My recent stay at Hotel Albergo Firenze in Como was an absolute pleasure. The hotel's location is truly perfect, situated in a lovely square right in the old city center, just a short walk from the famous Como lake. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The reception personnel were incredibly kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. The rooms were impeccably clean and provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. I highly recommend Hotel Albergo Firenze for its fantastic location and, most importantly, for its outstanding and welcoming staff.

The location of Albergo Firenze is unbeatable—right in Piazza Volta, the main square in Como, with a lively and energetic atmosphere both day and night. It's also just a 5-minute walk to the Lake Como waterfront, which was a huge plus. Great spot if you want to be in the heart of the action. The price was reasonable for the location, but the hotel itself is very dated. The lobby is small and cramped, making check-in feel a bit chaotic. The elevator is tiny—fits 2–3 people max—so if you have luggage, be prepared to wait or take the stairs. The hallway leading to our second-floor room was particularly run-down, with worn carpet and walls that made a poor first impression. Fortunately, the room itself was clean, although still quite dated. It was much better maintained than the hallway, which was a relief. We didn’t try the breakfast, so can’t comment on that. Staff interaction was minimal, so hard to judge service overall. Overall, I appreciated the location but would likely explore other options next time. The hotel could really benefit from a renovation.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the hotel. The location is excellently placed steps away from shops, restaurants and bars. ||The hotel staff were very helpful and checkin was seamless. ||The rooms were small but very clean, quiet (despite central location) and modern. More importantly the bathroom was newly refurbished with beautiful shower, facilities and a very good size. ||This is a good hotel and very good value for the central location and the facilities of hotel. Highly recommend.

From the very start of our stay (end of April early May 2025) we were very warmly welcomed by Francesca at the reception desk who immediately gave us access to our room at 10 am without any additional early check-in charge. The room was very clean and spacious with everything we needed. The view from the balcony - Piazza Volta was wonderful as we had booked the superior room. The breakfast was wonderful - the quality of the food was outstanding from the selection of cold meats and cheeses, hot foods and pastries, which were supplied from the best pastry bakery in Como. Of particular note were the wonderful staff on hand at breakfast - they were very friendly and could not be more helpful and always had a smile. Thank you to Francesca and all the team at Albergo Firenze. We will definitely visit this great hotel and town again. Edward and Mary (Perth, Australia)

The location of the hotel is excellent. a 10 minute walk from the train stations. Right in the Piazza with a half dozen restaurants steps away. A 5 minute walk to the ferry. One item to note is the piazza can stay a bit noisy in the late evening as late as midnight as people drink/eat. Closing the window that overlooks the piazza helps keep the noise out of the room. Staff is great. Breakfast was good. Our only minor complaint from our group, who had a total of 3 rooms, was the air conditioning. It was the end of May and temps were around 80+ degrees. and the AC was blowing room temperature air for all of us. Since it wasn't that unpleasant, we did not complain, but I wondered if that would change as temperatures got warmer.

They put me in a tiny room with no windows, severely slanted ceiling, and broken air conditioner. They did not mention the room condition when I booked it. They charged me about 270 Euro for 3 people per night. Elvator took forever to come because they had only 1 elevator. Breakfast was below average. It is not a walking distance from the train station. You have to add taxi fare. If I go back to Lake Como, I would choose some place else. My whole family felt that we were in a jail cell. The hotel ruined our first trip to Lake Como.

The hotel is very nice and conveniently located close to the train station. The room and bathroom were spotless and inviting, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The hotel provides free breakfast and it was delicious. The place is within easy reach of shops, the train station, and the ferry for trips to the Lake Como area. It’s situated in an excellent location.

Perfect hotel overlooking a square in the old town of Como; pedestrian area and easy access to everything.Noisy rooms on the front of the building, especially in summer until the restaurants and bars close.Staff very friendly and helpful

Yelp
I can't really fault Albergo Firenze, I would happily stay here again. The location is perfect, it is on a pedestrian square right in the center of Como and only one street from the lake. I was here at Christmas and the square had a lovely atmosphere, there were a few market stalls and a beautiful carousel. There are also loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Despite how lively the area is, I didn't find the area noisy at night. The rooms are basic enough, however, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was very modern a spotlessly clean. The only thing that perhaps let the hotel down was the buffet breakfast, it was included in the room rate though so I won't complain too much. There is private parking available nearby for an additional fee.
