All the staff are nice and friendly. The breakfast is delicious. Located in the center of town, it’s a 15-minute walk from the train station, a 3-minute walk to a nearby supermarket, and less than a 1-minute walk to CISM. This hotel is perfect if you are attending a CISM course. All the staff are nice and friendly. The breakfast is delicious. We stayed at this hotel in Udine on our way to Grado on the Alpe Adria Cycle Path. This is a real treasure for very reasonable price; and very accommodating to cyclists with secure bicycle storage and a great breakfast. Lovely warm reception and comfortable room.

A nice hotel in old downtown and walking distance from the train station. ||Parking is available on the opposite square by paying about 10€/day.||Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and recently refurbished, which is nice. Do not expect a full-charme hotel, this is rather a contemporary one within in a old building, but the result is good and comfortable. Breakfast is served at ground floor next to a garden where in summertime it is easy to enjoy blue sky. The hotel is run by a nice family and you will feel they take care of you. But a new owner will come in 2019: the fundamental should not change though. All around, a number of shops and jolly restaurant where enjoy full charme of Udine, good wine and food and reach boutiques.

It's a good hotel. It has an elevator and the room and bathroom are good. The single room is quite small but it has air conditioning, mini fridge, and a kettle. The shower is not that great. The shower fixture that they chose is too big for such a small shower stall.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Albergo al Vecchio Tram. If I find myself in Udine again, I'll definitely stay there. The owners were incredibly friendly, generous, and helpful. My room was very comfortable (the largest, nicest, and least expensive of three Italian hotels on my trip), and the bathroom was really nice with a multi-headed shower. The breakfast was amazing! And as I had a six-hour train journey ahead, the proprietor let me pack a little lunch (a ham sandwich, cheese, and fruit) from the breakfast buffet to take with me. As an American woman in her 40s traveling alone, I felt very well taken care of.||||(I can only imagine that the folks who have left bad reviews were either disruptive guests or are reviewing the wrong hotel. I found the owners to be quite gracious and lovely.)

I am American that has been living in Italy since 2008. I have brought guests around Italy and Europe for the past 9 years as a guide, for my business and for pleasure. We booked at this hotel on a recommendation. The booking process itself should have been a warning. We arrived an hour later than we thought due to our dinner running late with my clients. I let hotel know. This AM the owner attacked my guests while they were eating breakfast, and then started yelling at me in front of them, got in my face and then actually kicked me out of the hotel telling me I couldn’t have breakfast and that he was the ‘god’ of his hotel. This all after I paid for 6 rooms on my card. I thought this owner was actually going to hit me at a certain point. I was shaking as I walked out to him yelling behind me that he was going to call the police on me. Do NOT go to this hotel as the owner is a complete psychopath.

Enjoyed my stay. The owner, Antonio, couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, no problem. The highlight was the bacon and eggs for breakfast! I would certainly return.

BEWARE-I should have read the reviews below and back to back negative comments about an aggressive Manager/Owner, but it’s true. HE IS a MAD man and became abusive and outright physical and threw out for arriving late to the hotel post the agreed 8 pm check in time, all this the next day after breakfast and paying the bill. This is not hospitality and he should loose his license. A precise repeat of the comments mentioned Other contributors below. Not sure who else has experienced this but few care to share, and it appears to happen more than often. In your best interest, stay away.. I will not even rate this place.
