask about taking a tour, but I would love to. My apologies for no pictures

Yelp
We were in town for a graduation and my wife and I always hit up local breweries, and Alamo Beer Co. Did not disappoint! What a small work we live in, the young lady working the counter was originally from Rancho Cucamonga (if in remember correctly) and she was absolutely delightful! Of course the need matched the service we received! We loved it, and will definitely come back of we ever visits San Antonio again! Highly recommend! The place is huge and has plenty of room to sit and enjoy shine brew!
google avatar

Yelp
It was first time checking it out and I loved it! First off, there is LOTS of free parking!!! we went on a Sunday where is it happy hour all day! It wasn't to crowded which I enjoyed, it's clean, even the bathrooms, there is plenty of seating inside and outside. The beer was and I tasted the best IPA I've ever tasted here! They have some small eats/snacks, but there is also a food truck available on the grounds. It's dog friendly too. The staff is pleasant too! Good atmosphere to hang out!
google avatar

Yelp
Only came here for beer. Area was spacious. Had to request someone to grab the board games as it was secured. Took a star off because I smelled a bit smoky as I left.

Yelp
Alamo Beer Company is such a great end to a week - after office vibe! Given this was our first visit, we had such a great time. The brew selection was good and their food was too. The karaoke was everything! Everyone joined in on certain songs and overall, the ambience was amazing here. Definitely glad we not only had quality time, but enjoyed ourselves here at Alamo Beer Co.

Yelp
While I was on vacation in San Antonio I was lucky enough to stumble across Alamo Beer Company. This place was a ton of fun after a long day of sightseeing. First and foremost, the beer is fantastic. I darn near drank my way through the menu and really liked everything. I love that they have it set up so that you can simply order from you table. No need to get up and go to the bar or wait on a server. Just punch in what you want and shortly after your beer shows up. Something else I really liked is that they have $3 "train beers". I'll explain. The brewery is right next to a set of train tracks. And if a train comes by while you're there you can run up to the bar and order your "train beer" (which is half the regular price). I love that this gimmick is both fun and engaging. Another big plus that I liked was that they have plenty of TVs and are receptive to whatever you wanted to watch. While I was there it was playoff hockey and basketball. I strongly recommend you check out this gem of a brewery. I will remember the "Alamo Beer Company"!

Yelp
Karaoke Friday was a blast. My partner brought me just to try the beer. The servers were sweet and kind. The space was huge and had space for kids to play soccer away from the tables which was cool!

Christine T.

Yelp
Everything about this brewery is excellent from the staff, the drinks the ambiance and the owner has a heart of gold. I have been involved in various non-profit events and he has always been generous in giving back to the community. I highly recommend this business - the pretzels are the bomb!!!
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Awesome place. Huge outdoor area. GREAT BEER!! Kids are welcome. Located right under the hays street bridge. Did I mention the food. It smells amazing when you go in. The pretzel was not great. Would be great with a garlic butter or something but was just a big basic pretzel. Either way I would go back for everything else they offer.
google avatar

Jazmyne M.

Yelp
GREAT BEER. GREAT FOOD. Loved how the chef walked by our table and gave us suggestions of what to try on the menu. It was a slow day so we sat inside. Wish they played music. But it was still a great time. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I showed up on a Saturday night to catch up with some old friends. The atmosphere is really great here and very scenic with the bridge nearby. There's patio furniture and benches that give a really great backyard feel to the place. The service is friendly and very helpful. I ordered up the "Ala Mango" Lager and goodness!! Talk about the perfect way to sip away the evening. Go check this local brewery out and support Texas craft beer!

Yelp
These guys are the worst business owners in this city. First of all, their beer is only mediocre at best. Instead of focusing on making a decent product to sell, they focus on trying to have events on the regular that few people attend. There's maybe 3 a year that are an exception but those are mostly organized by other people and not Alamo brewing (ie barrio Muertos). Most recently, they've decided to become a karaoke bar. So if you go, be ready to have tone deaf singers blasted at the peak volume that's so loud, it sounds like cats getting it on in the neighborhood yards. Zero respect for the community - they tarnish the Alamo name and are an embarrassment to the brewing and local community. Awful people, awful beer, awful music and crowds of homeless people since they are next door to a community food kitchen. Why would you bother wasting your money at a business like this? Go instead to vista brewing or any of the places on Alamo just across the freeway. They make good beer and are upstanding members of the community. Those are the businesses I find more than worthy of my patronage and I spend a lot of money with them. But definitely not Alamo brewing bc they are jerks.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to partake in the Sunday Funday at Alamo Beer this weekend and while the beer was flowing, the food was unbelievably slow. We waited an hour and a half to get a small plate of pulled pork nachos. Unbelievable. There weren't any other food vendors (Unless you count the Girl Scouts and their cookies). Recipe for disaster selling alcohol and food taking 1.5 hours for a small plate of nachos. Total disappointment. The beer = 5 stars Experience = 0 stars
google avatar

Stephen O.

