Alandas Gelato

Lovely store and usually with a long queue snaking out the door which is always a good sign. The staff are always super friendly and the service is quick. The only thing to note is that if you order two or more scoops, you'll notice that they will usually start with the biggest scoop of the cheapest option out of your choices (in our case, the mint choc chip), then the second scoop was significantly smaller (pistachio). That being said, the pistachio flavour has been our fave so far!

Gorgeous ice cream! There are loads of flavours to choose from (and they change regularly), and you can have it in a tub, a waffle cone or even a chocolate-dipped waffle cone. The portions are a really good size too. The staff are lovely and even though there was a big queue when we visited, they got through it quickly and kept things moving. It’s not as cheap as shop-bought ice cream or the van by the beach, but the quality is on another level and as a treat it’s absolutely worth every penny.

A must visit treat when in North Berwick. Delicious pistachio and dark chocolate ice cream. There is normally a queue but the staff work efficiently to manage it. There are so many flavours to try you are spoiled for choice

I was there at the weekend and it was very busy but didn't have to wait too long, I found the ice cream to be nice but was a bit pricey but I can live with that. I asked for chocolate sauce only to be told it has to go in the tub first and by this point the ice cream was already in the tub, if this is a genuine rule then it should be stated on the menu or staff should inform customers when the order tubs. I personally think sauce shoupd go on top of the ice cream, especially when my girlfriend got sauce in the bottom of the tub and by the time had got to the sauce it was hard and unedible with the spoon that was provided with the ice cream, so there is no point paying £1 for sauce.

We came here a couple days ago, firstly i would like to say that the staff were all lovely. I ordered pistachio and have to say its really just vanilla, it seems that they cheaped out on a lot of the flavours. We took a few seconds to decide what we wanted to order but an older woman there not in uniform (seemingly the owner or a manager) was trying to rush us and just being overall impatient even though it was completely dead. Not a fan of the place after our visit and likely wont be back, have to emphasize again that the rest of the workers there were all very nice to us!

Excellent service, fantastic selection of ice creams and really tasty. We tried Strawberry cheesecake, peaches & white chocolate and vanilla fudge - all delicious. At least 20 flavours to choose from. Would definitely recommend

Another visit , as the menu and flavours are changing constantly, so it's good idea to try something new each time. Gelato is tasty and fresh , but price goes up every visit 🫣. I honestly know place's with as good gelato,and it's bellow 3£ offering nice big portions. I think fame = expansive.

We were a party of four. Three of us ordered ice cream scoops. One of us wanted a shake. They told our friend he couldn’t have a shake (a regular menu item) because it was too busy at the time. Disregarding that we waited in line for our turn to order. So we waited around outside while three of us ate ice cream and noticed the volume of business slowed down. When we decided to reproach and order a milkshake, the manager told us that they do not make shakes within one hour of closing, (That policy is not written anywhere)We were ordering the shake a few minutes after 9pm. Even after asking nicely, they refused to make a milkshake and the manager was extremely rude about the situation as well. If I was the owner I would have a serious chat with my manager about how to properly treat paying customers or just go ahead and find a better option. Needless to say we will not be coming back and would encourage other customers to limit their expectations if asking the staff to do anything that goes even slightly above and beyond. In addition, the gelato was quite underwhelming so keep that in mind if you decide to give this place a try.

Just a delight. Crowded for sure, for long periods of time. When I went, three young women scooped at a fevered but organized gait and all works. Great flavors, wonderful creaminess and delicious. Small is (1) scoop, medium, 2 and so on. This is a must stop when visiting.

Pretty disappointing gelato to be honest. We had a few and the flavors just weren't right (the Scottish strawberry was the best). It also felt more like ice cream not gelato.

This was the best gelato I've ever had!! :) I went back twice on my 4 day trip haha! The staff was also very quick & nice.

Just a wee shop full of many flavors. Gelato in a cone or cup to savor You may struggle the which to eat song Buts it's all good so you can't go wrong!

Nice staff, freshly made hot chocolate. Unfortunately the flavors were nothing special, not too flavorful, could have had higher fat content.

After passing by Alanda's for several months and thinking "Hmm... I must try that place sometime!" I decided that today would be a good time to try it out. As I walked up the street, I saw the queue that was snaking out the door and hoped that it would simmer down a bit by the time that we had eaten our tea. Thankfully, it had! I went inside and browsed the ice cream counters for a few minutes before deciding on going for the banoffee pie flavour, which was amazing! It was creamy, delicious and was actually handmade in shop which is a rarity for an ice cream shop! The layout reminded me of Mary's Milk Bar in Edinburgh. Although they don't offer those crazy hot chocolates or ice cream milkshakes, the ice cream itself is amazing and is not to be missed when you are in North Berwick. The scoop size was very generous and the ice cream completely filled my pot! It was a tad pricey though as it was £3 for a medium tub of ice cream. It always seems busy because I have seen the queues for this place and it would seem that all of Lothian is desperate to get their hands on a pot of Alanda's delicious gelato!

Best gelato I've ever had! Owner is lovely and can't recommend this exquisite little gelateria enough. Truly worth flying across the Atlantic and catching a train to North Berwick. I can confidently say that Alanda's is my favorite treat.

Boy North Berwick has something special to offer and this now includes Gelateria Alandas! Artisian Creamy flavours include Raspberry Pavlova and Honeycomb and these are just two of the phenomenal tasty sensations. I could get quite used to stopping by here for an ice cream. It's quite small though, so best getting your flavour and heading down the street to the harbour/beach and sit and enjoy the seaside view.
