Owned by the same people as Ojai Rancho Inn, the Alamo Motel is the epitome of Los Alamos, with airy rooms and clawfoot tubs.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We stayed on a weeknight so it was pretty affordable. The room was rustic but clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The bathroom could use an update but it was fine. Only issue was the tv/remote was overly complicated and impossible to use so that could be improved on. The hotel was full and we never heard anything so no issues there. Really enjoyed the fire pit and games and lounging spaces. The bar is very nice as well. Drinks were expensive but on par with the high prices in this area. Staff could have been a little more welcoming and communicative. Overall, I would stay here again.

Really appreciate the last minute accommodations traveling back to Los Angeles from SLO. The pricing was economical and the rooms were good/clean/comfortable. The yards and the little bar are perfect little hangs, even romantic in the evenings how the space lights up. But my rating is mostly driven by just how wonderful the entire staff was. It was beyond refreshing how genuinely kind everyone was. Special shout out to Sacheen, she offered impeccable service and overall a very delightful/lovely human. I'd stay here again

Google
Have stayed at the Alamo Motel twice now and both have been pretty underwhelming experiences. You pay a lot to stay in very small rooms with thin walls and fairly unenthusiastic employees. Overall, it's so apparent that the property was redone to attract trendier crowds by ripping out old furnishings, putting some white sheets on raw edge wood bed frames and adding rustic benches in the room to make it feel more Instagrammable. However, fantastic location that places everything in Los Alamos within walking distance. Likely wouldn't stay here again.

Google
The Alamo is an very well appointed upscale motel in a great location at exceptionally high price $250+ for a queen room. My biggest complaint and the reason I rated it 3 stars is that they have made the choice to be penny wise and pound foolish with incidentals in the room. We had a bath tub in our room and Motel wanted $15 dollars for bubble bath and/or $15 for bath salts. Further they wanted $4 per packet of instant coffee, which in my experience is one of those incidentals typically made available for free. Given what they charge for the rooms, it just seemed excessive and unnecessary. Hope they decide to change their approach moving forward.

Starting with the good: Friendly staff, nice fire pit area along with a bar. Comfortable king bed. Location is great too. ||The not so good: the room we had was not comfortable. Plywood flooring made the room feel cheap. The bathroom was so small. There is no where to put anything you need (toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc). The lighting in the room is terrible. The table and chairs were rickety and uncomfortable. ||Given what we paid per night, I can’t recommend this motel. There are better places to stay. With a remodel, this place has tons of potential, but as is, I wouldn’t return.

Google
This hotel is Basic with capital “B”: spartan rooms with stained plywood floors, almost no light to speak of, one of the tiniest bathrooms I’ve ever been in (reminds me of some train compartments I’ve been in!) We got a King bed, and then found out the Queen bedded rooms are better equipped, with claw fort tubs and some with kitchenettes. We were close to the road too - a bit of noise. The best part was the staff, who were very nice and accommodating. The lovely fire pit area was wasted on us, as the firewood they had was so green and wet, even the Boy Scouts among us couldn’t get the darn thing lighted. They are across the street from famous Bell’s restaurant, hence their ability to charge $300/night for the privilege of waking across the street. Recommend you stay at a better place in Los Olivos or Buellton/Solvang and Uber it back and forth. Heard there’s another property called SkyView Lodge nearby, which provides a shuttle to Bell’s. We’ll check that place out in another visit. The Los Alamos Hotel just isn’t a good value.

Google
Beautiful renovated motel right in the middle of Los Alamos’ main strip. However, we could hear every single noise from the family staying right next door, as if they’re in the same room as us. Every cough, sneeze, chatter, TV sound, and I even heard their light snores after I got woken up late at night. The front desk staff who checked us in was very lovely, but the next day we could find the other staff in the office in the middle of the day to ask for an iron. Unfortunately it was not a restful nor comfortable stay. I highly recommend the management to consider renovating the thin walls, at least the one separating room #3 & #4.

Google
We've stayed at the Alamo before and always enjoyed ourselves, but this trip we rented out the entire motel for our wedding. It was perfect! The entire team was hospitable and kind throughout the process, and the motel was exactly what we were hoping for the weekend. Our guests loved being in the center of Los Alamos, and the bar at the motel was a big hit.

