Alaska Airlines Arena

Alaska Airlines Arena is a fantastic home for UW basketball. Great sightlines and a close-to-the-action feel keep the energy high from tip-off to the final buzzer. The crowd roars with Husky pride, and the acoustics punch through without being overwhelming. Facilities are solid: clean concourses, solid concessions, and friendly staff who help you navigate with ease. The scoreboard and replays are crisp, so you never miss a moment, no matter where you’re seated. Bottom line: A top-notch venue to watch a Husky game—electric atmosphere, loyal fans, and that unbeatable UW spirit. Go Dawgs! And yes, Arnold would say, “I’ll Be Back.”

Great atmosphere for college sports. Not really a bad seat in the house and the staff are fantastic! Depending on the sport there are plenty of concession options, and bathrooms are convenient. I also like that they are environmentally conscious in all areas.

Great basketball environment. Went to the Apple Cup of basketball. The arena is cozy but loud. There really isn't a bad seat. Our seats even had cushions on them. The Husky Hall of Fame is there too. It's been renovated but it's still one of the oldest basketball arenas on campus. Go Dawgs!

I want to give props to SELE (what a beautiful name) by the way! She delivered super duper customer service to my daughter and myself regarding a system glitch that canceled our outbound flight. It was a very distressing time and Sela exhibited much care towards our situation and promptly reimbursed us and then some. Thank you Sela for an awesome experience! Alaska is fortunate to have her on board!! Aloha! 🏝️

First and last time coming to an event here. Guard at the door refused to let me wife in with her small bag because it wasn't a clear bag. None of the ticket information mentioned this policy. After I spent $20 to buy a clear Husky bag that she dumped her small bag into, we noticed all the guards were now letting in people with bigger non-clear bags. Then the guards didnt know how to use the ticket check-in devices. Family went to the seats and I got in line for food. A LONG line because the ome concession stand's soda fountains broke. Spent nearly $50(!) on three ice cold hot dogs and two sodas. No drink trays, and when I asked for an empty nacho tray to carry the dogs, they told me they would have charge me the full price of nachos for an empty cardboard tray. Then the lady rung me up wrong and I had to correct her. Least fan friendly arena I've ever been to.

Visited for the USC vs UDub Women’s volleyball game. It was a trash experience. The seats were very uncomfortable and tight. Many people are sitting with their knees in their chest. It was fansgiving. You had to go sign up for the giveaway. No QR. Starbucks cards were dropped from the ceiling but only for the lower level. The band was cool. The crowd was quiet.

Been attending events at Hec Edmundson Pavilion since 1970. Arena remodeled in 2000, since then there isn't a bad seat in the house. Lower level seating is very close to the court.

Im 46, born and raised in the PNW but had never watched a UW basketball game, men's or women's, until five days ago when my 21 yo daughter and I attendeda women's game vs. OSU. It was great. Why am I just now figuring this out? Tickets were $15. Free parking. Seats were great (a nice usher randomly directed us to the section behind the home bench). It was a lively, fun atmosphere. I will for sure be coming to more games in the future.

Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion is a fancy and long name for an old building that is no frills, no obvious A/C, with a musty smell on a warm day. If you sit on the second-tier bleachers, it gets warmer and warmer when it is 70 degrees outside. It is a covered arena, adjacent to the open-air Husky Stadium. The primary parking is Lot E1. The portion that is closest to the building is E-18; Google map shows it. If anyone needs ADA parking, E-17 is a small, closer one with ADA only parking. While the building is most commonly used for basketball, it can be rented out, such as for graduations. The Bellevue school district's four high schools rotate their four graduations in a single day. It is a hot mess - figuratively and literally on a hot day. Be warned if you are going. They have a Huskies gift shop for those looking to shop.

It's an older building, but it stands the test of time. I remember when they added the scoreboard and it sort of blocked views up at the top. The only knock I have on this small arena is how bad it can be to get in the front doors. It can be a cluster to get in. Once you get in, it's pretty easy to move around.

Alaska Airlines Arena is the venue for UW basketball and women's volleyball games. Although the arena has a capacity of 10,000, I thought the seats were great. Even the seats far up seem to have a good view of the court. The arena has a more intimate and collegiate feel than Climate Pledge Arena at Seattle Center. It is also very public transportation friendly as it is very close to the entrance of the University of Washington Station. If you live near a light rail station, there is no need to drive your car over to UW.

GO DAWGS!!! It's a cozy feel and you get nice close up views of the court. There are a good amount of bathroom stalls and it was easy enough to find parking and get out

This is my second event here. It's conveniently located right next to Husky Stadium, the Husky Ballpark, and the light rail, all within walking distance. Compared to football games, the parking lot is mostly empty. Despite charging a fee for parking during events, it typically remains relaxed and nearly free. The facility's exterior, which bears a semi-Victorian architectural resemblance, is the primary attraction. Unlike many collegiate-level Division 1 schools, the interior, court, and seating are at the back. The game day experiences are mediocre; the crowds are less than half the capacity, and the noise level is fairly mild. I don't see much of a home-court advantage or challenge to opposing teams. I haven't tried any of the food, but the beer lines, as expected, are very long. Overall, the facilities and experience are average.

My Oh My! I was at this location with my family celebrating our dear graduate during the heatwave this past weekend. My family and I were hoping to walk into a cool, air conditioned venue. Instead, we were met with extreme heat and no air conditioning, whatsoever. Absolutely ridiculous! Rather, the interior felt like a crisp, 450° F oven. This is not sustainable. Please fix this for future events!

I was impressed by the Alaska Airlines Arena at the University of Washington. The final home game of the women's volleyball team was right before Thanksgiving and was a perfect excuse to get out of the family house and see some live sports. The arena is right in the center of the university near the football stadium and light rail station. Parking is generous around the arena, but can be pricy and needs to be paid online with your phone. The arena is old, but the interior has been remodeled in a nice modern look and feel. There are several concession stands selling basic stadium snacks, although only a few were open during this game. My nachos were big with a generous amount of cheese and jalapeños. Beer and wine are available at a separate stand. They also have a team shop selling branded gear. The seats were decent with good sight lines and padding. We were packed in pretty well making it tough to stash coats and stuff. The game was very full which was a mixed experience, but nothing beats the thrill of cheering with thousands of people! A large screen is over the court with clear HD graphics and video more like a pro arena than college. I also appreciated the balance of sound - not too loud or quiet. The restrooms are a little small making peak times difficult. Many people stood in line for food well into the next set moving slowly. However, the arena supports mobile tickets making entry very easy. Overall, the Alaska Airlines Arena is a great spot to watch a game. University of Washington fans are lucky to have such a nice place. Even visiting fans will appreciate the amenities and overall feel of the place. Save some money over a Kraken or Seahawks game and support college sports!
