Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Springfield

We came here to watch The Lord of the Rings (Two Towers/Return of the King) after AMC cancelled their showings due to weather. My family and I enjoyed this theater. The good: - Great seats - Comfortable - Good screen - Bathroom was cleaner than most. - The food is decent, not the best, but decent. - Bottomless popcorn and drinks. - The wait staff was great. The needs work: - Pricing is really steep for the quality of the food. - 18% service fee is high and then expecting another high percentage tip on top of that is off putting. - The sound needs some work, there were good moments but dialogue wasn't strong enough. Overall, a good experience but next time, we probably won't be ordering food.

This place was okay. I have been here before and the service was a lot better before! I'm not sure if they are understaffed or what is going on. They got my order and my friends order wrong. $62 later. They didn't fix it. The guy just took what was wrong off, which we were very thankful for. At the end of the movie we were given cards for our next visit. Pretty great customer service with the guy in the office. He helped me get my disabled friend and the car etc. They have a really nice bar area! The bartenders are pretty knowledgeable about the drinks/menu.

I visited this location for the first time a couple of months ago while on vacation visiting family. I've been to many Alamo locations as I am from the Austin area. This was a very large theatre and the service and food and drinks were good. A little gripe was the wait time for food - I went to a movie with my sister and my food came out 30 minutes or more before her food came out. I understand they were busy, but it would be nice to have all orders for a party come out at the same time. Other than that, the theatre was clean and the sound and image quality of the screen was good.

Personally, I love mindlessly glaring at my phone while a movie plays on the tv at my house. I love it when the drool from my agape mouth hits the phone screen and I have to wipe it off on my shirt (don't worry, I brushed my teeth today). Now they're telling me I can two-screen all I want at the Alamo with this new QR rollout. I went last night and let me tell you I was astounded that I was able to purchase my ticket, order my food, and look at tiktok with the brightness all the way up all from the convenience of my cellular device! To top it off no one no said a thing! There were like 3 other people in the theater on their phones! We all simultaneously looked up at the theater screen when the movie was loud and bright, the back to our phones when (ugh) exposition was bein yapped sbout! Yuck! I love this new policy. If anyone ever asks I just tell them Im looking at the menu! Btw here's a tech tip for anyone wanting to follow my lead; you can turn your brightness all the way up. NO ONE will care. Thank you alamo drafthouse for allowing two-screening in your theaters. You have officially saved the theater industry.

This place was awesome! This is probably the first cinema I’ve ever visited that mixed the movie watching experience with the dining experience. There were reclining seats, which I enjoyed sitting in. They had tables at the seats and the whole dining system was like a restaurant, with multiple servers in each theater! They also had good food, albeit a little pricey. They showed old music videos and trailers before the film. I also loved the space theme in the lobby and hallways. I would absolutely come back here again!

I am not impressed with the QR code ordering. The theater isn’t bright enough to even use it. The paper menus were way better. Lots of warnings about using your phone in the theater but then that’s how you order food. That just doesn’t make any sense. The Alamo ruined the whole experience with this new feature. I was also very disappointed to find out they don’t serve chips and queso anymore. They serve chips and the most watery beer cheese. I do not recommend. This used to be my favorite place to watch movies, but not anymore. I don’t think I will be coming back again.

Honestly it was a pretty good experience overall. It was our first time here and the whole experience is pretty neat. Biggest complaint was the automatic 18% service fee. If it was clearer up front, then maybe I wouldn't have been as annoyed, but to automatically slap 18% on the bill then ask for a 20% tip just seems like overkill. We only ordered popcorn and drinks and somehow a $25 bill became almost $40 after tip. I get it, you gotta pay the staff and honestly wasn't a bad price. Just felt very weasely. If you need to include the 18%, just up your prices instead of adding extra costs after the fact. That, and the old dude that was at the kids movie by himself snoring the whole time. But that's not your fault...

Alamo Drafthouse delivers seriously delicious burgers—easily one of my favorite burgers in town. Their signature “Royale with Cheese” is the one to get. The French fries are addictive. This time I ordered the hummus plate, and it was one of the best I’ve ordered in a restaurant. The hummus was seasoned perfectly and served with crisp red pepper slices, cucumber wedges, and celery (I asked them to skip the pita to keep it keto). In addition to the expected drinks, they also offer a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The reclining chairs are genuinely comfortable, and guests have always been respectful of the no-phones rule, in our experience, which makes it ideal to fully immerse yourself in the movie. This is pretty much the only theater we go to anymore.