Yelp
Alamo Beer Company has the best karaoke in San Antonio, inside or outside, but especially outside! Propane heat provided when cold, shade provided when hot. You don't have to be a good singer, but many of the best singers around have been coming here for years. The kj is well known for their no nonsense rotation; no slowing everything down with songs in between singers, no cutting in line, just fast, friendly fun. There's even Sunday noontime family karaoke in addition to the Friday night show.
google avatar

Tara R.

Yelp
I found it strange they didn't have draft beer. Only cans. I had the Hayz Street IPA which was okay but not my favorite. They have a huge property with corn hole and endless opportunities for outdoor fun.
google avatar

Sheldon A.

Yelp
Great beer and decent food. I don't know what else to say about the beer other than it's incredible. The wings (bbq) were just ok. Maybe the other food items are better, I'll definitely be back and try more in the future. However, their outdoor seating area provides a fun time for friends and families with plenty of games and a grassy area.

Yelp
Felecia and here staff were very helpful, friendly and took great care of us! They were hosting a special car and cigar event the day we visited so half of the venue was reserved. However we found a small space at a communal table to belly up to and at one point one of the staff members came over to talk to us and sat down to talk to us for a bit. Not only did she share info about their brewery but about other breweries in the area. Felecia, the event/bar manager made sure we enjoyed the beers we were poured and if we didnt made sure we were offered something different. Huge outdoor space for those amazing weather days.....nice indoor space with a few TVs. Definitely check out Alamo Brewing! Great merch as well! Sorry Steelers bartender maybe next year man! GO CHIEFS!!! BYE FELECIA!

Yelp
Chamoy Cowboy! Get it now. Get in your car and get there as fast as you can! You won't be sorry. Alamo Beer Company is in such a unique location as it sits under the Hays Street Bridge, where you can always enjoy a bit of people watching as they walk with a loved one or just lean on the rail and watch the awesome sun set over our beautiful city. And then... there's the beer! What a great selection. Something for every tastebud. My Chamoy Cowboy was a sour with a kick! The lingering spice was wonderful!

User 9.

Yelp
Was there past two years for Distinguished Gentleman's Motorcycle Ride event and service was terrible. 45+ minutes for chips and queso !!!!! Food truck promised never arrived. Geez guys. You knew this event was happening .... Won't be bac.

Yelp
The Alamo Beer Co is off the beaten path, but really is a great place! There's a large area of both indoor and outdoor seating and a great grassy area for the kiddos. Their beer is pretty good, but nothing that had us screaming from the rooftops. I did appreciate that they had non-beer options! Cause it really is a fantastic place to enjoy even if you aren't a beer drinker. We went on the first day of Octoberfest for the brewery so there were lots of people and still lots of space and service was good! We got a soft pretzel to eat and it was good, once again nothing amazing. The Beer Co is a great place to catch up with friends with a beer or to get out of the house where your kids can run around while you have a beer. I have one of those places back where I'm from and they are an absolute staple. However, being a tourist it did lack a lot of appeal I feel like it has for locals. If you're visiting the area - I'd skip it. Let's leave this one for the locals!
google avatar

Gregory G.

Yelp
Great service, great drink options and love the atmosphere. Lately there has been some tasty food truck visitations. Great place to bring your dogs for patio sitting and seem to have enjoyable events quite regularly from Karaoke to live shows. As far as drink options... try the sour, the IPA, and if available... their saison!
google avatar

Yolanda C.

Yelp
Had the pork belly bites over coleslaw. Very tasty although I like my pork belly a little more crispy..the golden draft was delicious

Natalie D.

Yelp
Service was quick and friendly. Tried a little bit of everything and it was pretty tasty. The pretzel was the best, stouts were delicious. Definitely recommend coming and giving this place a try!
google avatar

Yelp
66 minutes and no food . Watched 4 customers who ordered after I did receive their food. Not friendly visiting from out of town they must only cater to the locals ?
google avatar

Ruby G.

