Alavya (Alacati, Izmir Region) 6 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Since opening in 2014, this stylish boutique hotel has appeared in boldface on countless hot lists and “where to go now” round-ups. But that doesn’t mean you’ll feel any immediate recognition with the destination — unless, of course, you’re a European-born jet-setter with your own sailboat, in which case, you know exactly what the Izmir peninsula is all about. For the rest of us: Alavya is located in Alaçatı, 45 miles east of Çeşme — which, in turn, is a coastal city on Turkey’s Aegean coast, some 400 miles southwest of Istanbul. It’s an upscale regional hot spot with Ottoman roots — think historic stone houses, white boats bobbing in the harbor, old windmills and rolling vineyards — and Alavya, when it opened, immediately became the town’s top lodging." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is incredibly beautiful, with great facilities and amazing food. Unfortunately all this is for nothing, if one cannot sleep in there, or even go outside your room because of the horrible noise.|Namely, the hotel shares its wall with an open-air disco, blasting bass from ab. 7pm until 1-2am, every night. The staff offered moving to a different room, but almost all of them are located alongside this wall - and the move didn’t help much. Neither did the earplugs - complimentary in every room. This is not “Alacati summer mode”, this is blatant disregard for the guests’ comfort - until more senior staff got involved, I felt like I was expected to just put up with it. |Thankfully, my agent helped me move to a different hotel after one night - the only sensible decision given the circumstances.

If you ever go to Turkey, make sure you do not miss this gem of a hotel in one of the most popular seaside resorts. Incredible staff lovely rooms and delicious food. People go out of their way to please you and all the amenities That are available from Yoga to organising picnics on the sand and romantic evenings by the sea are top class.

Loved everything about Alacati and Alavya. We used this as a base to explore Ephesus and so glad we came here. The town is charming, filled with restaurants, bars and shops. Being there in September, it wasn't high season, so was quite calm. (In summer, I gather it's packed and a real party town.) As for the hotel... love at first sight. Everything is so well designed and thought out. Stylish and chic at every turn. We were in the wing overlooking the pool. It's surprising how calm this was compared to the bustling town. There is a beautifully designed spa and gym underground. I can't emphasize enough the impeccable interior design by famed Turkish designer, Hakan Ezer. He was there during our visit and we had a lovely visit with him. The breakfasts - as typical in Turkey - were huge and varied. Dinner outside under the trees was delicious and beautiful. Recommended without hesitation.

This hotel EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS. We booked for 3 nights and instantly regretted not staying longer. The reviews are great, which is what made us book the hotel. However it is way better in real life. |The rooms are nice and big, the hotel staff go above and beyond and the moment you walk into the hotel you feel at ease. Which is nice as the hotel is very centrally located so a nice escape from the chaos outside. |The staff at breakfast were amazing and remembered our orders. The pool boys were terrific (Shout out to Irish who kept us hydrated). |We also spent a lot of time in the Sauna/ Gym and SPA area. The ladies were so friendly and accomodating. You almost never wanted to leave the hotel premises. |Its the little things that matter with this hotel, from night time treats, to never once seeing the cleaners however our room was always spotless! |We stayed at another hotel during our stay at Alacati, and we would always compare it to ALAVYA and nothing compares. |Do yourself a favour and book this hotel. You won't regret it.

Every thing is beautiful in this place, the environment, the friendly wonderful staff, and the gourmet delicious food with a touch of art. Thanks to everyone there. Just one thing in summer only in weekends, the high sound of the neighbor nightclub was so annoying, so if you sleep early come in week days in summer time.

Unbelievably great experience we have had. From the vale to the front desk, from the restaurant staff to housekeeping . Everyone on their team is awesome, professional, solution oriented. Rooms are impeccable, they use top quality shampoos, creams etc. I’d like to thank them a lot. Also to the GM Mrs. Ozlem. We will definitely come back 🙏

If you are a foreigner, waiters let you sit without assistance even after you call them twice, while Turkish guests are served. Pretty unpleasant. They are expensive but do not understand international hospitality or professionalism.