The manager there on September 21st 2035 turned my child and two friends away on her birthday. Why? He didn't have a seat for me on the same row. It was her birthday. To buy tickets online was insane with the fees so I went in person the next day. I asked for an exception. Not to the age rule but to the "the adult has to be on the same row" rule. I could be RIGHT BEHIND HER!! It was her birthday. All she wanted to do was see Hamilton in the theater. What a JERK!' He was like talking with a computer. Sometimes you make an exception. Sometimes you show some care and compassion. I am so sad am angry. And then I called to get an email and was treated incredibly rudely by a l other manager named KIKI. All I said was I didn't want to be talked to like a computer. She would talk over me, interrupt and not let me finish a sentence. Neither of them cared or listened. They just kept repeating their policy over and over and over again. Don't keep repeating the policy. Just listen to my request. Just show a little compassion. This is HORRIBLE management. The one bright light was the sweet girl selling tickets. She was incredibly understanding but her management is AWFUL. AWFUL.

What's not to love about a clean movie theater and wait staff service? I love getting the unlimited popcorn that comes in a big silver bowl. You don't have to get the same type of popcorn each time. The first time I got the churro popcorn, and the second time we got the Parmesan truffle popcorn. I was a little bit, disappointed in the churro popcorn, and there were not very many pieces of churro in it at all The Parmesan truffle popcorn was savory and delicious, and it was a highlight.

Decided to take my wife to see the new how to train your Dragon movie. The movie tickets are cheaper than other theaters around town. But the food and drink is a bit expensive. We ordered the bottomless soda. (One sprite) and our total was over eight dollars after a service fee. The overall experience was great, but it is a bit pricey.

We had a very poor experience tonight at the Drafthouse. When they messed up and try to make it like I was the problem. We got there at 6:30 pm places the order for food to come out at 7:30. The food didn't show up until 8 pm. And it was all the way wrong and when I sent it back the young got had a problem with it. The movie is over at 8:15 8:30pm. So I asked to see the manager and after talking with him and missing some of the movie. Because of his staff he come to me at the end of the movie and said people said we were talking. I said yes when your employee asked me what was wrong with my order. All I can say is I spent a lot of money there to be treated like I was the problem.

This is a solid member of the Alamo Theater national chain. First run movies are always present; the special theme movie series are here; movie parties are on the calendar. Everything you expect from an Alamo! My only complaint is when the check is delivered. In other Alamos, I've experienced a server making a quick pass and confirming we are done ordering (quick pass with a thumbs up).  This isn't disruptive. Here, with the ticket just plopped down, I had no opportunity for a final order.  I suggest this location consider that.

I have been here before and food portion size were not as previous. I ordered the chicken tenders and they were very disappointing. As previous the tender were 3 times the size of what they are now. And they are still $16 with no statement about the size change on the menu.

Service is good, food was surprising, only downside is seats don't recline. Pretty good overall.

I like a ton about AD. Service is always great, good food and drinks, good selection of movies, lots of fun, but I avoid it for once reason - the lights that stay on at every seat. It feels like every person has their cell phone out. I get that people need lights to read their menus, but why not be able to turn them on when you need them and then back off. Very distracting IMO and the only reason I have to go to a different theater, which I often do.

Got charged $10 more than what was on receipt not including the 18% courtesy not happy

Lose 2 stars just from the forced 18% tab increase - I decide that - not you - anyone who does this imo is a POS. Other lost star for never having menu items/bad service/ cold food that's constantly happening -as well as now charging me extra to have cherry coke per coke another POS move as well as getting rid of the good press coffee and hot tea. Only reason 2 stars (at all -bottom line) is that I love going to movies and I don't wanna see another one go down and that they do (regardless of bad service) have some of the most sexy ladies serving.

