Worst paid accommodation I have ever endured... largely due to appalling treatment by a staff member, though there was nothing great about it. This was quite a while ago so the sadistic creep who worked there at the time has presumably moved on, but it was so bad it put me off a) hostels and b) Barcelona ever since. Young people with no cash don't deserve to be treated like garbage. I hope they have much better hiring practices these days.

The place is stunning! With a nice view and beautiful design. The food on the canteen is nice and u have even a fridge to put something. Well connected with bus and metro nearby and the price is good. However, there is many kids there, but all lovely <3

The Alberg Barcelona Xanascat is the best hostel to stay at in Barcelona. It may not last much longer, but I was able to get a single person room (with three beds😂) for only €27 a night. That came with a free breakfast buffet that had fresh kiwis, my favorite! Laundry is easy and so is getting into town. Overall, this is a great place to stay!

Very good, but that hill in the entrance always murdered me after a long day

Very beautiful building (spectacular hall in a mixed modernist-arabesque style), good location (near to park Güell), close to underground. It has also car parking area. Rooms are a very simply, sheets are very old.|Restaurant area is correct but breakfast should be better.|Service people is very nice.

After our original hostel in cancelled on us, my friends and I were frantically trying to find somewhere else to stay for the three nights we had planned to spend in Barcelona. After ringing around a few hostels, Alberg Mare de Deu de Montserrat were the only ones to accommodate all 7 of us. We arrived very late due to the metros running at odd times because of building works, but this wasn't a problem to them. The building is SO beautiful, as is the surrounding area and it's only a few minutes metro ride into the city, and a few minutes walk from Park Guell. We originally only booked in to stay one night, but the hostel managed to make room for us the next two nights that we needed a place to stay. The price was cheap, the beds were comfy and the staff were lovely. One woman that I think was called Natalia (?) was there for every day of our stay, and she was extremely helpful, friendly and smiley. All seven of us girls want to thank her for making our trip as easy as possible - she really was an angel. We were also able to leave our luggage in lockers and in the office between checking out and our flights which was really nice of the hostel to allow us to do. Overall, a wonderful place with wonderful staff. You really saved my friends and I!

The hostel is located in the area which is around 20 minutes away from the city centre, the view from the outside is pretty and you can have a panoramic view from around the place, the place is bit difficult to locate for those who visit for the first time, but later you get along with the public transport. The staff is quite helpful and kind enough for any kind of help. The provision of complementary breakfast is an add-on, and enough for a person, decent amount of information about the city is available at the desk, but most importantly the city maps and bus guides were missing which are really important for those who are looking forward to explore the city. Now talking about the rooms, they are decent as compared to the other hostel I've visited, they are a bit old style, the storage space and provision for hanging clothes and most importantly the charging port are somethings which could be improved upon, rest everything is fine, you can definitely Choose this place if you are looking for a place which is quite and away from the hustle & bustle of the city.

We spent only one night in this place just to have a rest on the way back to France. We were 4 and we reserved a room also for 4 persons with a bathroom inside. Breakfast was included with standard food (bread, croissant, fruit juice, coffee, etc). In general everything was not bad. What I liked most was the interior of the building with amazing walls.