Yelp
I decided to visit this weekend when they had the Rat Rod Car Show. Unfortunately, I had the same employee, Eric, wait on me. I remembered him from my previous visit. I could not remember which beer I preferred so I asked him for a couple of samples. You would think I had asked him to cook me a steak dinner. He comes across as bored, uninterested, and annoyed with assisting me. How disappointing to come out for a nice afternoon in the hot sun to this location only to be treated with such disregard. I remembered him from the last time I came out. He made me feel the same way then. There are a LOT of other Breweries in SA and I certainly think I will visit one of the others next time around. It's too bad Alamo Beer Company has someone like him waiting on customers.
google avatar

Bruce F.

Yelp
The food is outstanding and plenty to choose from. I'm drinking a root beer from a local establishment that goes well with everything. Plenty of room for setting and music playing in the background but not to loud. They have games you can play and just have some fun. Service is quick and brought right to your table. Give it a try if your have never been here.

Yelp
As a transplant here in San Antonio 3 years ago, few places have impressed me quite like Alamo Beer. The variety of beers available is refreshing and I love the seasonals. From dark and mysterious to light and fruity, the selection is awesome. When I first went to Alamo Beer, the kitchen was spectacular from beer cheese to that wonderful sausage sandwich, everything I ordered was perfect. Unfortunately the kitchen has downsized. But, the variety of food trucks picking up the munchies have been great. There's a review on from a patron bashing all things from beer, to service and finally karaoke. Some people are just forever grumpy. The Friday evening outdoor karaoke has been one of my favorite places to be on an early Friday evening. From the host to listeners to singers, few places have what I can only describe as community. I've made new friends and continue to do so almost every time I go. Good singers to not so good singers, fun is the focus. And not to mention that this is one of the best family friendly venues I've ever been to. A little Sunday afternoon family friendly outdoor karaoke....YES PLEASE!!!!
google avatar

Ernesto L.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to hang out. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, family and pet friendly. Plenty of games and outdoor space to tire out the kiddos while their parents relax with a few beers. They regularly host live bands, have beer, bacon, bingo & trivia, and karaoke weekly. Their Instagram has updated event info. They have a variety of beers to choose from and some of them change with the season. They also have some seltzers or sodas for those who don't care for beer or children. They have a small snake menu but also food trucks outside in case you're craving a full meal.
google avatar

Ariana R.

Yelp
I came to meet a friend to catch up and I couldn't be happier. Great beer and great space. I didn't realize the NBA draft tonight was this night. It was a blast. Bingo and free bacon. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Rob P.

Yelp
Awesome local brewery. Fantastic selection of beer on tap with a good revolving list of seasonal stuff that comes out as the seasons change. Just with there was some full time food options.

Tammy E.

Yelp
Alamo Beer Company is a fun place to go any given night of the week; however our favorite is Friday nights when they have an amazing karaoke host entertaining the crowd. His music selection is great and he encourages singers of all ages. The food at Alamo Beer is tasty and they also have a food truck parked on property. The staff has always been kind and courteous. All-in-all, great place! Check it out!!!

D O.

Yelp
I've been coming to this brewery since they day they opened their doors. My favorite beer will always be the Amber but their brew crew has made some amazing beers over the years. The staff is always friendly. Alot of memories made here. Alot of friends made here. There is just an ambiance that you can't find anywhere else. It's the place to go for live bands, karaoke, and special events like Octoberfest, skafest, father fest, and more! So glad I get to be part of their entertainment line up.
google avatar

Lucas E.

Yelp
Solid place to grab some beers and snacks. Good vibes, efficient service, and great outdoor area. They do a lot of live music and have a great setup for it. They do have non-beer options if that is needed. Drink local!
google avatar

Rina M.

Yelp
I've been coming to Alamo Beer for over 2 years. I was drawn there when I found out they had karaoke on Fridays. I quickly became friends with the KJ and his wife, and it quickly became a place where I made many friends. I can always count on meeting up and having a great time. The staff behind the bar are great, always greeting with friendly conversation and offering opportunities to sample brews to suit your tastes before you choose. There's nothing better than a night on the outdoor patio, singing some tunes, and connecting with other karaoke enthusiasts. It's my favorite way to spend my Fridatmy nights.
google avatar

Sheri T.