Horrible, I came in with my mother and my brothers friends, my mom understood there had to be an adult present so she came to sit with me in the bar area and work on our computers, while they watched the Minecraft movie (mind you this movie is no where near rated R), they made my mom buy a ticket and go watch this stupid movie so I up and left bc the whole reason I drove ALL THE WAY down here was to sit with my mom but the people here are retarded enough to think that an adult has to sit with their 15 yr old child to watch a PG movie... how stupid is that. No wonder this place went bankrupt!! I reccomend going to AMC instead! their popcorn is better there too!!

My girlfriend lost her bag in Alamo, she called them many times to ask about her bag and they said they couldn't find it, until someone opened the airpods (inside her bag) and finally she can track it at Alamo. We went to the place and talk to them but the attitude is so terrible. They deny doing anything about it and keep saying they already donated all my girlfriend stuff. She track her airpods again and it said it was near the staff room. Then, they brought out only the airpods and said it was in the safe (even though they said it was not there at first). We told them that how come her airpods are here but not her bag. They said that they can't donate her AirPods but can do so with her bag which is ridiculous. FYI, that is a GUCCI bag.

Really liked this spot for dinner and a movie. They had several vegan options, and it was quite good. Comfortable seating and friendly staff. Plenty of parking. Food is a tad pricey so I wouldn't go here often but it was worth it for the experience.

Very nice cinema and extra comfy seating but be prepared for pricey concessions plus tips along with the cost of your tickets. No special kiddo combo prices either like most offer.

Service was HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE The timing between the order card and the delivery is still 30 min between TERMINATE THE GM. This is horribly managed

Been coming here for years. Recently came in and was given my original charge of $106 which was taken out immediately. Few days later $90 extra was taken from my bank account. No resolution. Company will not answer phone all day. Starting to get unnecessarily expensive and stealing people's hard earned money is immoral.

My favorite movie theater in the area. The reclining seats, the awesome food, good staff, and great movie selection really makes it a fun place to go. Unfortunately their menu consolidated after COVID and hasn't been the same since, but you can still get good quality food with interesting flavors for a decent price while watching a movie. You don't have to order a meal, they also have popcorn and candy and soda. Or you can just watch the movie if you don't want food or drinks. They do also sell alcoholic drinks. I also love that they show old films, remastered films, documentaries as well as your typical Hollywood Blockbuster films. If you want to have a really fun night out at the movies, this is the place to go! Definitely reserve your seats beforehand to secure a good spot in the theater, but you can buy tickets at the box office if you don't want to reserve ahead.

After the movie went to the bathroom (woman's) and that ruined what could have been a perfect experience. For the money customers spend, the bathroom was old gas station nasty. The theater was clean, recliner was adequate. Had the queso nachos tasty and plenty for 2 people. Candy cane shake good but for 9.95 it should have had candy canes stuck in it. The overall experience was fun. Ordering from your seat and getting refills delivered during the movie a plus.

Food and service has always been good for me and mine. Great ambiance as well. Get your tickets early for new releases as they tend to sell out.

What a nice concept for a complete movie going experience. From 2001 Space Odyssey decoration to good food and seat side service. Add unlimited refillable buttered popcorn to it, comfortable recliner seats and big enough screen. Seats can be reserved from their Drafthouse website. You can order variety of drinks and food as well as movie special menu, even during the movie, they will pickup the order without any disturbance. There's a little light under the table which is perfect to see the menu and order but it's not bright enough to interfere with experiencing the movie. Our order was delayed for a bit so they took half off our bill automatically.

My boyfriend was so mad and wanted to call the police but he told us that the police can do nothing and left. After 30 minutes of waiting, they left us alone without any solutions. I reached out to a girl, surprisingly is the manager, talked to her and finally get some real talking. She admitted seen my bag a couple of times and didn't know why they took my airpods out. She said why I didn't call and I told her the story. She said she would try to find out the one that talked to me on the phone when I called to found my lost bag and said it was not there but there would be no way to recover my lost. I really didn't want to make such a big thing out of it but this left me with an awful experience. I hope everyone can prevent this because many people that I know have had the same experience when they lost their stuff.

