Great place! Kitchen had what you needed and the room was great. Was able to easily walk to downtown in 5 minutes. The grocery store was a 5 minute drive.

When I was planning my second trip to Alaska, I only wanted to stay in one place in Seward, the Alaska’s Point of View’s Moonshine Quonset hut. It is away from the maddening crowds, in a quiet neighborhood and walkable to downtown Seward and Resurrection Bay.|It is very quirky inside, but fun to look at everything. There is a living room, eat in kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and a back room with a futon, tv and access to the rear deck. On the deck there are multiple chairs and a gas grill.|You can not beat the comfort, convenience and the price for a wonderful stay.|I highly recommend the Moonshine and the owner Debra. Thank you for another wonderful stay.|The only thing missing this year were all of the bunnies in the backyard.

Overall the value is good, as other options are so expensive, and we really enjoyed having the space. We stayed in the Moonshine hut during a spell of rainy weather, so spend more time in the hut than planned, and was very glad for the space.|The location is excellent-- in a residential neighborhood, very quiet, and within easy walking distance of downtown, and I could walk to Safeway and the train depot in about 40 min. |The front of the house faces the street, and blinds give privacy, but really, even in mid-August, there was barely any car or pedestrian traffic. The back room overlooks a yard, the house across the street, and there is a partial, but satisfying view of the water and distant mountains. There is very little privacy on the back deck, but then again, there are very few people out and about.||The positives:|Very clean, very roomy. The couches are comfortable, and low to the ground, which as a short person, I adore. There's a massage chair, for what it's worth-I didn't try it and my partner found it vigorous. The kitchen is equipped to cook full meals. The futon in the back room is comfortable. Lots of bedding, generous access to toilet paper and soap. Nothing was torn or chipped. Space heaters available, and we needed them! Excellent water pressure and very hot water. There is a terrific washer and dryer--they looked new, and are large and the kind that don't take 3 hours to finish.||The negatives:|Now this is totally subjective: I didn't much care for the atmosphere, which is sort of boho/shabby chic...not even chic, mostly shabby. Very clean, and remember--nothing torn or raggedy, and no bad smells, but it felt as if we were staying among the castoffs of others--like what one would get at Goodwill, or has been in the family a long time. The massage chair looked well used. OTOH, after a while, it started to feel as though we were staying at Great-grandma's house-and that added a cozy/laidback feel. The last time the handmade guidebook to the area was updated, a fee that was listed as $8 is now $20+ dollars--which fits with the sense that most things in the hut have been there a while. The weather was rainy and grey the whole time we were there, and with the lack of light (as expected in a Quonset), I found it a bit depressing. The back futon area can be reached only by walking through the main bedroom, or from the back deck. The futon in the back bedroom wasn't made up into a bed, and it was very heavy and not easy to get flat. Once flat, it was very comfortable. That some of the lightbulbs gave blue light instead of warm light didn't help. The fiberglass shower stall is tiny-- and I suspect anyone over 225 lb is going to be touching the sides. There's a $5 charge for one load of laundry; I would have liked to have seen the first load be included, so that it feels like a kindness. Laundry soap was provided. It's honor system, and there also appears to be a bluetooth temperature sensor next to the dryer, so perhaps a "trust but verify" situation.

If I were to ever adventure back to Seward, I would book the Moonshine Quonset hut again. It was spectacular! Debra made my stay perfect. The location and views were beyond my expectations. The hut has everything you could ever need, including free parking at your front door. It was comfortable and very quiet. The kitchen was nicely equipped and the massage chair was the perfect ending for my busy days. There is a washer and dryer that I used for a mere $5 charge (you had to leave money as it was on the honor system).||I recommend this place highly!!

The Quonset hut was great! It was so much roomier than a small hotel room. The bed was super comfortable, the living room was spacious, and we even had a chance to do laundry. It was super convenient for walking to downtown, and just a couple blocks walk to the water. We loved having our own little hut for a couple of days. Debra was great to work with in getting everything arranged.

