It’s a beautiful inn right on the Ogden River in Ogden Canyon. The jacuzzi two person tub in our room was great. The breakfasts were like you would get in a restaurant but they deliver it to your hotel room. My boyfriend and I love to fish and we’re able to fish at a trail to the river right next door within walking distances. The beds was king size with a very comfortable mattress. I would have liked a couple more towels and washcloths. The carpet needs replaced and it would be great to have done screens on the windows to open to the fresh mountain air. We will definitely return.

Very impressed with the charm of the Alaskan Inn, as cozy, warm and felt like a ountain hideaway! The room was comfortable, with authentic decor, and a very nice queen size bed. Breakfast was delicious, and served outside in the back patio area where a rambling stream runs behind the property. The front rooms do face the busy road so opening windows not an option. But the air conditioner hummed softly all night long and we could not hear any road noise! Excellent value for the ambience and amazing staff who make sure that your stay is excellent!

It is amazing. Just outside the city but it feels like another world. Very peaceful and relaxing. The food at the grill was well seasoned but with a little wait. I don't recommend it if you're in a rush. It left me feeling healed and content. I will return for many more meals and to stay from time to time. A wonderful Saturday morning.

We wish to sincerely and publicly thank all the amazing staff at the Alaskan Inn for making our stay an unforgettable one. The quaint rooms are comfortable with climate control A/C and heater. The bathroom includes not just a shower but a giant jacuzzi tub with plenty of massaging jets. The room includes a large flatscreen TV, dining table with two comfy chairs, a desk and mini fridge. It is important to note here that your stay at the Alaskan Inn also includes a huge breakfast of your choice and delivered to your room at the convenient time of morning you choose. They deliver it to your room within 10 minutes of you calling it in! The restaurant, which serves breakfast entrees all day, among many other fine cuisines, is phenomenal! Many patrons choose to dine out back to soak in the ambiance of the Rocky Mountains accompanied by the relaxing stream which flows through the property. By far and large, we were more than impressed with the stunning scenery and the exceptional, above and beyond—second to none customer service! Jeff, at the front desk, went out of his way to ensure we were treated like royalty and that all our needs and wants were met. For anyone looking for a beautiful and rustic bed-and-breakfast, you have got to make Alaskan Inn your number one choice! We’ll certainly be back to experience one of their personal cabins which are secluded deeper into the woods near the stream. Thanks again to Jeff at the front desk for your professionalism and exceptional hospitality!

We loved our stay! From the moment we arrived, this hotel delivered an exceptional experience that went far beyond what we expected. The check-in process was seamless and welcoming, with staff who were genuinely friendly and eager to help. |Whether it was helping us arrange transportation or offering local tips.||Breakfast was way better than expected and the scenery was truly breathtaking. Live music at the riverfront was one of our highlights of our stay. ||We can’t wait to return !

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by jaw-dropping scenery, this hotel is nothing short of magical. Tucked into the heart of nature, with mountains and a beautiful creek flowing just behind the hotel. We enjoyed long walks on nearby trails, kayaking in the lake, and stargazing at night — no city lights, just the quiet hush of nature and a sky full of stars. This is not just a place to stay — it’s a place to breathe, reflect, and reconnect with the world in the most beautiful setting imaginable. Breakfast that was included was more than we expected. Would highly recommend Alaskan inn and we will definitely revisit!

Such a cute place. There was live music going on in lobby when we checked in. We stayed and listened for awhile. We loved the individual cabins. Our cabin was super clean, warm, and welcoming which was a great contrast to the snowy outside. The jetted tub was so relaxing. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. And the breakfast, served right to your room, was delicious! Can’t wait to come back!

Cozy Room at the Alaskan Inn My wife, daughter, and I had a wonderful time at the Alaskan Inn! We stayed in one of their rooms, which was perfect for our little family. It was cozy, clean, and just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. We loved the unique breakfast setup. You place your order the night before, and then just call ahead 30 minutes before you want it delivered right to your room or cabin! It was the perfect way to start the day, and the portions were just right – not too much, not too little. The location is fantastic – simply beautiful, and there's so much to do around the area. We found plenty of activities to keep us entertained. The Alaskan Inn really is a fun place for couples or a small family looking for a bit of adventure and relaxation. We would definitely recommend it!

Yelp
I was on a work trip and found this inn very close to where I needed to be early in the morning. I stayed here on a week night and arrived around 6pm to check in. I might have been the only guest in the main building and think they have about 10 rooms on the first floor. The inn is located right in Ogden Canyon and gorgeous views driving into the canyon, with rushing water through the river and a few waterfalls spouting water. Check in was easy and the attendant was nice and pleasant. I asked if he could recommend a sunset hike, and he provided me with an info sheet with local hikes. Breakfast is complimentary here and probably the nicest service I have seen in a long time. The attendant takes your order and breakfast is brought to your room from 7am - 10am. I called in the morning at 6:40am and breakfast came at 7:10am. It's a nice spread and the hospitality was old school, which I enjoyed. A few things were off about my stay. First, I could not get wifi in my room. It wasn't the end of the world as I was only staying for one night, and it helped me to just disengage. Second, there were two heaters in the room, and I could not find the remote for the second more modern heater. I did really enjoy the nice big bathtub and can see this coming in handy on a very cold Utah night after a day skiing. Bed was super comfy, and sheets were very crisp, the way I like them. Overall, it was a nice stay, and I think if I wasn't on a work trip, I'd come back again and stay here and just unplug for a while.