Yelp
My favorite place to stay in the area. There is a common fire pit/wine bar area that is often lively and social in the evening. The location is right in the middle of town, so several fine options for breakfast and dinner are easy walking distance, There is a good market right next door. For the price, this is a good deal. Some rooms have big standalone bathtubs, and #14 is apparently a kind of suite with its own outdoor space. Rooms themselves have hot water for making tea, plus a small refrigerator. Coffee is available in the office each morning. The rooms are not perfect -- there are places where finishing details could be better -- but they are clean and quiet and comfortable, with great beds and plenty of hot water.

Yelp
I will start with the positives. The women in the office are friendly and helpful. The bed was great. Walking distance to coffee, grocery store and local restaurants. Daily maid service and clean towels are great. The text message I received said to check in at the office until 10 PM. I arrived well before 10 and there was no one in the office. I finally located someone by phone and was told to check in at the bar. Then there was no hot water at the kitchen or bathroom sink. I found out that I had to first turn on the hot water in the shower for a few minutes and then I could get hot water in the other locations. There were two places to plug in anything that required electricity, and neither was in the bathroom. They did bring me extension cords for my hair dryer. i rotated plugging in other things. The coffee maker was a Mister Coffee and needs to be upgraded to at least Keurig or preferably to Nespresso. There was no comfortable chair to sit in, but just 2 wooden folding chairs. The floor is subfloor wood. This motel needs to move into this century where possible. It is definitely too expensive for what you get.

Yelp
I'm giving this place 5 stars based on a variety of factors and knowing what it is and what it isn't. It's not an upscale 5 star resort hence the term "Motel" that is appropriately used. It gets 5 stars based on location, value and cool/hipster value. Perfectly situated in the middle of the main albeit not that busy main drag. You can walk in 5-7 minutes in either direction to get to the edges of town. Many eateries including a Michelin star restaurant across the street. A few very neat shops up and down the street and a couple of convenience stores etc. excellent breakfast lunch and dinner options and several quaint wine and beer tasting rooms. Would be nice if the motel had a pool like the sky view but it does have very nice well kept outdoor seating areas with a firepit and a small free standing bar serving drinks all day and until 9-10 at night. The staff of young ladies here were super helpful, friendly and delightful. That really makes a difference in a stay at a small place like this. I highly recommend the Sunday thru Thursday stays which range from $110-$179 a night depending on room choice. The standard rooms are pretty small but AC works well and the water pressure here is unreal!!!!! The highest pressure I've ever felt! The Skyview up the hill is definitely nicer but almost 2X the price and not a walk to town. We got the king suite which had a full kitchen, outdoor sitting area, dining room, living room and nice separate bedroom and bath. Could actually live in the space if it has a washer and dryer! I love staying somewhere that parking is free, not valet, and no resort fee! No free breakfast and the always dangerous in room snacks that are overpriced and no coffee or water in the rooms but you have spa water in the office and string coffee at 8 am in the office. They really do need to offer half n half with it as opposed to oat and almond milk or 2% milk. This added to my labeling this place as hipster but not in a bad way. I'm sure I will be returning for the rustic folksy yet hipster in town experience. Just know almost nothing is open on Mondays except Charlie's which btw is awesome!

Yelp
We love this motel. Friendly staff. In the center of town. Fire pit is amazing. Rooms are very comfortable.

Yelp
The Alamo Motel was perfectly fine for staying within Los Alamos, especially given there are limited options. The courtyard was really nice to hangout and read. They've got coffee in the mornings, and you can have a drink from the bar in the evenings. There were some board game options, a cute koi pond and fountain, a fire pit, and lots of seating. They're also next door to the only market in town which was clutch when I realized I had forgotten to pack a toothbrush. The rooms themselves were totally fine. Ours got a bit musty, and our window seemed broken or off its hinges (it wouldn't lock and had lots of condensation on it each morning). Removed a star because it could have been cleaner, especially the giant decorative pillow on the bed - it was covered with hair which was gross. I'd probably try the Skyview next time, but this was a nice, normal option for anyone coming to town.

Yelp
Nice little hotel! Clean and comfortable. Room was simple but had everything needed. Very quiet in the evenings, woke to chirping birds. Small bar on site and common area with firepit. I was there during the week, bet it is hopping on weekends. Easy to walk to coffee shop, bakery, restaurants, market. Free parking just outside the room.