We stayed in one of the Quonset huts and loved it. It was perfect for us - the bedroom was nice and fairly dark, even with the midnight sun, the option of two living spaces was great - one of which we used as an additional sleeping space. The TV worked good, the kitchen was totally functioning and we used it a lot. We didn't sit on the deck because we didn't have time, but it was nice to have. Having laundry as an option at that point in our 2 weeks trip was wonderful. The only thing to note is that apparently, to use the BBQ (required for fish) you need to buy charcoal or something, we didn't see it available there unless we missed it.

We loved our 2 nights in the full suite. It had tons of room, a great balcony and lots of charm. Debra went above and beyond, picking us (and our luggage) up the morning we arrived, allowed us to leave our bags after checkout, and let us use the laundry machines. Good location close to downtown. Would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Hands down, the best B&B we ever stayed! We have stayed in several B&Bs over the years but none this special and wonderful as Debra's place. We arrived fairly late (10pm) and Debra called to check on us and to inform us that she was going to bed. We were 5mins away from her place when she called and glad to have the opportunity to catch her before bed time. She has instructions listed on how to access the room. We had booked the studio suite. Our names were printed and hung at the slide door. It may seem like a small gesture but it really touched our hearts! We never felt more welcomed before! It's a small (big for us), cosy room. A super comfortable bed, we slept really well. A sofa, a massage chair, which we really appreciated and enjoyed after a long day out exploring the area. The bath was clean. She provided soap, shampoo and towels. The mini pantry had a coffee machine, hot chocolate, microwave, fruit juice, fruits, popcorn and muffins. The place is nicely decorated. By the window, they had several bird feeder. We didn't spot any bird visitors while we were there but I'm sure it will be a wonderful sight in summer. The window next to the bed has the view of the resurrection bay!!!!!!!! It was incredible, This is THE bed and breakfast etch in our head, and I'm pretty sure it is going to be real tough for anyone else to beat this standard. Thank you so much, Debra! Tip: Debra is able to help book some of the cruises at discounted rates. She will share them with you upon booking.

Yelp
My brother found this rental from an Internet search. It was reasonably priced. We rented the Rosehip 2-bedroom suite, which comprised of the first floor of the house. We had a little trouble operating the lock and had to call the owner for help but it was the only hiccup that we experienced during our stay. It was a very spacious with a large living room and kitchen area. One bedroom had two twin beds and the other had a full or queen. There was also a Murphy bed in the main living area. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean and tidy. For a family of four or more this place is a good deal.

Yelp
It is over priced compared to other private cabins and suites The room is noisy and dirty.

Yelp
I am actually giving no/zero stars to the owner of "Alaska's Point of View" and local booking agent Debra Hafemeister. While communicating with Debra through e-mail and phone conversations, I found her to be condescending, sarcastic, and rude. Besides not being friendly or welcoming, she had advertised weekly prices listed on HomeAway.com incorrectly. I contacted her about renting the property for 9 nights and the rate doubled in amount because of two extra days and two additional people. She claimed the listed rate was winter rates and she did not offer to give my group the rate we seen advertised. She suggested another rental property, which she happened to own. On her business website for the rental property she suggested, "Alaska's Point of View" she has misleading/deceiving descriptions on the number and types of beds for the Full Suite. It clearly states that there is a queen bed, queen murphy/hide-away bed, and a double futon. However, she "DOES NOT" want the queen murphy/hide-away bed being used because it makes the living room cramped. She claimed she would try to find a twin mattress to put on the floor. The Full Suite is also listed on many websites as a Bed and Breakfast, but it is not. She simply supplies the kitchen with a few breakfast items. I booked the reservation, but ended up canceling my reservation due to all of the incorrect and misleading information I received from Debra. How could I be sure she would make sure the twin bed would be there several months from now? I felt it was better to walk away from this experience now, than for our trip to Alaska to be ruined. She ended up charging me $25.00 paper charge/cancellation fee, even though I cancelled my reservation within an hour of making it. Try to avoid doing business with Debra.... You will thank me in the long run. (Update: Debra has changed her website and it states, "If you prefer, use the murphy bed behind the sofa, but remember it does make the living area tight.)