Yelp
This is a cute, rustic hotel in the heart of Ogden canyon. One side of the hotel faces the road and mountainside while the other side faces the river. When you select your room or cabin, you can opt for which side you'd like. My wife and I stayed in the Gold Rush room, which faces the water. We opened the window at night to get some fresh air and cool off the room since we struggled to get the AC to work. It was nice to have the scent of the mountain air flow in. The hotel is Alaskan themed with rustic cabin walls, a deer mounted in the lobby and mountain themed furniture. It's cozy and quaint. There were a few things that made the stay slightly less comfortable such as no fitted sheet on the bed-chasing the sheet all night every time you move isn't a fun way to slumber. We had a hard time getting the AC to work and were very hot all night. The breakfast was ok, although it was pretty cold. I can appreciate that it's hard to prepare several different meals all around the same time, but cold biscuits and gravy is a bummer. Overall, this is in a beautiful location, which carries a lot of the appeal for the Alaskan Inn. I will probably drive a bit further up the road and pitch a tent at the nearby campground when I want to return and explore the area.

Yelp
I love love LOVE the Alaskan Inn! I truly can't say enough good things about this place. You can choose to stay in a private cabin or in one of their newer rooms inside the "hotel" area. You can't go wrong with either option. Inside rooms still have plenty of privacy and you don't hear the hallway or your neighbors. They also do room service so you can get a yummy dessert late at night. Another thing I love is that they include a breakfast for everyone who stays, which you order the night before. You can also order additional things for special occasions like flowers for anniversaries, an entire cake for birthdays, etc. And the service is always so great. It feels like they really know you and care about their guests. They also have large jacuzzi tubs in each room so you can relax. I just love being able to wake up, open the windows, and see the gorgeous mountains right outside.

Yelp
So there is good and bad with the Alaskan Inn, To start with the good is, The manager Brenda is amazing and super friendly and so willing to help in any way possible, she was the best! All of the staff is super friendly, and always willing to help, the location is really pretty, especially in the winter, we stayed there in February. Lots of snow in Ogden Canyon is very pretty that time of year. My wife ordered roses and picnic basket, that was perfect! The food is pretty OK, breakfast is served right to your room nice and hot and anything that you order from the menu is on the tray. The not so good, the facility is not in good working order, our heater in our room is new and did not work so we had to use the old heater, if you're trying to fill the spot tub in the bathroom, the shower does not turn off so while you're filling the tub or if you're wanting to add water you're also taking a shower, The caulking around the tub is all cracked and leaks water everywhere, there's a constant dripping noise 24 hours a day that continues to drip all night long and will sound like Chinese water torture after a while, I did not sleep hardly at all the entire weekend because it was so noisy, don't recommend rooms on the canyon road side, super noisy day and all night. I had a chicken sandwich that came on a bun that looked like it had been sacrificed to the bread gods, the tomato slices were thicker than the chicken, more mayo than anything, I just didn't eat the bread. The bad, our room was on the road side so all night long you don't get any sleep because of the cars going up and down the canyon, some of them so loud, it rattles the windows in the room, this went on all night long, our dog was a mess from it being so noisy, she never settled down. We ended up leaving a day early... More good to finish, We got a massage and Brenda was so kind to check in on Duchess while we were out for an hour. For the staff we loved, for the facility not so much.

Yelp
Went here for our honeymoon, the theming is great and the staff was super nice. My only complaint would be that on our check out day we didn't receive our breakfast and we're rushed out. (Our honeymoon was a few days before Memorial Day and the weekend.) we could tell they were gearing up for the holiday weekend but that's sad we were pushed aside for it. :( Other than that there isn't any complaints. Although my phone service was practically non existent but my husbands wasn't and we're on the same network with the same phone. ‍ so just be warned you may or may not have phone service and working wifi.

Yelp
We stayed at the Alaskan Inn 5 nights. There is good and bad with the stay. Let's start with the good. - breakfast was fast from time of order and we enjoyed the omelets and hashbrowns. You let them know your breakfast choice the day before. There is a spot for requesting condiments. I requested ketchup and received on packet. So, I learned to put how many of each I would like. - they brought the breakfast to your room. - it feels like you are away from everything but close to everything. - multiple places close by for dinner, walking trails, and just checking out. - a plus for us was having a cabin that was not connected to any other rooms. - views were gorgeous. - all the employees we dealt with were nice. I felt like the gentlemen we dealt with a few times was the most helpful. There was a younger lady that tried to be helpful (she was just no to the level of the guy) and she seemed stressed out. Let's go over the bad. - there were a couple small blood stains in the bathroom. So, while on quick glance it looked clean it wasn't. - they do not use fitted sheets which means every time you move the sheet you are sleeping on moves with you. This ended up meaning we didn't sleep that great. They did have a mattress protector on the bed. My husband said the bed was too soft for his preference. - Wi-Fi doesn't reach the cabins (at least our cabin) so you have to go to the lobby or close to it to get Wi-Fi to work. - we requested our room to be cleaned and it was never cleaned (on their sheet to request service). We even left tip money for the cleaner and it was still there when we got back at the end of the day. - we requested towels multiple times (on their sheet to request service). We ended up having to go to the office and requesting them. - up to 4 people could stay in the cabin we were in, but you are only allowed breakfast for 2. You have to order and pay separately for the additional person in your room. - the garlic parmesan fries were ok but not good. In the end would I stay again. Yes, because it is the closest place to stay by family that lives in Ogden. I would bring my own sheets so I could get a good night sleep. If it wasn't for the location to family, I am not sure if I would stay there or somewhere else. We loved the location and views; didn't like they wouldn't service the room.