Yelp
We had a comfortable and clean room with daily maid service and a reasonable mini-bar in the center of town with free parking. It is an old, converted road-side hotel. Not fancy but a great location for a decent stay.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this little gem. A vintage motel recently renovated with great style and charm true of the mid century era. It boasts a pool, great on sight bar and restaurant. Each room which feels like a mini bungalow has its own unique personality. Rustic but luxurious. Super comfy and private. Great for couples retreat.

Yelp
Really lovely stay. Easy check in. Los Alamos is so small so you can walk to restaurants and tasting rooms easily. I'd definitely stay again. Bed was comfortable and plenty of free parking.

Yelp
As pictured online. Super cute and easy to find. We enjoyed our stay and so did our dog.

Yelp
So I was concerned booking this place. A few Yelpers had issues here. Checked in today for a 3 day stay. And, reality is for less than $100 per night anyone would be challenged to do better in this town. Why do I like this place? 1. Amazing accommodating staff. 2. Nice clean room, great ac. 3. Location flawless. Smack in the middle of downtown Los Alamos. 4. Great comfy bed. 5. Pet friendly. Flat $25 fee for however long your stay may be. 6. My room has this huge footed clawfoot tub. How delightful! 7. Muni wine on the property. Great wine and comfy seating outside to kick back? Does it get better? How can they improve? 1. Improve shower and/or bathroom. May not be that easy. 2. Offer coffee on the property in the AM. 3. Deliver something for breakfast. Reality is for the price you won't do better. Understand I'm paying 90 bucks a night. Anything else in the area is twice the price. I will absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
This motel is cute, simple and affordable!. There's a really cute courtyard area, with a sitting area and a fire pit. During these covid-times, masks are required in the courtyard area. Also during these times, there is no housekeeping. Your room has cleaning supplies for you to keep it tidy, at your leisure. As well, it's a contact-less check-in/checkout process. Upon booking, you'll be provided with info on how to check in. Super cute spot, and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This hotel is in terrible shape and they did a really lame attempt at a remodel. The rooms have exposed subfloors, walls in the bathrooms are peeling, torn curtain liners without a shower curtain, single pane windows, paper thin walls, completely worn out hide on the floor. Only real perk is the location is great. Don't spend more than $100 to stay here, it's not worth it.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Eh. We've stayed here a couple times hoping our stays would be better, because it's so centrally located. But even though it looks really cool and the aesthetics are great, the quality is just not there. The walls are SOOOO THIIIIN. Like, I don't know why they didn't invest in fixing this, it's a huge issue. You hear every time your neighbor turns on the tv, every time they close their door. One time we went and they people next door were laughing and talking until 3 am and we got absolutely no sleep. I've never gotten good sleep at this hotel. Other minor things like why aren't there plugs by the bed? The fact that their wine bar is almost never open when they say it is. The bathtub is nice, and the room looks cool, but damn I need sleep and this ain't it.

Yelp
Had pretty low expectations.... But rooms were clean, location was great and would definitely return for a night away in Los Alamos!
google avatar

Yelp
A cute motel tucked away in wine country! Love the outside of this motel cacti everywhere! Inside was nice, cute decor. Water pressure in shower was fantastic. A/C was super cold. Very cozy bed. Cannot beat this price. If you're hungry, be sure to check our PICO right across the street. Ask for Jessica, she was a great server when my husband and I visited. Not sure what we ordered but our photos in to view!
google avatar

Ellie K.

Yelp
The walls are too thin. If you get so unlucky as to have "loud" neighbors, then good luck sleeping. I didn't get good sleep here at all, and I would've requested a room change but their receptionist is gone after 10:30pm. Would definitely avoid this place next time.

