We have so many wonderful thoughts about this stay! The location is safe and convenient in the West End of Glasgow, with many restaurants, museums, transportation. It is near the university, Kelvingrove museum and the botanical gardens. The rooms are spacious and elegantly presented. The lighting is amazing. The staff are very helpful and gracious. The breakfasts were amazing, with freshly baked pastries, a diverse menu to meet all needs, coffee and sweet treats always out.|Please note that dinner reservations in this upscale area are always advisable.

We stayed at the Alamo recently and it was great. The place is gorgeous and photos can't really do it justice. We really appreciated all of their assistance during our stay. They were very helpful in assisting us with arranging taxis to the airport, were very accommodating with our departure and arrival times, and put us in a room with no one below us so we would not disturb anyone while packing late at night was absolutely fantastic. On top of it all, Lee put together fruit "care packages" so we'd have snacks on our way to airport early in the morning which was so very kind.

A gorgeous Victorian style decor, boutique Hotel with beautiful rooms and views to die for. I feel it’s a must do in Glasgow for an authentic local experience; will certainly come back here for a longer stay. Breakfast was delicious the best croissant ever ever had. they make it fresh right after your order. Very polite and courteous staff.. Highly recommend this place, if you’re in Glasgow for a couple of nights or even more. Rooms are designed for a couple; elegant bath area and marvelous old style windows. The locality is surrounded with gorgeous Victorian, architectural structures and a beautiful tennis lawn and see folks practicing as well. Place must be of significance at some point of time, you can tell by the demeanor of the street as well as the area around it. Thank you.

I will definitely return. Stunning stay to celebrate a special birthday. The attention to small details, style and luxurious decor brings a very cosy/relaxed vibe, making you instantly feel at home. All the staff are so welcoming and helpful. Location is perfect, with Kelvingrove park and museum at your door step, alongside a bunch of lovely restaurants and shops along the road. Free parking over the weekend. Breakfast was delicious, with good free coffee/tea/biscuits 24hrs for guests. We got two massages at the spa, which were amazing and I have recommended onto further friends and family. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Not what we expected. Linda, my wife had long admired the exclusive looking Alamo guest house. i know what youre thinking"The Alamo"? Cowboy fights? Paisley Buddies throwing glass tumblers on a Friday night? It is in a fantastic location next to Kelvingrove park museum and the legendary bowling greens. We expected views over the above , but were in a basement, to the amusement of passing pedestrians. The very compact, "shabby chic" room had many fixture faults, but was comfortable. Front of house was very friendly and helpful, up to the point where I asked for a croissant at breakfast. He then went through to the adjacent kitchen and berated the demanding customer to his kitchen colleagues. I could hear every word. To sum up, not worth the cost, unless you value " bespoke, genuine vintage" over quality.

Our stay in the Alamo Guest House was wonderful. We stayed in the Harris room. The guest house is located in a lovely and very quiet neighborhood just a few minutes from the Kelvingrove Museum. The breakfast room and lounge are beautiful and stocked with delicious treats and a nespresso machine. Breakfast was the best we had in Scotland. Totally fresh including freshly baked croissants or pain au chocolat. The staff were very helpful with suggestions, and there are tons of great restaurants nearby. The room was also stocked with coffee and biscuits. The shower was hot with good water pressure, and the room was completely quiet at night. We had a wonderful time in Glasgow and couldn’t have stayed anywhere better. We highly recommend the Alamo Guest House for your next trip to Scotland.

We were impressed with the elegant decor, less so with the small basement bedroom and the tiny shower room. I'm 5'6" and my head touched the opposite wall when sitting on the lavatory. Some of the room fittings were faulty. Front of house was a very friendly, helpful young man, until I asked for a croissant at breakfast. He went through to the adjacent kitchen and berated me to the kitchen staff. I could hear every word of his bad use, he showed his true colours and revealed the lack of class behind the fancy facade. He said in a previous review,of me, he gave his apologies for "not matching my aesthetic". Quite condescending I think.

We were only in Glasgow for one night during our Scotland adventure, and could have not picked a better place to spend it. The Alamo Suite with Park Views was spacious, luxurious and featured the best bath tub and walk in shower! Breakfast was delicious and the staff was amazing. We spent a full day of golfing prior to arriving and owner Tehmeena and her husband arranged a personal late check-in. They shared the history of the guest house and are truly committed to an exceptional guest experience. This guest house is extra special and a must try in Glasgow. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Yelp
The guest house was quaint and provided a great breakfast. It is across the street from Kelvingrove Park and a short walk from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. It is also well-situated for accessing downtown Glascow. Unfortunately the toilet did not work well in our room (#4). The owner admitted that the toilet had been malfunctioning for some time and said that it could not be fixed during our stay; consequently, it was suggested that I use the public bathroom across the hall. The guest house manager offered to reduce the cost of the room to make up for the inconvenience of having to leave the privacy of my room for the hallway bathroom. Unfortunately, the inn's owner, at the time of our stay, did not honor the concession. When I contacted him about the matter, via email, he offered gibberish. I understand that the inn was sold after our stay and is under new management.

Yelp
Extremely hospitable owners and staff. Plush, comfortable rooms with flat screen tvs and elegant decor. Very comfy beds. The bathrooms are shared, but there are enough of them that it was never an issue where I had to wait. All in all, an excellent value. Utterly adorable breakfast room overlooking Kelvingrove park tennis courts. Nice breakfast spread with bacon, eggs, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, toast, juice, and more. In addition to a DVD collection that you can borrow and enjoy in your private rooms, there is a laptop for free email/internet that you can use during the day. A fat, happy kitty cat welcomes your pets when you come in from your day in Glasgow. That makes me feel at home! A huge thank you to Steve, who went out of his way to help us with a variety of needs. He really goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are happy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Glasgow.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came and stayed at the Alamo for three nights in July 2010. We actually screwed up and arrived a day early but we were happily accommodated for the evening in one of the newly renovated, higher-end suites. The other two nights we were in a standard room which had also been upgraded with a new TV. During the whole stay the staff was very friendly and helpful. We never felt like we were putting anyone out by asking questions even when the staff was working. Things were clearly explained to us, such as when an emergency electrical problem would keep the power out for most of a day. The location is also really nice. You are across the street from Kelvingrove Park and Museum and easy walking distance of the U. of Glasgow. And with the museum right there you can easily hop on a tour bus to see the rest of Glasgow. Basically I have nothing to complain about. =)

Yelp
Stayed as a single chap in their cheapest room and it was superb. Shared bathrooms were elegant, plentiful and available when needed. Breakfast had great variety and very generous, staff were attentive and very polite, I would recommend to anyone as the perfect place to stay in Glasgow. Perfectly situated with easy access to the park, bus routes and underground.

Yelp
My wife and I really enjoyed staying here in Spring 2007. The room was super clean and comfortable and the breakfast was filling and served in a relaxing parlor each morning. Steve, the proprietor, was very friendly and helpful in addressing all our needs and the location was great, with the amazing Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum right across the street and some cool restaurants and shops within walking distance. Recommended.

Yelp
Excellent guesthouse with just the right mix of period fixture and fittings, antique furniture but with all mod cons. It has an extensive DVD library to borrow from and wi-fi access to keep you connected. The four-poster beds are luxurious and guarantee a sound night's sleep. A very welcoming place and you immediately feel that you can come and go as you please. however, the most outstanding feature is the view out of the window, which takes in the panorama of the Art Galleries, the University and Kelvingrove park,