Yelp
Absolute amazing find! We spent the week hotel hopping and this was our last stop. Our only disappointment is that we didn't find it sooner! We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Rustic and comfortable. Very friendly staff. The most comfortable bed I've slept in away from home. Huge jacuzzi bath. Breakfast delivered to the room was a nice touch. I'll be back.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for a staycation for our first wedding anniversary. This place was everything we wanted. The staff is very nice, the cabins are so cute, each room has their own theme. The location makes you feel like you are at a far away get away. The rooms were clean, had complementary sparkling cider. The jet tubes were awesome, makes me want to get one for my home. The breakfast that is served to your door was surprisingly really good, it made me look forward to our second morning breakfast. Overall a great experience and can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I am sure that there are others who had phenomenal stay with Alskan, but I guess we were unlucky and experience was horrible. I really tried to be as positive as possible for few things that were right. I would never ever stay at Alaskan again, and I would send my worse enemy there Here is copy of letetr that I sent to management, and as expected didnt get any response Please give my compliments to cook, for delivering breakfast as fast as he could this morning while not knowing that we requested for 7AM and after phone call and us pointing about all the problems he scrambled and got us delicious breakfast in 15 minutes. Assistant manager, I think its Andrew, was very kind and understanding of issues that we had. Unfortunately he didnt make any changes. We understand that Alaskan was fully booked and understaffed but those things happen. Brenda (genearl manager) promised to be on site in morning but I guess life happened and she had other priorities And now let me share with you list of things that made us upset. I hope that others visiting Alaskan didn't have or would ever experience all this problems. we arrived at 7:30PM, outsiude temps were in low 20s Room was freezing cold, AC/heating unit was off. It warmed up after a while but its not ok to come to room in winter that's less then 60F Front desk was not helpful at all After we demanded to talk to manager, Brenda was called and she explined to front desk person that blankets are in crawl space. That didn't make us feel good. Maybe its clean there but it creates creepy feeling. Yes it was good to have them after all because we would be really really cold during night but I slept in my sweat pants and had no intention of touching them Finding leftover sandwich in our fridge is horrible. Even if I wanted to take a bath in jacuzzi I lost any desire when i saw half inch of water still in tub. Sanitizet? Hmmm???? After we took our shoes off we walked in our socks in room getting ready to go to sleep and still freezing. We realized what additional problem was - carpets were wet, not just at entrance, everywhere in room. It seems that they were cleaned that day and not dried Minor issues - power cord for light in corner is broken, possible hazard if you touch the wire that's sticking out It would be nice to have more then just two paper cups for coffee/tea and some sugar and creamer since you offer Keurig in room Please understand that most of this issues would not even be a huge deal if room was warm, and receptionist addressed our problem promptly.

Yelp
Our stay was just what we needed! Our family was visiting from Arizona for a funeral and we needed a little time to our selves. The cabin was perfect for the three of us. My daughter slept in in the bunk beds and was thrilled. Our bed was comfortable and soft. We were spoiled with sparkling cider and chocolates . Breakfast choice was wonderful! The only small complaint we had was that our breakfast was cold, We were so looking forward to it so that was a bit of a disappointment. We will be returning for sure!!

Yelp
Off season visit. While our stay was nice the inn was in a great location. Felt much more rural while being close to town. We had the room in the lodge would recommend the individual cabins. The lodge room was lacking somethings which kind of made it disfunctional. One hanger, no charging USB ports. Refrigerator sat on the ground difficulty opening Since it was the off season you could order from a menu the day before and have it delivered to your room at the time you want. Each day the breakfast was very good especially the French toast.

