Albergo delle Drapperie

We enjoyed a great 3 night stay, 5 friends in a mix of single and double rooms. The location is superb, in the heart of the central old city. That does mean it can be a little noisy at night but that wasn’t a huge concern we were enjoying the nightlife! The staff were very welcoming and helpful, rooms clean and the prices great value for the location. We’ll be back!

Lovely front desk staff. Be not afraid of no elevator as they will carry bags up and down. It’s a fantastic location, if a bit touristy but I walked everywhere. My only suggestion is to use different cleaning supplies as there is a strong smell of chemicals after they clean. Thanks for a lovely stay.

I don’t understand the negative reviews at all. We loved the 4 nights we stayed here. First off, you are right in the heart of Bologna. You walk out the front door and are met with fruit and flower vendors. There are so many stores and restaurants and things to do right around you. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and had local charm. Would absolutely stay here again!

Very satisfied with my stay at the Drapperie hotel. I was afraid of noise, since the hotel is basically in Bologna central square. Surprisingly the rooms were very quiet. Slept so well! Very nice staff (I have issues with gluten, at breakfast they brought me an enormous tray of gluten-free delicacies). We will definitely come back!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. It’s a dump. The location is ideal but nothing else is. The photos must have been taken in 1983 or whenever the rooms were last decorated and equipped. The bathroom fittings were tatty.?The a/c didn’t work. There was a fan with a base so rusty it kept dipping downwards. The room (a ‘junior suite’, no less) was musty and filled with old junk. The electric sockets are dangerous - the ones that work, that is. The breakfast room was boiling, the poor cooks working in a tiny hot space. The receptionist smiled a lot but was smarmily useless, failing to get us a taxi to the airport as requested with over half an hour’s notice. Avoid.

Really charming little place; short on some amenities, but not enough to take away from the charm. Wonderful breakfast, and the staff were incredible. They went far out of their way to help us book transportation to the airport during a busy Sunday in Bologna. The location was perfect; we could walk practically everywhere.||Our only complaint was the mattress on our bed - you could feel the bedsprings under the mattress, that made sleeping difficult, until we put several folded blankets between the mattress and springs. The other people in our group didn't have this problem. We all loved the place and would recommend it to anyone.

I was a solo traveller and had a great experience! The room was very clean and the breakfasts were great. The staff were lovely and very helpful with giving recommendations of things to do in Bologna. The location was also very convenient (pretty much in the centre of the city), within walking distance of many attractions. I'd definitely come back again, and would recommend to other travellers!

Lovely classic hotel centrally located near cathedral. Very clean and nicely decorated rooms. Super helpful desk person.