Yelp
I'm glad we chose the Alamo Motel over the Skyview. The Skyview it turns out is next to the freeway opposite Los Alamos and it isn't mentioned in their website. From the Alamo you can walk to all the restaurants and there is a market next door. All very convenient. The guy that checked us in was very nice, welcoming and friendly as was the nice young lady who came to help us figure out how to work the TV. We arrived about a half hour early and he let us check in. I noticed they had Palo Santo sticks in the office and he let us take one with us which was awesome. I would like to mention is that I read some of the reviews after our stay and I just shook my head and laughed. Some of the people should just stick to Courtyard Marriott or Best Western if they are going to be triggered by decor that is creative, artsy with a hip vibe. The wood floors were so cool and unique. The bed was comfy like a cloud. The handcrafted furniture was very unique and cool. The bathroom had Saltillo tile and a cute clamshell sink. Yeah, the walls are a little thin, but I have stayed in many different places and it's common even high end places. That's how it is, bring earplugs in case, geez. The room was clean, the AC was nice, and unlike other reviews there was plenty of hot water. There are beautiful cactus' around the property and the one in front of our room bloomed at night! We are looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
Okay okay... I'll admit I was a bit sketched out by google reviews having two mentions of bed bugs... I mean I know ANY motel/hotel can get bed bugs.. they like to travel too lol. BUT after getting over that and checking the mattress/area ourselves we settled in and really enjoyed our stay! I'll address a few things others mentioned: NOT MANY PLACES OPEN TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY. Like only two spots with $$$$$$$ signs haha. We ventured to Solvang for sausage and beer for dinner - not a big deal and only 20mins away. Lighting / yes not the brightest lighting in the rooms (although the bathroom light is SO bright haha). But we don't mind moodier lighting and prefer it to relax and unwind. Lysol smell / more like pinesol lol... definitely there and strong but we'd rather know a place is clean? Maybe a lighter scented cleaner could be used though. Shower / idk if the water in it was nice - we skipped showers during our stay cause it was a shorter visit. But yes, out of everything the shower could use updating! It does look overlooked and doesn't fit the rest of the "vibes". Other than that, it was a super cute decorated place!! Loved the idea of s'mores and how it made it more communal. FOR VEGANS / there is animal skin on the floor lolol I mean it was branded... but could still just be fake? Idk if that even matters to you haha!

Yelp
To justify their prices ($250+/nt) they really need to improve a few things. Honestly, they could cut their price in half and I would still not stay here ever again for several reasons to follow. They get away with overcharging because there are only 2 motels and one B&B in town. Boy do we wish we stayed at the B&B. The other motel is a bit farther away so not as ideal. Alamo motel location is excellent (The whole town is 0.2 mi long on one street), only steps from the wedding venue we were there for. First, Alamo sent an excessive number of emails and texts reminding us and check-in procedures (we knew to just check in after 3pm--not too complicated). Check in was easy-the girl very nice-I wish the she has told us where to get coffee in the morning as there is no coffee maker in the room (but interestingly they used up the tiny space available to put out a bunch of overpriced snacks for sale). Since their office doesn't open until 10am (even if an employee is in there), and most of the town is closed until 11am--coffee on Sat morning became a minor emergency--LOL! The wine bar is nice but we wished it stayed open later Fri night. The room: a ridiculous lack of lighting-bad location of plugs for charging. We travel a lot and I have NEVER been in such a dark room---BUY SOME LIGHTS with plugs/usb ports!!!!!!! The bed was comfortable and the shower power was strong. The room seemed clean and we appreciated the mini frig which worked well. The TV was complicated and didn't even get ESPN much of the time, much less ?TBS, FS1 so MLB playoffs not available--9500 stations (which was really about 15 stations repeated over and over). Sorry we will not be back.

Kathy W.

Yelp
We checked out this small "motor motel" and made a special stop on same trip to stay here. They've updated nicely, while keeping the old charm. Rooms are very comfortable. Got a room with the claw foot tub, but there was also a small shower. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Also enjoyed veer/wine at the happy hour bar. Discover this quaint town and darling motel. Price was also very reasonable,

Randi C.

Yelp
The bed was very comfortable but the other furniture looked really junky. Like something you would see in a shed. People where nice. Bring a flashlight or you won't be able to see the tv remote the bulbs are so dim

Yelp
Stayed here last weekend for a getaway from LA. I'm a sucker for little towns and I feel like I really hit the jackpot staying at this motel. Easy check in (covid protocols in place), had a room with two queen beds. The room was clean and so adorable. Loved the minimalist feel to it. The beds were super comfortable and (for those that care) the water pressure of the shower is great. The fire pit, tree swings, and games are a nice addition, along with the Muni Wine bar which had a nice selection of local wines. The Motel is located right on Bell street, which is where all of the restaurants/wine bars sit an are within walking distance. Would def stay here again when I need to escape the craziness of the city!
google avatar

Julie L.

Yelp
Shelter Social Club keeps a high standard for their properties! This looks almost exactly like the Ojai Rancho Inn but at much cheaper prices. I think I paid $81 total for a big spacious room with bed that had the most comfortable pillows. I had a table for two and a fridge. The heater warmed up the whole room. The motel is older so the floors were a little creaky and I could hear other people through the walls. Still, I loved this rustic space! It's downtown (on their small main street) and walkable to everything, especially if you're stumbling back from drinking wine.
google avatar

Trung N.