Yelp
Romance is harder than you think, but not here. My husband surprised me with a stay at the Alaskan Inn Feb 28th and Mar 1st 2019 (our second wedding anniversary). Here were my thoughts about the establishment: Location: To be honest I'd never noticed this place in the canyon before, I thought it was kind of neat the way it was tucked into the side of the canyon. I walked around through the entire property and it doesn't seem to matter which room you end up in, you will have a view of something. In the Cascade room, where we stayed, there was a giant tree in front of the window which offered a little more privacy. I loved sleeping with the window open and smelling the trees, and hearing the river. There is no better white noise than this and you can probably hear the Ogden river from any room you stay in because it runs right behind the property. Noise: I was surprised that being off of a semi-busy road there was no noise from the road. The other thing that surprised me was for being a romantic place, we didn't hear any of the other couples. I could sometimes hear the hot tubs turn on in the hallway, but I didn't hear anything else, it was really quiet which afforded me more time to focus on my stay instead of what my have been going on in the next room. Staff: Everyone we dealt with was amazing. When we checked in with Jordan she was super sweet and helpful. We mostly dealt with her and she was really friendly and accommodating. There was another woman my husband dealt with to handle the romance packages and I can't remember her name, but she was also great with helping my husband carry out the surprises for our anniversary. Everyone there was top notch. Facilities/booking: Like most everyone else reviewed, booking online is the pits. My husband got tipped off to this place when trying to find a way to celebrate our anniversary from a friend and he booked online after seeing all these amazing photos and just falling in love with the place. My suggestion is, don't book online. It's better to call in and know what room you're getting because most of the time when you book online, you get assigned a room and that's no fun. We ended up in the Cascade room, which is the only room not photographed online. I think this place is renovating things because unlike most of the rooms with a cohesive theme and decor, this room did not have that. We didn't get the neat rustic bed, which was upsetting to my husband, and some of the furniture didn't match or go along with what the room was called. That kind of thing didn't really matter to me, but my husband thought we would be in a cabin that was rustic and romantic with a fireplace and we ended up in the lodge in a room that was kind of disjointed in the way of themes. The bed was comfortable and new from what the gal said at the front desk, the green headboard and frame it sat on didn't feel very cohesive to the room and we kept stubbing our toes/legs on it when we walked around the room because it sticks out just a bit further than the bed does. The room was clean, and I didn't notice any real wear and tear in it. The hot tub was well maintained, and clean! I can't say enough about that. I'm not picky when it comes to decor and furniture but cleanliness is imperative. There was also a fridge and a coffee maker! Extras/romance packages: When we arrived the room was made up nicely, there were mints on the pillows, and a bottle of Martinelli's chilling already. I didn't know it at the time but my husband had purchased a few things. He set it up so that while we were away having dinner they would drop rose petals all over the room and the bed, and fold towels into swans, they also took our wine out of the fridge and started it chilling so when we came back from dinner the room was ready for us. I was surprised and happy. My husband found it easy to work with the staff to make these surprises happen for me. He ordered another package that was hot chocolate and a marshmallow chocolate spread that was delivered right on on time and we loved it. It was the best anniversary so far. I was really impressed with all they offer for couples to help them reconnect and melt away the troubles of the outside world. I was also really impressed with the lobby shop. There were the usual tampax, medicines, etc, but there was a whole shelf for adult sexy time items. There was flavored dust, bath bombs for the jacuzzi tubs, and other neat stuff. None of it was wildly inappropriate, I could have walked right by there with my kids and they would have been none the wiser as to what any of it was for, but it was nice having some extra options. I would highly recommend this place for couples that need to reconnect. This place makes romance easy so you can focus on each other, and remember why you decided to be together in the first place. You can't put a price tag on having togetherness like this. I came away feeling really great about my marriage and recharged. Great experience!

Yelp
Don't reserve your room on their web site. Call and make sure it's available. We booked what we thought was a cabin and paid with cc on the web site for our 40th anniversary. When we got there they gave us a key for a room in the lodge. We went in the room and it was anything like what we booked. When we asked about it we was told that the cabin must have already been booked. I told her the web site should have let us know so we could make other plans. We tried to get a refund and was told we would have to talk to the manager. We left and went to Comfort Suites. This was our first time away for 20 years. Very disappointed. Ll

Yelp
Can I give ZERO stars? Purchased a Groupon for an overnight stay. When we called we were told that they no longer accept groupon. I understand that but the voucher supposedly never expires so you would think we could at least get the credit for the amount we paid. Nope. Again, if they no longer accept it, I get it. However, the real problem for me was when I called and asked for the manager to try and resolve the issue. I was told A) "I cannot tell you who that is because she has asked us not to give out her name", and B) "she is out of the office and we don't know when she will ever come back", and C) "She may, or may not, return your call if she does, in fact, ever return". Seriously...that actually happened. Talk about terrible customer service! My advice? Go somewhere else.

D. J.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the lower level rooms in the lodge. The tub was tucked in a chubby in the wall. But it was probably the highlight of the room. The carpet was torn and worn. It looked like it hasn't been replaced in years. The bed was horrible. It was super hard and the pillows were too small. We had the French toast breakfast. It was really good! But overall, our stay was not worth the money.

Trisha A.

Yelp
Beautiful property, rooms are nicely decorated. Especially enjoyed breakfast being served to us in our room. Plus, dog friendly!

Rona B.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Thank t is a very nice touch that all the rooms are given a chilled bottle of Martinelles cider. The only reason it missed a star was the carpet needs to be cleaned or replaced. The bunk beds are also not very solid so we had to take the upper mattress off and lay it on the floor for safety. The breakfast is included and delivered to your room. It was a great breakfast!

Zachary S.