Yelp
Alamo is always a great place to grab a quality craft beer and non alchohol offerings. The offerings are diverse and always good and they offers flights as well. They have food options such as brisket nachos, giant pretzel, sandwiches, etc. The brisket nachos are to die for. They have indoor seating with A/C, plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas and seating under the bridge. They often have live music on the stage and do brewery tours as well. There are yard games and there is plenty of parking! The restroom has 6 stalls in the ladies room! They also sell merch like t-shirts,, glasses, etc. Grest brewery to hang out at.
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Great spot to hang out, enjoy different beers on tap, and get food at. First off, they have spacious parking lot, despite the location being close to downtown. This makes everything easier and better! There's a great variety of beers on tap available to try. Live music and karaoke night is also a feature to check out while enjoying beer. For food, there's a variety of sandwiches and snacks in case you're hungry. They have optional spacious indoor and outdoor seating ready. Also, sometimes there are events being hosted by the brewery. A must try spot!

Yelp
This is a great brewery close to the Alamo dome and other friendly must see places. Alamo beer has events duting the week such as bingo, karaoke, live bands, car shows, etc. On some days happy hour is a great way to save but regardless it is a cool spot. Ataff is great you can take a tour they have a great inside and outside seating area. Pet friendly and kid friendly. They do have food and some choices you should try. Great vibe and you can bar hop if you like with other places close by.

Royce S.

Yelp
First, I went here to attend what is called Chicken University. A class put on by Pit Masters to teach you how to better cook chicken in various ways. They also teach Brisket, Ribs, Turkey and I believe Seafood. You find their classes at brisketu.com. As for Alamo Beer Company I really enjoyed the place. They have a big parking area, the buildings sit on the back side of the parking area, they are right by a train track and under what I believe is a walking bridge. The lady tending bar was very nice and took care of those attending the class. I tried their Oktoberfest beer which was very smooth and delicious. Oh, they have a nice play area for kids. Before the class was over there were at least 2 families out there with everyone having a good time. Indoor and outdoor seating was plentiful and their food menu look very good. I apologize for not taking pictures, hopefully the next time I go I won't forget.

Yelp
Hankering a hang out spot within the Alamo City so decided to give Alamo Beer Company a try. Tried out a couple of their beers and even their seasonal mango chamoy beer which was very good highly recommend! Ordered a Jumbo Bavarian Pretzel with a queso which is a great portion for the price. Overall the place is pretty relaxing to grab a beer and enjoy the day especially on a fall afternoon.
google avatar

Yelp
The brewery itself already has a real nice setup and it's kid friendly! The beers here are great! I always get their Amber beer. We came on a Friday night and they had karaoke event! lol being a Filipino, this is a big PLUS! Friendly people in this place, bartenders were easy to talk to.
google avatar

Truc N.

Yelp
Family and dog friendly brewery with outdoor games and board games to rent. The brewery has lots of inside and outdoor seating. The place is super cute with a rustic but modern decor. The bartenders were knowledgeable about the beers and gave amazing recommendations. Food was okay. Nothing special but the beers are excellent. The Special Dillivery was amazing. If you like michelada, this is the beer.

Yelp
This is a fun place. We started off with a pretzel. It was one of the best pretzels I've ever had. I had the BLT sandwich. It was delicious. And ended with a banana pudding. Also delicious. Great service great atmosphere clean family friendly plus a live band. Awesome place

Yelp
Great, spacious brewery that is located about 5 minutes away from The Alamo. I stopped by here on a Monday afternoon shortly after they opened for the day. I had a little trouble finding it because there is construction going on in surrounding area, but I did not give up! I knew it was going to be worth finding! I was right. They have a massive parking lot, so no worries on finding a spot. The brewery is more than just a line of taps. There is a large biergarten area with benches and plenty of games to play. Large bathrooms in a separate building as well which are super clean. While there is not a ton of seating at the main bar, you can easily find a spot to sit or stand just about anywhere else. This brewery hosts a ton a big events that draw large crowds such as Oktoberfest, a wing festival and even a weekly bacon & bingo night. My visit was extra pleasant thanks to the awesome staff. Big shoutout to Stephanie who was the best beertender I have come across in a LONG time! Super friendly, very helpful and just a genuinely awesome person who made my visit to Alamo Beer a five star experience. She helped me pick an awesome beer to enjoy and I will definitely return next time I am in the area. Bring your family & friends!

Kris W.

Yelp
Very large brewery with a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. There are various events throughout the week such as markets and karaoke. The food is good. I wish the beer selection was a bit larger but what they have is good. Service is very friendly and knowledgeable.