I gave four stars because I am happy to have an Alamo Drafthouse in Springfield. That said, the food could be better. I've been to a few different locations in Texas and the the food, service and overall experience was much better than this location. Bottomless popcorn is going to come room temp, milkshakes are not shakes. It's like milk with whatever flavor/ingredient blended into it. I've ordered a shake twice because I thought the first time was a fluke. It wasn't. I've tried most of the appetizers and entrees and the food overall is just ok. If we (family of five) go to a movie and have a meal, drinks, popcorn, etc, it's usually around $200. If the food was better we would do it more often. Be aware that they now automatically add an 18% service charge for food/drinks. This is not the server's tip.

Terrible business! Customer service over the phone was awful. How dare you as a human make a mistake with the online website. Now I'm out money. I'll stick to AMC.

Wow!! Recliner seats, food service, friendly service! Absolutely had a wonderful experience! Free refills on Pop and also on delicious popcorn served in a huge metal popcorn bowl! They have a full menu! They have a restaurant menu, freshly cooked hamburgers, pizza, hotdogs, nachos and they bring you complimentary water! Seats are clean and cozy!

Our kiddo earned a movie date and wisely chose this theater as it was closest ( or this what this naive mother was told ). I must have had a fever because I blindly bought tickets without really realizing the theater I was going to or having any expectations whatsoever. What can I say it's been a busy few weeks at work and with yardwork I really needed some TLC and relaxation. After coming to the theater I'm convinced that my kiddo read the yelp reviews and coyly appealed to my love of efficiency and gotten only a movie but food out of the deal. Our family has a theater like this close by and they always Collett the fancy Ooh La La theater. They adore the food and the bar and I'm convinced the movie is just an afterthought. I was pleased punch when I walked in the Alamo and realized that my kiddo tricked me into a Ooh La La theater. Hot Diggity dog!! As an unapologetic child of the 80s I was excited that my kiddo also chose the super Mario movie as their movie of choice. We ordered loaded fries no cheese and a chocolate shake. The previews to the movie were almost as good as the movie itself. I loved the 80s and 90s commercials and Super Mario YouTube videos. How fun !! The staff fabulous and I actually appreciated the already added gratuity. No one can concentrate to add tips in a place like this ! The seats are comfortable and the whole experience was stupendous.

Food is expensive and average at best. "Unlimited Soda" for $6.00 ACTUALLY means you get one 12oz and good luck getting a refill. Poor service. you can leave your red button on THE ENTIRE MOVIE, and still not be served. Then there's the AUTOMATIC 18% gratuity. A family of 4 $55.00 tickets Food : $100.00 (2 - 10 inch pepperoni pizzas and 2 - 3 pcs chicken strip w 1/2 serving of fries, 4 - "unlimited (= you only get 1)" sodas total = $155.00 + tax and 18% gratuity NOT WORTH IT! take the fam for a nice dinner and the IMAX for that price.

Overpriced and the waiters keep walking in front of you while you're trying to watch the movie

There isn't anything that I don't love about this place. The food is high quality ingredients, perfect portions sizes, great variety and reasonably priced. The selection of movies is always the best in the area. They play the biggest blockbusters movies, a large selection of smaller limited release and i LOVE the movies they bring back to the big screen. Not to mention the movie parties that they have. I've been to Bettlejuice, Clueless, Phantom of the Opera and I have upcoming tickets for Dirty Dancing. There isn't anything to NOT love about this place. I must if you're a movie fan!

I went to see The Hunger Games: "The Ballard of the Songbird and Snakes" at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. I was pleasantly surprised at how well maintained their building is and how amazingly clean their building is! Staff is very friendly--like they actually want to be at work! Not to mention, they have the fancy, comfy, recliner seats! Oh and did I mention that they have amazing (real) foods, good shakes and endless popcorn!!! I also love that their tickets are reasonably priced (comparative to another theater across town, that apparently thinks that everyone in Springfield drives Ferrari's). I ordered the tickets online, and it was very easy to purchase tickets, plus you didn't have to take out a second mortgage in order to pay for the "convenience fee" when purchasing tickets online! Another plus is the Alamo Draftshouse participates in the Fair Wages Pact--allowing for their employees to be paid fair wages!!! (This is something, I will always be able to get behind!) I 10/10 would recommend the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, when looking "to go see a movie."