Yelp
SCAM!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Horrific customer service (expect to be treated like dirt and a criminal just for choosing to stay at their inn.) Completely deceiving room descriptions. (beware of their river view description on rooms. That does not mean that it's a cabin. IT means that it's in the main lobby but it's not specified like all other rooms labeled as being in the "main lobby". It means it's a small hotel room located "near" the river.) If you're into reserving a place two months in advance thinking it was a large cabin for you and your family to stay in for a fun Christmas vacation and then get to the reservation to find out it's not a cabin and actually a 400sqft room located in the noisy main lobby, with two queen beds and a bathroom without a shower curtain, then this is your place. IF you like to be treated like a criminal just for choosing to stay at their inn and wake up first thing in the morning just to be accused of declining your charges on your credit card from 2 months ago.... then you should definitely make a reservation here. IF you like doing business at a location where you can't even talk to the main manager/owner of the inn because they refuse to let you do so and say that they aren't sure how patient he's going to be with you, this is the place for you my friend. IF you enjoy being told to shut up, continually talked over and told that you are not welcome to the inn any more and they won't be doing business with you, then search no more you have found your people! We were basically robbed... $1500 dollars down the drain and not to mention had our holiday vacation completely ruined. Thanks a lot Alaskan Inn!

Yelp
My family and I came to Utah to visit family. We ended up going to the lake near Alaska Inn and and seen this hotel as we drove in. Decided to book and night and wished we had stayed there the whole time we visited. It was quiet and beautiful. Nestled in the mountain near the river in the back. Firepits out back and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. Gaming area upstairs for the kids. We loved it. We got excellent service as well. When we come back to Utah, we will definitely stay again!!

Debz J.

Yelp
What a great experience! It's literally the best hidden secret for a romantic get away! It was beautiful, clean, and relaxing! Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because. The roses and champagne on ice was the perfect add on. Breakfast was yummy! The staff is super friendly! We may of missed the knock for breakfast and they even reheated it and brought it to us again. They are amazing and kind. The jacuzzi was great the Timberwolf cabin was perfect. Really glad we decided to adventure our way up there! I highly recommend this place to anyone! It's so cozy.

Rebecca O.

Yelp
Great romantic getaway! The bed wasn't super comfortable my husband and I both woke up with a stiff back but the cabin was beautiful and breakfast was incredible. We will be back!

Yelp
Wow, what a disgusting experience, Utah should be ashamed to have people such as this represent such a lovely area in Ogden. .On 6/24/2021, I thought it would be lovely to take my family I was visiting in Utah out on one of the local reservoirs. I went in person and spoke with the manager? Britany? and reserved several paddle boards and kayaks for the following day. Since I was unfamiliar with equipment, location to use equipment and vehicles being used to transport the equipment, I was told my credit card would not be charged until I actually left the INN with the equipment. On 6/25/2021 we arrived in three vehicles. Brittany was not working that day, but Alexis(?) was (not sure neither one ever introduced themselves) When I presented my paperwork from previous day with Brittany for the rentals, she was not aware. Again, I asked, if we cannot fit equipment on vehicles, we would not be charged? No, only if we left the premises. After much discussion with the maintenance guy, it was decided the equipment would not fit on the vehicles. I went back in to the main lobby (with several family members present) and was told my card would not be charged, but if it was in error, they would have to contact the owner via text for a refund (this was the same spiel from Brittany day before). DAH, call me stupid, that should have been a RED FLAG. We never left with equipment, even tipped the maintenance guy 20.00 for his troubles, which actually worked out for him, there was someone coming in after us for equipment and it was already pulled out for them. I was even offered to come back if we changed our minds about the rentals. So, fast forward to Monday June 28, 2021, after returning back to Florida from my visit to Utah, a total charge of $214.20 for equipment never used, never left the property with. Two employees lied to me, I have called many times, left messages and even spoke to Brittany, who called my a liar, said she never said ir was refundable. If it was not refundable, don't you think we would have tried to use the equipment, (hell I would have just sat on it in the parking lot just to get my 214.20 dollars worth of freaking fun) I have tried at least 30 times to get ahold of someone at the Inn. No answers, left recordings, no return calls etc. Who ever is the manager/owner should be held accountable for not training their employees (yes Alexis was upset that Brittany was not in on 6/25/2021 and she had to do 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries within the next 30 minutes while having to deal with my situation) So my suggestion, as much as the Alaskan Inn is located in a beautiful area, STAY AWAY, it definitely does not represent what Utah is about. Shame on you Alaskan Inn for such deceitfulness. And shame on me for assuming I would receive a refund and at least out of decency a call back and not be called a liar. Show less

Yelp
This was just the respite my sister and I needed! The location is absolutely stunning, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast in bed was just the right way to put the cherry on top to make us feel special and spoiled! We would absolutely love to recommend this place to anyone staying in charming Ogden!