Yelp
Two complaints: -walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors -they need to do something about that flimsy, transparent window treatment because my hotel room faced east and took a brutal sun beating in the wee hours of the morning Other than that, I really enjoyed my visit here. The decor is minimal and inviting. My particular room had a small kitchen, so I had the option of staying in and cooking. Location wise, it is smack dab in the middle of everything, making it incredibly convenient. What really sold me was their little outdoor space. They lowkey place music throughout the day. There's also a wine bar located on the property. To the side of the wine bar is a pile of firewood that guests can use to start up a fire in the fire pit. My friend and I had a really good time getting to know other hotel guests. It just a promotes a sense of friendliness and solidarity that seems lacking in other parts of life as of recent. I came to Los Alamos to untap, and Alamo Motel was integral to that experience.

Yelp
Well, the owners of this motel should be complimented on a successful buisiness & marketing plan that takes what is basically a run down, out dated Hotel/Motel and charge four star prices by convincing people that they are getting a retro, kitsch motel experience from the 1950-60's. During the evenings, the retro starved Gen X'rs gather at the waterfall/fire pit area to exchange stories about their urban... urbane lives, and absolutely live the experience. Far be it fir me to criticize, as I said, BRILLIANT marketing. And if you are looking for this type experience, this place is WELL DONE! But for me, the reality was a run down, outdated, dirty room. Insects on the bed. No maid services of course. And if you need anything you had better ask before 8:00pm when the office closes. And you will pay $250-350 for your room. For me.... I have had the same experience at any Motel 6 for $49.00.

Yelp
Excellent staycation weekend at the Alamo before the Covid lockdown #2 went into effect. I will definitely "remember the Alamo" after setting my friends up to stay at this charming, rustic motel in the center of town and conveniently located in wine country. The rooms are clean, minimalist and very comfortable. The grounds are beautifully manicured, with picnic areas and a fire pit for socially distanced hang by the fire at night (pre-lockdown) with their locally sourced Muni wine to enjoy. I loved my experience so much, that I extended my stay an extra day to explore the town and artisan stores nearby. Check out The Depot antique barn and bar, the Break Room, Pico and Bell's for dinner, Well Bread for breakfast, the Station for drinks... man, there is so much I wanna go back to. Thanks Alamos!!!

Majid S.

Yelp
The property is really nice and the staff was amazing! Working in hospitality for over 15 years I can say that this is a good place to stay. The room was clean and I liked the decorations. It's an older property and has a little quirk here and there but that would not deter my staying in the future. My only complaint was the room I stayed in could use a floor lamp since the room was a bit dim at night especially since I wanted to read but it's ok I still enjoyed it there. PS the wine bar on property has some good wines and really nice staff as well. We bought a bottle of the blush which is something I never drink but was really good. And the town has things going on around it as far as good food and more wine!

Lïndsey B.

Yelp
Obsessed with this motel. Very boutique LA feeling motel but with the Los Alamos twist. Saw both the standard room and the elevated one with a bathtub etc. definitely a large difference between the quality of the rooms and the experience would not have been as positive if I'd stayed in the standard room. If you go I definitely recommend spending the extra money for the nicer room as this is probably why their rating is a bit lower than it deserves.
google avatar

Yolanda M.

Yelp
Pretty expensive for such a dirty feeling place. The floors were filthy and look like unfinished plywood or particle board. I felt really gross the whole time I was there. Def no frills - the pictures are so deceiving - it's definitely a roughing it type of place rather than a hipster paradise. Has that shady motel vibe with a fresh splat of paint and a set of new IKEA sheets. Sorry Alamo, I hate leaving bad reviews but I was VERY underwhelmed by the conditions of the room and the perceived cleanliness.

Yelp
Super cute !! Cozy comfy bed . We weren't there for long got in late left early but I'd stay here again !

