We stayed two nights at the Alamo Guest House. It was a clean, good sized room with comfortable bed. Quiet location within walking distance of many dinner choices. Close to bus stops and park. Our room was located in the lower level of the building and could use some updating. Breakfast was good. I do feel this property was a little over priced, but would recommend it if you get a good deal on it.

I visited the Alamo for a massage and the tea room. I have to say, being quite fussy with my massages, this was the best one I have had in Scotland. The masseuse was very attentive and listened to my preferences and really delivered perfectly. I have left feeling so relaxed, and can't wait to come back again. 100% recommend. The staff at the Alamo are extremely friendly and welcoming. It really is a 5 star experience.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at this unique guest house. We met Tehmeenah who was an amazing host. She made us so welcome. Complimentary refreshments and tablet added the the second. The guest house is quirky in a good way and the style of decor has been lovingly restored. Our room suite had a bath in the bedroom! The bed was huge! The room was spotless and again some lovely features. Breakfast was lovely and given in lots of little portions! Like a meze breakfast. We loved it. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed in the Shetland room at the Alamo Guest House and had a truly lovely experience. Although the room isn’t especially large, it is incredibly cosy, spotlessly clean, and well-designed. The bed was extremely comfortable, the heating worked perfectly, and the toiletries provided were high quality and pleasant to use. What stood out to us most was the historic charm of the place. All the furnitures had a classic character, the thick carpet felt soft and luxurious underfoot, and the entire space exuded a rich sense of history. Even though our room was on the lower ground floor, it had great natural light, and the windowsill was decorated with beautiful flowers. What a delightful touch! Breakfast was another highlight: the bacon was thick-cut and delicious, and the bread was freshly baked. It’s clear that a lot of care and attention is put into every detail here. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Glasgow!

Beautiful historic hotel in a great location near the park and a block away from a wide variety of pubs and restaurants. We were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was large, spacious and luxurious. The dining room was lovely and the breakfast was fantastic. I would highly recommend the Alamo House to anyone who plans on visiting Glasgow.

A stunning and luxurious hotel, in a great location in the West End/Finnieston. Rooms are well-appointed, and very comfortable. Free nespresso coffee machine for guests to use any time, in the dining room. You can bring your own food into the dining room until 9pm, plates and cutlery provided. Very quiet, no noise inside or outside at night. Staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of good bars and restaurants nearby. The only minor complaint I had was that the full Scottish breakfast wasn't as nicely cooked as I would have expected, and my order was taken wrongly, as I have asked for one of the items to be baked beans, and was given mushrooms instead.

The room was comfy and clean. The staff was professional and courteous. Their recommend for a fish and chips shop was excellent (Kent Fish and Chips). The breakfast was tasty. The Kelvingrove Museum is just a short walk away. There is also a nice park and walking paths just across the street. They do provide wash or face cloths.

We stayed in the Alamo suite recently over our wedding weekend at the University of Glasgow. The location was absolutely perfect for us, and the Alamo staff went above and beyond to look after us. From helping us choose the right room so all 5 of us could get ready in the morning (plus hair and make up artists), to catering for us on the day with an absolutely oustanding breakfast platter (and the breakfast in general was also incredible), and looking after us during our stay, they could not have been more amazing for ourselves, our friends and family.

Yelp
The guest house was quaint and provided a great breakfast. It is across the street from Kelvingrove Park and a short walk from the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. It is also well-situated for accessing downtown Glascow. Unfortunately the toilet did not work well in our room (#4). The owner admitted that the toilet had been malfunctioning for some time and said that it could not be fixed during our stay; consequently, it was suggested that I use the public bathroom across the hall. The guest house manager offered to reduce the cost of the room to make up for the inconvenience of having to leave the privacy of my room for the hallway bathroom. Unfortunately, the inn's owner, at the time of our stay, did not honor the concession. When I contacted him about the matter, via email, he offered gibberish. I understand that the inn was sold after our stay and is under new management.

Yelp
Extremely hospitable owners and staff. Plush, comfortable rooms with flat screen tvs and elegant decor. Very comfy beds. The bathrooms are shared, but there are enough of them that it was never an issue where I had to wait. All in all, an excellent value. Utterly adorable breakfast room overlooking Kelvingrove park tennis courts. Nice breakfast spread with bacon, eggs, croissants, fruit, yoghurt, toast, juice, and more. In addition to a DVD collection that you can borrow and enjoy in your private rooms, there is a laptop for free email/internet that you can use during the day. A fat, happy kitty cat welcomes your pets when you come in from your day in Glasgow. That makes me feel at home! A huge thank you to Steve, who went out of his way to help us with a variety of needs. He really goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are happy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone traveling to Glasgow.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came and stayed at the Alamo for three nights in July 2010. We actually screwed up and arrived a day early but we were happily accommodated for the evening in one of the newly renovated, higher-end suites. The other two nights we were in a standard room which had also been upgraded with a new TV. During the whole stay the staff was very friendly and helpful. We never felt like we were putting anyone out by asking questions even when the staff was working. Things were clearly explained to us, such as when an emergency electrical problem would keep the power out for most of a day. The location is also really nice. You are across the street from Kelvingrove Park and Museum and easy walking distance of the U. of Glasgow. And with the museum right there you can easily hop on a tour bus to see the rest of Glasgow. Basically I have nothing to complain about. =)

Yelp
Stayed as a single chap in their cheapest room and it was superb. Shared bathrooms were elegant, plentiful and available when needed. Breakfast had great variety and very generous, staff were attentive and very polite, I would recommend to anyone as the perfect place to stay in Glasgow. Perfectly situated with easy access to the park, bus routes and underground.

Yelp
My wife and I really enjoyed staying here in Spring 2007. The room was super clean and comfortable and the breakfast was filling and served in a relaxing parlor each morning. Steve, the proprietor, was very friendly and helpful in addressing all our needs and the location was great, with the amazing Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum right across the street and some cool restaurants and shops within walking distance. Recommended.

Yelp
Excellent guesthouse with just the right mix of period fixture and fittings, antique furniture but with all mod cons. It has an extensive DVD library to borrow from and wi-fi access to keep you connected. The four-poster beds are luxurious and guarantee a sound night's sleep. A very welcoming place and you immediately feel that you can come and go as you please. however, the most outstanding feature is the view out of the window, which takes in the panorama of the Art Galleries, the University and Kelvingrove park,