Yelp
The room looked ok at first sadly outdated but ok until you start to get settled then you start noticing the bugs They are everywhere The ceiling the bathroom everywhere Not just one or two no its an infestation Copious dead bugs piled up in the window and live bugs crawling on the ceiling dressers and floors They have a serous bug problem! The second thing I noticed was there is an obvious electrical problem Not only did the outlet covers hang away from the wall exposing electrical wires They have multiple extension cords plugged into the outlets that actually worked Most of the outlets in the room did not work We called and reported the electrical problem They sent their so called maintenance guy who glared at us the whole time he was in the room then he spent the rest of the day lounging in the back by the river doing nothing Needless to say the problem remained unsolved This is not only a fire hazard and a danger to us there is no place to plug in our phones or other electronic devices as the outlets were either dangerously hanging off the wall or had multiple things plugged into it by extention cord To top it all off the coffee pot didn't work either Why offer an amenity if it doesn't even work? I attempted to call the front desk to possibly get some coffee from them but they either didn't answer the phone or would pick up and hang up When I finally did contact the front desk the woman who answered was rude and constantly interupted me not letting me get a word in otherwise She acted like it was an inconvenience that I called at all There was rarely ever anyone at the front desk The customer service was definitely poor aside from one night desk clerk an older woman and the housekeeper They were both courteous and helpful One morning my husband was showering and I was waiting for him patiently in the room when the desk clerk a short heavy woman with dark hair just casually walks in our room without knocking or calling first and acted startled to see me there She stopped suddenly and stated " oh I didn't know you were here" then left the room with no explanation Why was she coming into our room unannounced in the first place? What if my husband and I were in an intimate situation or nude in the room? She obviously knew she was in the wrong because she hid her head whenever she saw me Another complaint is about the packages they offer The packages are not only over priced but the description is deceiving as well We had purchased the rest and romance package for $175 which states "Our Rest and Romance package is a couples favorite to unwind and relax. Romantic rose petals leading from the door to your bed, 6 romantic tea light candles, six chocolate covered strawberries, an intimate couples package, and enjoy a relaxing one hour massage in our spa for one or half hour consecutive massages for two!" We never received the intimate couples package as advertised in the description. We asked the desk clerk a young slender woman with dark hair about the intimate couples packages that the description stated we were to receive yet had not and she argued with me stating that it " was just a misunderstanding about the description There is no intimate couples package included" We never received the package described in the description Definitely not worth the money you pay for it We also purchased the sweets for my sweetheart basket for $50 Also not worth the money You get a few dollar store treats in a dollar store bowel worth maybe $6 Total rip off I have to say for $200 + dollars a night this place is a total rip off It is not worth the money what so ever I definitely will not be a repeat customer at this bug infested fire hazard, run down DUMP ever again! I don't suggest anyone else stay their either unless you like sleeping with bugs in a fire hazard, having poor customer service and overpaying for deceptive extras. If your smart you will stay elsewhere which is what I will be doing.

Yelp
This place is an absolute joke. My wife and I stayed in the hook line and sinker room to celebrate a life changing event. I may as well have gone to the river bank to sleep. The bed had to have been the cheapest, loudest, most uncomfortable possible. The decor was good, and the breakfast was ok. But if that's what you want, you can rent my motor home, and I will cook you a real breakfast, clean press and deliver your clothes back to you for 200.00. Worst money ever spent. Upon asking to speak to the owner, he blew me off, and was totally arrogant. I have no idea what the spend your money on, but it is definitely not to upgrade the rooms.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay at the Alaskan Inn this weekend! We stayed in one of the queen cabins, Kodiak. The main lodge was very welcoming upon check-in. It smelled nice, there was a fire going and homemade cookies. Our cabin was clean and cozy. The only complaint I have about the cabin is that they didn't offer any shower essentials for our bathroom. (No soap to wash hands, tiny shower gels, shampoo etc.) The breakfast delivered to our room was delicious, and the location of the Inn is beautiful. BUT the staff doesn't shovel/plow the parking area. Driving into the parking lot was very icy and covered in snow from previous snowfall. It snowed during our night's stay and our car got stuck in the parking lot in the morning because nothing was plowed! We had to dig ourselves out. But otherwise, we had a great weekend.

Yelp
I went to the Alaskan Inn this summer. It was really nice . The staff was so accommodating. My wife and I had the best couples massage after spending the day on the reservoir. We spent 4 nights at the Alaskan Inn and could have stayed longer. This place is truly a gem.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in one of the cabins for one night of our honeymoon and loved it! The breakfast delivered right to our door in the morning was so wonderful. I will definitely recommend this place and we will be back to stay.

Yelp
This is one of Utah's hidden gems. I have lived here for 10 years and never knew we had such a romantic getaway only 15 miles from home. I felt like we were on a vacation Hundreds of miles from home. The Staff was wonderful and the experience was one I'll never forget. The chocolates the cider the candles and best part the fresh rose petals leading to the bed.

Yelp
Still no answer to my letter and concerns of July 27th 2018 weekend. Guess new management just doesn't care if they lose loyal, repeat customers...

