After passing by Alanda's for several months and thinking "Hmm... I must try that place sometime!" I decided that today would be a good time to try it out. As I walked up the street, I saw the queue that was snaking out the door and hoped that it would simmer down a bit by the time that we had eaten our tea.
Thankfully, it had! I went inside and browsed the ice cream counters for a few minutes before deciding on going for the banoffee pie flavour, which was amazing! It was creamy, delicious and was actually handmade in shop which is a rarity for an ice cream shop!
The layout reminded me of Mary's Milk Bar in Edinburgh. Although they don't offer those crazy hot chocolates or ice cream milkshakes, the ice cream itself is amazing and is not to be missed when you are in North Berwick.
The scoop size was very generous and the ice cream completely filled my pot! It was a tad pricey though as it was £3 for a medium tub of ice cream.
It always seems busy because I have seen the queues for this place and it would seem that all of Lothian is desperate to get their hands on a pot of Alanda's delicious gelato!