Yelp
We found the Alamo on Hotels Tonight and we were pleased with our one night stay! The rate was very competitive $149/night (w/ tax $171 on a Thursday) and the dog fee was unbeatable at $20.00/night. The room was spacious with a kitchenette. The linen was clean and the duvet was white down. The grounds are super cute, very hipster with a fire pit, horseshoes, and the wine room on site. There is also a small market next door which is convenient. There is a Park next to the market that was nice to take our dog out to. We tried Bob's Well Bread in the morning and had the best chocolate croissants and coffee. We also walked through a few of the shops on our way out. The Alamo Motel was 15 minutes out of Downtown Los Olivos and was a great nights sleep that was dog friendly and price aware after wine tasting. There isn't really a lot to do in Los Alamos so I would make this a two night stay max on your way up to SF or down to LA if you need a break.

Yelp
Wow, where do I begin? THE ROOMS: Super clean, modern, and cozy. Our bed is so fluffy and I just want to lay in it all day! We opted in for a king sized room which has everything we need: a clean bathroom and shower, a separate room with an elaborate gold accented tub (can't wait to spend much time in there!), a flat screen TV, decent sized fridge compared to other hotels, and a closet large enough to hang a month's worth of clothes. THE ATMOSPOHERE: Picture this: Palm Springs modern vibes MEETS rustic wine country. White walls, bedding & front doors, cacti landscaping in front of each room, and a fire pit with tons of guests laughing and having a good time in the center court. I guess one could say I am just feeling grateful, considering we were evacuated from the fires yesterday and are worried about the safety of our home. It's just a breath of fresh air to find such a wonderful and homey feel while such disasters are taking place. PS- the manager not only gave us a discount for being evacuees of the fire, but tried her absolute hardest to search for a king sized room (which she found!). We also have our two kitties here and they welcomed them without question.

Yelp
Very cute motel. Clean and comfortable beds. A delightful water fountain and fire pit on the lawn.

Yelp
Came across this cute motel after some friends recommend it. I am so glad we booked it. It's walking distance from everything in Los Alamos. The lawns are fun to relax in with a bottle of wine and the fire pit in the evening is the perfect way to end the night. Will def be staying here again.

Yelp
We have stayed at the Alamo a few times now. It's a great little spot in town. It is central to everything and close to wine tasting in Los Olivos. We love staying here because it's clean and they have a great lounge area with a fire pit outside and a wine bar. They also have games like horseshoe and cornhole. In the room they always have snacks, water, and wine for purchase which comes in handy. The staff is friendly and gives great recommendations to local restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a fabulous midweek stay at the Alamo Motel. Rooms are basic but beds are super comfy and the rain shower head with strong water pressure was amazing. Los Alamos has delicious restaurants and tasting rooms in walking distance. We will be back!

Yelp
Very relaxing. Nice communal area with fire pit, fountain, swings and lawn games. Comfy beds. Clean aesthetic. Would stay again.

Yelp
LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF OUR SPORADIC STAY HERE! I've driven by for YEARS and always been intrigued by this roadside property. And boy did it NOT disappoint! From the moment we were greeted by the office staff and hotel Manager to the moment of our departure, everything was perfect! Traveling with a Rottweiler isn't always easy.... LOL and we're not often this accommodated! Skyview made him AND us feel more than welcome! We'll definitely be back soon!!!!

Adan V.

Yelp
First time here, but definitely not the last. Very conscientious about COVID precautions, including contactless check in/out and no maid service during your stay which we definitely appreciated. We had a double queen room which had been renovated (except the bathroom), and was very clean. Even though rooms have been updated, this is still a motor lodge type motel, so don't complain about it not being the Ritz. For those looking for a clean room and a comfortable bed, within walking distance to everything in Los Alamos, this is the place. We would definitely recommend and are already making plans to return.

Yelp
There's a party venue directly behind the motel and they played loud music until midnight. I'm told from a local that during the summer this is a common occurrence. The staff was lovely but leave at 8:00pm so your on your own with the noise issue. Weekend nights are not cheap, $220, so the noise was a bit of a bummer.

Fell in such complete love with this place that we ended up just staying another night! We were coming from a concert in Santa Barbara late and we were able to easily figure out with the concierge how to get into our room that late. Everyone was very helpful and sweet. Both rooms we stayed in were very clean and well put together. I cannot wait to book another girls trip!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had high hopes of enjoying my stay here, and don't make a habit of writing a negative review--especially because a friend recommended the property. But that said, I was disappointed. It's true the rustic decor is cute and the outdoor fire pit area nicely set up for Covid social distancing. The photos on their site, however, don't accurately portray the room I stayed in. The floor and cowhide rug was very dirty, and the off-putting odor reminiscent of the Powell St. BART station. I should've gone to the front desk to switch rooms, but was occupied visiting with local friends, and did not think to say anything until I realized how unpleasant the lingering smell was as I prepared to check out. And rather than go check the room after I mentioned it, the person at reception simply said she hadn't had any prior complaints. So I guess I was wrong? On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable. I hope to have better luck elsewhere, next time. The area is lovely for relaxing and bike-riding, an easy drive from Los Angeles.