Yelp
Incredibly disappointing service. Traveled 2 hours to celebrate our anniversary at Alaska Inn. When we arrived at 8pm the person at the front desk said, "Sorry, we canceled your reservation this morning because of a billing problem." I asked why they hadn't contacted me in the morning to sort this out. Their response was, "sorry." The person at the front desk refused to call the manager for us to find a solution. Expedia had no record of the cancelation (we booked through them). When I mentioned this, the person at the front desk responded with, "we prefer people don't use Expedia or other booking services." This person then suggested they could rent us another room at a higher price. Unbelievable. Expedia was awesome and helped us look for another hotel. Stayed at the Hampton Inn. Always great service there. I cannot recommend Alaska Inn. So disappointing.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary and LOVED it! It was so pretty up the canyon with the snow and lights on the cabin. I felt like we were far away when it's not far up the canyon at all. The room was so cute and cozy. Nice tv, jetted tub, sparkling cider chilled waiting in our room, microwave and fridge. We loved the atmosphere inside with the moose theme. We stayed in Kenai. My husband is very picky and a clean freak with hotels, and he checks them up and down before we even put our things down, and this place passed the test. We felt super clean and comfortable. And the free breakfast brought to our room is a definite plus! It was really good and a fun way to end our stay. My husband and I will definitely be going back! Multiple times! I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
We rented the North Pole room. Decor was not what was pictured on the Internet. Train did not work and there were no trees/Santa's/etc. The porch paint was peeling. The mattress and pillows were horrible. Not sure why they still have strictly a spring mattress and super flat/uninviting pillows. No DVD player or radio to set the mood. Left a lot to be desired. Romantic getaways usually involve setting the mood, comfortable bedding and amenities. There were no robes or any added specialty other than a bottle of apple cider. I ran out of hot water trying to fill the bathtub. Quite disappointed in the overall experience. But the breakfast was delicious. At least there was one highlight of the trip.

Yelp
car broke down 400 miles away from them and had to be towed home, they would not refund our reservation. what a bunch of pricks

Yelp
My husband and I stayed her in August and it was amazing. We loved everything about this place. The locqtuon, the views, the room and the staff. The staff was so accommodating. Breakfast every morning to your room. We had to get up early for an event and they insisted on calling the chef in early to make sure we had breakfast. On the last day, we were leaving very early and the night before, they asked if they could make us some parfait or fruit to keep in our fridge so we could eat before we left. Incredible! We are now planning an anniversary there. We miss it.

Yelp
This place was extremely disappointing with their customer service they are more interested in making a dollar then taking care of a customer! I tried to speak with a manager and they wouldn't even call me back I would never recommend this place to anyone!!

Yelp
We stayed in Timberwolf cabin. Upon entering the room it was very nice lights on music playing softly from the tv. That may have been the nicest part. We ran out of hot water when filling our tub. So instead of a hot jacuzzi bath we had a warm one. The door to under cabin was missing. The front door had small cracks through it so the sun was shining in in the morning. The mattress was old and very broken down. I would think for what's person pays to sleep here they would have newer mattresses. Breakfast delivered to our cabin was very nice and very good. I don't think we will be returning for any getaways here.

Yelp
Very good place to go with your wife. I was extremely relaxed and comfortable in the room we stayed at. The jetted tub was awesome. You can sit in there and relax and if the water gets cold just turn on the got water and the jets will spread the warmth throughout the entire tub. The breakfast they gave us was amazing. If you want a romantic, private place to go to just to be with your spouse, this is the place. I will try to get back, but this time I'll have to get a cabin.

Abbie T.

Yelp
Sooo cozy and fun. We stayed in a cabin and we loved it! Great breakfast as well. My husband and I highly recommend it.

Yelp
Horrible place, we go to check in and show them the conformation number, and the exact room we had paid for, give her our name and we'll they don't have us booked, not only that but conveniently they don't have any openings, two couples behind us had no problems getting their room, the money was taken off the debit card, and we had a confirmation number and all, but yet "there was nothing they could do" totally ruined our night. We asked to speak to manager but she was "on vacation" and the girl at the desk could only call her, but wouldn't allow us to speak to her and couldn't speak to her in front of us had to walk in the back office. We asked for the managers number but she couldn't give it to us, WHAT MANAGER DOESN'T TALK TO THEIR CUSTOMERS? Then to top it all off when she said she can't give us the number, she said but "my manager will be in first thing in the morning" BUT I THOUGHT SHE WAS ON VACATION? What a coincidence that she's back in the morning??? I then realized we were.being lied to and I believe discriminated against because we happen to be a "lesion couple " The other two couples that had no issues at all were straight. We then just walked out and that was the end of our night because everything else was booked, and they kept our money!!! HORRIBLE PLACE, I WILL NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH MY MONEY, NOR WITH DISCRIMINATION! PLEASE LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AND WHO THEY are!

Kristen S.

Yelp
The room was not bad but the bath tubs are too small and the breakfast wasn't very good. Also, the pillows are terrible! I woke up and could hardly move my head because of the awful pillows. Not worth the money. If you want to spend the same amount, go to the Grand America in Salt Lake. I guarantee you will enjoy your experience much more!

