A lovely refuge from the bustling streets of Bologna. The average outside temperature during our stay was high 30s, but the A/C in our room ensured we had a cool return. |Directly outside the hotel are busy, noisy, crowded streets with sellers of all manner of wonderful food and other items, yet within our room it was very quiet. The room was perfect. Everything worked. The hotel staff were delightful - always a smile and nothing was too much trouble.|The short flight of stairs up to reception was a bit of a pain but after that the lift took care of the rest of the climbing very efficiently - never had to wait too long.|We didn't try the breakfast because we love to eat in the man outdoor cafes, but we heard no complaint from other guests.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. Room was lovely, clean and air conditioned. This is my second stay and won't be my last. Only negatives are having to carry heavy luggage up the steps to reception and the hot water in the shower took ages to come through.

For 3 nights in a standard room, this was a recommendation from a friend who lives in Bologna and knew exactly what we'd like. It's not perfection (a chair in the room would be a great addition) but it was perfect for us; all the important things were spot on. The service was excellent: helpful, friendly and keen to make arrival / departure unstressed. We were given an excellent tip on where to eat with a vegetarian on board (Clorofilla). Breakfast, by the way, was terrific - maybe not be exactly what you're used to, but there's a wide range to choose from and we were never rushed. We loved Bologna and will definitely stay here again next time we come.

This is a nice old fashioned hotel in an unbeatable location. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms have everything you need. Step outside and you are in the heart of foodie Bologna and a short walk to the historic centre. It’s on a pedestrian street but taxis can take you to the corner 2 minutes’ walk away. You do have to climb one flight of stairs so it’s not suitable to people for whom that would be a problem.

My wife and I enjoyed a few days in Bologna, staying at the Albergo delle Drapperie. The hotel is relatively small but full of character. The bedrooms are not large but they are sufficient. The reception staff spoke English and were very helpful. The loaction of the hotel is 100 metres from the main square (centre) of Bologna and in the heart of the bars and resteraunts. You can pay extra if you want breakfast, but we preferred to eat out. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

I stayed two nights at Albergo delle Drapperie and loved it. The location is unbeatable—right in the heart of the Quadrilatero, with amazing food and restaurants just steps away. It was a little tricky to reach by taxi when I arrived (the area was closed to cars), but getting an Uber to the train station when I left was no problem. The hotel itself is charming and clean, and my room was cozy and comfortable. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very helpful. I’d definitely stay here again!

This is a lovely, intimate hotel, elegantly old-fashioned, set in a 19th century building with a rather grand staircase. Our second floor room was on the small side (we knew that before booking by looking at the website) but very pretty and homely, with nice decorative features and good value for money. The bed was comfortable, there was generous storage space for clothes and luggage, the aircon worked well, which was important because of the 37C heatwave, the bathroom was well-appointed and the room was quiet - it faced the back of the building, although it's possible that front-facing rooms, overlooking the street, might be noisier. The TV was very small, but who wants to watch TV when there is so much to see and do in Bologna? The staff were friendly and efficient, helpful with restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was ok but ample. Because of the shape of the building, the lift operates only from the first floor reception upwards, which means that there are steps to climb - so may not be suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. The hotel is located in the very heart of Bologna, in the historic Quadrilatero district, which is a paradise for foodies, as well as being extremely well placed for exploring the city.

Great location in amazing Bologna. But our room was very small, barely any space to move around and there was no tea kettle or coffee in the room, and we paid over 200 euros. Good thing you have a nice cafe next door...

Yelp
I just spent 4 nights at the Albergo delle Drapperie and it was the perfect hotel for a single tourist in a great location in Bologna. I would highly recommend it. It is just off the Piazza Maggiore down a small side street surrounded by restaurants, bars, and food stores. It is a small hotel with smallish rooms but it is very clean. The best part of the experience was the very helpful and friendly staff both at the front desk and persons attending to breakfast in the mornings. And the location can't be beat.

Yelp
Wonderful staying experience. Cute, clean and quaint little place with a cute balcony looking down into s alley teeming with market and restaurant and businesses. If we come back to visit Bologna, definitely wound stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed in room 303, which was not facing the street so it was pretty quiet when the window was shut. Intermittent wi-fi but the desk clerk did try and fix it. Our room was spacious, by European standards but the bathroom had a tub with a handheld shower and no shower curtain, making it impossible to shower. They will do laundry for 10 euro. There is no elevator until the reception desk. This requires climbing 2 flights of stairs. This is not a hotel that the disabled can stay in. Location in Bologna is very good. Probably the biggest selling point of this hotel.

Yelp
Beautifully renovated hotel smack dab in the heart of Bologna. Warm and friendly staff. Clean, tidy, ample-sized accommodations. Only (minor) complaints were the odd smell in our room similar to what we've experienced in Venezia and Bellagio and the fact that our room on the 3d floor was a bit warmer than we would've liked (and the the thermostat was apparently useless). Despite all that, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