It's been over a year since I've been to a movie theater and going to see Gran Turismo at the Alamo was a good time, I was by myself and had good service at the bar and in the theater the food was good a lil pricey but it's still a movie theater so no surprise lol the movie ticket, I thought was cheap though so didn't mind spending money on food and good beer. The bar is pretty nice looking and so was inside the theater with the recliners and side tables it was pretty comfortable and nice relaxed environment with attentive waiters Update: went a second time loaded fries are bomb and the beer is still good :D

literally kicked us out because we were trying to watch kung fu panda 4 and apparently for a PG movie you have to have an adult even though we're 17. guess we missed the cusp!! better luck next time!

Great seats. Great service. Good food. Pretzels with cheese is a go to. The Fresh squeezed lemonade is good, but no refills, smaller glass, and too much ice. Chicken tenders and fries are good too.

Great movie theater experience, I recommend going on Tuesdays and going to a showing with a discount ticket price. My servers have been friendly, but keep in mind I normally just get a water.

Our new favorite place to take in a movie! For us its at least an hour's drive and you really need to make reservations most of the time. But its worth it! The theaters are a little small because they use big comfy recliners, amble room between rows to move around without ever stepping on toes or making people twist. And since all the theaters are also restaurants they all have tables in front of the seating. This is all great but means the theaters hold fewer people are popular times often sell out. The service has always been prompt and friendly. They food is not great to me, but ok. I'd say mid-grade bar food. They try to be clever and fancy but its hit or miss. I've had really good pizza but a terrible hamburger. We ordered cookies that were recommended by the waiter that were dry, hard, and well tasteless. While they make really good milkshakes. I do like that they mix up the menu based on the theme of the movie, particularly for blockbuster movies. The bar is attractive, trendy and comfortable. The movie themed decor in all the halls focuses as much on retro classics as current playing movies. The format is unlike most theaters, they entrance is more like getting in a nightclub than a movie theater. Its staffed differently and the entrance is much like the host desk at a nightclub. If I had one suggestion its that the bathrooms are inadequate to the format. If two movies let out at the same time expect lines in the one mens and one women bathrooms. Yes thats one of each to cover 14 theaters which is fine if no two shows let out at the same time. Best thing? Where we live movies are $12-14 bucks and at the Alamo its $8-10. So its a good price, with great seating, good food and great bar.

Great place to take the family out. Would be better if the food was a little more better in quality, it has a fast food taste to it as if they need to change the grease. Movie and popcorn should do.

I'm done. We used to love going here but this was the second time I've found a pube type hair in my popcorn. Coincidence? Idk, maybe but the hair was the same length and color both times. Disgusting even if it is a beard hair. All the food we get here now is trash. Time to go back to AMC for now on.

Really like this theater but it's a little pricey. Tickets are standard. Not including ticket price, We had one margarita, one soda, one beer and split chicken tenders and it was $50. But I would come here again. It was clean and the food was good. Comfortable reclining seats.

Great food! Movie theatre is clean and seats are spacious. Some of the servers don't come as quick as others, but overall a nice theatre.

I came here for the weekend with my husband for date night. The 2 front counter ladies where we purchased tickets were very quiet and just stared at us. We were thrown off because it was our first time there. The bar was great. A female bartender helped us with our drinks and kind of explained to us how things are ran at the movies. Food and service was great in the theater. The seats recline and were comfy. The food was delicious and seemed fresh, way better than regular movie theater food. They already add an 18% service charge to your bill so anything extra is a tip for staff. After the movie, we went back to the bar to relax and look at the movie merchandise they were selling. If I was back in the area, I would come back. This place is a great idea for date night.

Worst experience. We bought 2 tickets online for date night. We were 30 seconds late to getting to our seats since we went to the bathroom before entering the theater. We were stopped by one of the servers 4 feet from our seats and were told we were not allowed to go to our seats since the movie had just started. He said it was policy that once the movie started we could not stay. We had to leave and go to the ticket counter to get a refund. We were also told by the ticket agent that we could not enter the theater. We will Never go back. Be aware, don't be late or go to your seats first and then get up, disrupt all the people around if you need to go to the bathroom.