Yelp
I found out about this place from a friend who has gone a few times with her husband. What a great B&B hidden away! Their website is easy to navigate and their accommodations are more than what I expected. They have private cabins or a hotel-like setting to choose from, and breakfast is served to your door at the time that you request. Our cabin was equipped with a radio receiver and a dvd player, as well as chilled cider awaiting our arrival. The man at the front desk was more than welcoming and offered us lemonade and cookies as well as a dvd rental library to choose from if we wanted. The bed was comfortable, the grounds were well kept, the mountains were picturesque in the landscape and breakfast was on-time and hot! The menu for breakfast wasn't huge- but covered all of the regular basics- and I was surprised how much was offered ( 2 drinks, 2 sides, along with a hot entree of our choice). The Jacuzzi tub was the icing on the cake. We would defiantly come back- and would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

Yelp
We spent our 5th anniversary in the Misty Fjords Cabin and loved it. The privacy of the cabin was nice. It was the best stay we have had at a bed and breakfast. We will definitely be returning. There isn't one negative thing I can think of that we would change. The jetted tub was plenty big for two and the breakfast was fantastic. Next time we will do more than one night. Be sure to ask about the military/LE/fire discount.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place. Amazing service, charming room, lovely grounds, great breakfast. I wish this was a chain because I don't drive through Ogden regularly. One of the best places I've stayed, anywhere, and I travel a lot. Perfect balance of calm and interesting surroundings, in a gorgeous location.

Yelp
I would recommend the Alaskan inn to my returns. Called and booked the Windsong Lodge. The service over the phone was great when I booked the room. They helped me find available dates and recommended some ways for me to upgrade the experience. The breakfast was excellent and I would highly recommend the French toast. I would give 5 stars except for the massage we scheduled. We were told that we would be notified when they were ready or they would come get us. At 10 minutes after our appointment should have started the masseuse came to our room to see if we were coming. No fault of hers, but she wasn't told we were waiting. Starting late threw off the groove for the massage. They were cool and we still got the full hour. The cabin where they just recently started massages was very nice. They told us the confusion was due to them just setting up the new cabin. We were only second customer to use the cabin, so they were still trying to figure out what works. I would recommend the massage package if they can get their process figured out. I would be willing to give them another chance for a 5 star review.

Yelp
I purchased a $200.00 gift Certificate for my Husband for Father's Day and I called to book a room and they told me I could not use Gift Cert. to book room online that they had to fully charge my room on credit card and that they would refund me upon arrival! The manager stated if I came by and booked room in person I could use the gift Card that way and just have credit card on file for incidentals or damages. I said great and a week or two later I drove to the inn to do as stated above. With Gift Card in hand and ready to use to PRE-PAY for room they told me they don't do it that way anymore and that I had to pre pay for my room on my credit card..... Basically that I couldn't use my Gift card that I purchased months before to Pay for my room!!! BE very aware and DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDS from them!!! They do not make it easy to use them! NOTE I understand having a credit card on file..... but to charge and then credit back!!! I was a small business owner, don't they understand that cost them more money in fees!! NOT A GOOD WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS!

Yelp
Pros - Individual cabins - Nicely priced - Breakfast brought to your cabin, big plus - I hate the large gathering rooms at some B&B's where you have to eat with complete strangers - Large tubs - What seems to be an endless supply of hot water - Surround sound speakers (at least in our cabin - don't know if it's in all cabins) - Bottle of Martinelli's and little chocolates in your room each night - without paying $20 extra as some other places charge - Customized breakfast menu - In room massage or couples massages Cons - Horrible pillows - Loud/rattily heater - Proactive customer service - surprises, even if nothing can be done about it (like a cabin change when you reserve a specific cabin) is frustrating - Customized breakfast menu (yep it's a con as well when they don't deliver what you have ordered) - In room massage or couples massages. When there isn't adequate room for an in-room couples massage please don't offer it or at least set up a room in the main lodge for this purpose. Also, when you have unprofessional massage therapists (that have supposedly been coming there for 15 years) it taints Alaskan Inn's reputation more than the therapists. I could go into specific detail of everything that was wrong with this therapist as well as the assistant she brought along from Eden but I will say it was the weirdest and unprofessional massage experiences my wife and I have had - Minor upkeep that really anyone can do and better cleaning (previous sacks from Walmart left in our room from the previous visitors - if a sack was missed what else was missed?) - Ice rink parking lot Suggestions - Pick up the phone and call the customer when there are changes or issues that arise - Maintain/fix the heaters - this goes along with the items listed above as well as the cabin we were in - Pay attention to the details and get them right. B&B's should provide a unique special experience in my mind and it seems like you're pointed in the right direction but it's just not there yet - Please, for the sake of everyone's necks, please get some new pillows. Might I suggest teaming up with the makers of Z-pillows or have a variety of different pillows in the room. Might be a good marketing promotion for them and since there in Logan it might work out well. - Better and more professional massage therapists - More cabins with king beds available, maybe I'm the only one that likes king beds, who knows - Caulk (anyone can caulk) would do these cabins (tubs/bathroom areas) some good. A tube of it would probably cover a couple cabins and costs less than $3 at a local store - Better plowing of the parking lot so that it's not an ice rink and potentially a massive liability (either people slipping and falling or cars slamming into other cars as they try to park) I was really hoping for a knockout experience at this B&B and maybe I just got my expectations up too much but things just didn't go as I thought they would. This place has the potential for being an awesome B&B. With a little attention, customer service and minor fixes I believe this B&B could easily be a top 3 B&B in UT.

Kent S.

Yelp
It's rare to find a themed B&B or Inn that has wheelchair accessible rooms but the Alaskan Inn is one. The room was decorated very nicely with a large jacuzzi tub, fireplace, large TV and DVD player. Breakfast was ready on time and delivered to our room. We look forward to returning.