Yelp
Please do me a favor, if I tell you how great this little place is, promise you won't make it that I can't find an available room anymore. This place has you saying "omg, look how cute this is, or that?...no, check this out" before you even open the door of your room. Tucked away in the tint town of Los Alamos on an even tinier main street is this gem of a motel. In what I'm sure was a rundown 1960's era roadside motel, the owners have reimagined it and made it a destination stop in the middle of nowhere. It's minimalist in a good way. Nothing fancy but everything cute. Everything works as it should (a/c, plumbing etc). It's not a five star resort and if you are looking for doormen and room service, just drive on by. But, if you are looking to have a memorable stay, in a quaint little town where you take as many pictures of your room as you do of the vineyards down the road, this is your spot. C'mon, communal fire pit, horse shoes, swings in the big tree out front, life sized Jenga, basket of goodies from all the local yummy places nearby

Yelp
OBSESSED with this place!!! Axel at the front desk, was beyond amazing & hospitable. The town was a hidden gem but I recommend going Thursday-Sunday to enjoy all the shops. Most were closed when we went on a Wednesday, but we still had a great time. We will be returning!!

Yelp
Lipstick on a pig cannot disguise the lack of amenities, no ventilation in bathroom, slipshod paint, cheap fixtures and paper thin walls. Great location and tries very hard to be hip. Fire pit is a great amenity. It appears to be one of the only games in town and it's not bad --just definitely not great.

Yelp
This place is so fraudulent I have no idea how it's still in business. This review I'm sure will be lengthy, but trust me it's worth it to anyone considering booking here. A family member booked a wedding package, where she claimed all the rooms at this motel to accommodate out of town guests, such as me and my family. The bride put our names in the reservation, but when we called to claim it, they told us it was already booked. We were forced to make other arrangements. Later, this motel called us saying that if we didn't pay for a room we never received, they would charge the bride. When I called the manager to point out that this was fraudulent (due to the fact that they refused to give us the room the bride reserved for us but still wanted to charge her for it), the manager, Nedra, very rudely yelled over me, refused to let me speak, and said that nothing I said mattered because they had the bride under contract. Straight up extorting her. To anyone considering this venue to host for them, I would strongly warn against it. Expect to be taken advantage of. Additionally, I want to add that at this wedding, our elderly grandmother injured her foot on the steps to her room because this establishment did not have a handicap accessible room, even though the and advertised on their website that they did. They have a handicap parking space, but not ramp to to be seen. Our 87 year old grandfather had a fall to the ground because they did not have any guard rails. I don't often post reviews, but as far as I'm concerned, these are extremely unethical business practices. I for one will be looking into whether or not we can take this issue to court. This is disgraceful.

Yelp
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff Amazing location for great wine tastings Walkable to an impressive number of wonderful food/restaurants especially for size of the town A/C worked well & good for blocking noise Several nice seating areas outside Cons: Insultingly expensive for the quality of the rooms (at least when we stayed) Especially as they were not even doing room service due to COVID Tiny shower kept turning itself between scalding hot and super cold, and was too small to let me move away from the water No outlet in the bathroom, so pretty hard to do hair Could hear absolutely everything happening in the next room over 'Kitchen' was not very useful, definitely not worth paying more for No seating in room for a couple, one bar stool and two spare benches that needed to be used for suitcases/clothes Would perhaps give more stars if room rate hadn't gone up to almost $250/night on the weekend. There's not much around and it's a cool area, so I guess if people will pay, they will charge it. Not a good value.

Yelp
Gosh I would have been super concerned had I read these reviews before booking. We were told to check this place out so we didn't hesitate when booking. But let me tell you... we had 0 issues. We booked online and stayed one night. Complementary S'mores and you're right next to some AWESOME places. We sadly didn't get to go to the saloon :( but Plenty on Bell is right down the road. CHECK IT OUT. Exactly what we needed. I hope to visit again in the future :) LOVED the fire! They offered coffee and tea in the morning but we were so tired we slept in.