I've always really like going to this theater but our experience tonight was horrible. We had to make special requests for some of the food items because my wife can't have dairy, none of those requests were honored. I was a big fan of their chicken tenders and dipping sauce in the past but they must have changed it recently and it was not nearly as good. Also, bottom of the tenders were slimy. I ordered a soda which came out after 20 minutes.. 40 minutes went by before my wife got a water.. I ended up bringing the water to her because I was going to the attendee area to ask what the heck was going on. I was offered the opportunity to bring the water to her. So brought it to her and then went out in the hallway and had a chat with one of their managers. Such a shame to see what's become of my favorite movie theater. I'll just invest in my home theater instead and stay home from now on.

I'll finish later. So far an absolutely terrible experience. Ok so yelp won't let me finish later. This place sucks! We arrived an hour and a half prior to the movie starting (instead of eating somewhere else) so that we were allowed into the movie we paid for (company policy, you can not enter once the movie starts) We we're informed that they were running a 45 minute ticket time so we could only order appetizers. We could however enter a half hour early so we were able to get our food before half way through the hour and a half movie. Once we sat down we were able to place an order 2 minutes before showtime.

I've had the opportunity to eat here a couple of times and loved both times. Last time I got one of the limited time flat breads that was tropical themed. It had crispy pork belly, jalepenos, pineapple, and red sauce with basil. Delicious! It was served quickly and delivered hot. I've enjoyed the movies here too, and love their pre-movie clips. I'll be back soon.

Probably the best movie theatre out there. I love the atmosphere, the amazing customer service, and the specials that they do occasionally. Some of the food is incredible! I love every movie more when I watch it here

Want to go see a movie on a Monday night. I was asked to leave a quarter of the way through the movie. I received a note that said to keep it down. Before I was even given a chance to do so. I received another note along with the check asking me to leave and pay. Over $200 spent for nothing. Management could not justify the reason for my expulsion.

This place is AMAZING! Staff was VERY professional, helpful and amazing. Prices are decent. Who turns down drinks and a movie? They have comfortable reclining chairs also. Such an amazing place!! I highly recommend this place.

Worst experience I have ever had being at the Alamo Drafthouse. Bought tickets through their site that specifically told me all ages because we took our friends and their baby out never ever said a word to us for 30 whole minutes and went through 10 minutes of the real movie already served alcohols and food and more. Then a rude manager in all black and hat and glasses decided to tell my friends and their baby they needed to leave when I specifically bought these tickets saying all ages. Try to explain the situation with this "manager" and he brushed me off told me the site was working fine and told me I was stupid and sat laughing at me the whole way. 1 how does a 4 month old even count when they don't even know words. 2 how can the site tell me all ages and then I'm the dumb one? Excuse me when I first tried to buy the tickets the day the movie came out it said online there was no showtimes for the whole week. So yes your site is messed up I have a graphic design degree and I build websites glitches happen next time own up to that instead of turning around and boycotting and kicking out a breastfeeding mother because your site messed up? You can't pay our gas back for the movie so that's also crummy. Wait almost a whole hour get served and NOBODY said anything. Also they don't let you express your first amendment right when you have to wait 3 business days to get your money back so I'm not allowed to have freedom of speech with my friends in a parking lot. Sooooo very funny maybe this building should of stayed shut down cause the old theatre was 100X better than this and sure as hell wouldn't do this to a breast feeding show. This is at a damn 4:30 showing early shows I clicked your stupid tabs y'all need to get your stuff straight or you will be known for non advocates of breastfeeding and more. For the "manager" to call someone stupid in the hall was absolutely uncalled for and someone should of said something from the beginning not us get to watch the whole damn beginning then say something. Just because I had a voice as a women also I had a higher up than this "manager" finish my checkout after the "manager" threw a 2 year old hissy fit getting called out for what y'all can't do. YOUR JOBS!!! I also am upset with the fact that I didn't even get one single apology towards being called dumb. For a place of business and establishment they must believe their own word is right and nothing can go wrong with websites. Guess what they do everyday own up to it instead of treating others with complete and absolute disrespect those are your customers also talking in the parking lot trying to make new plans they destroyed doesn't mean we were yelling and talking to other customers not once did I stop anybody your cameras will show that too. For once maybe your manager is the bad guy not a customer. Also I suggest before your next employee calls someone stupid they better not be disabled or more not every disabled person has to choose disabled seating.
