Hotel Firenze, Como – Short Review The location is excellent: just a few minutes’ walk from the city center, surrounded by plenty of good restaurants, and only about 3 minutes from the lake. A DM grocery store is conveniently 2 minutes away, and several coffee bars are right around the corner. The rooms are a bit older, but still charming and pleasantly quiet. We had a room on the top floor, which added to the peaceful atmosphere. The hotel is dog‑friendly, which we really appreciated. Service was outstanding—staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful with any request. Our room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was perfectly fine as well. A comfortable stay in a great location.

The location was perfect, right in the middle of one of the squares, we could walk there from the train station in less than 10 minutes and could explore all of Como from there. ||The square outside is beautiful - though be careful where you choose to eat as we only ate in one restaurant and the food was expensive and poor service, so choose better than us!! ||From the hotel we could walk around, then return to it, so it was a fantastic bas to have. ||The room was set out well, clean and comfortable. ||I would happily stay there again if I come back to Como

Really enjoyed my days at the Albergo Firenze in Como. The location is terrific, minutes from Lake Como with a variety of restaurants close by. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was definitely a cut above the norm with eggs, bacon, a pancakes, yogurt, a wide assortment of delightful baked goods, and more. Multiple friendly staff handled requests for express, latte and more. Those arriving by car can use a public parking garage that’s about six minutes away. The train station is eight minutes away and a very easy walk

The location of Albergo Firenze is unbeatable—right in Piazza Volta, the main square in Como, with a lively and energetic atmosphere both day and night. It's also just a 5-minute walk to the Lake Como waterfront, which was a huge plus. Great spot if you want to be in the heart of the action. The price was reasonable for the location, but the hotel itself is very dated. The lobby is small and cramped, making check-in feel a bit chaotic. The elevator is tiny—fits 2–3 people max—so if you have luggage, be prepared to wait or take the stairs. The hallway leading to our second-floor room was particularly run-down, with worn carpet and walls that made a poor first impression. Fortunately, the room itself was clean, although still quite dated. It was much better maintained than the hallway, which was a relief. We didn’t try the breakfast, so can’t comment on that. Staff interaction was minimal, so hard to judge service overall. Overall, I appreciated the location but would likely explore other options next time. The hotel could really benefit from a renovation.

My recent stay at Hotel Albergo Firenze in Como was an absolute pleasure. The hotel's location is truly perfect, situated in a lovely square right in the old city center, just a short walk from the famous Como lake. From the moment I arrived, the service was exceptional. The reception personnel were incredibly kind, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and pleasant experience. Their warm hospitality made all the difference. The rooms were impeccably clean and provided a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. I highly recommend Hotel Albergo Firenze for its fantastic location and, most importantly, for its outstanding and welcoming staff.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at the hotel. The location is excellently placed steps away from shops, restaurants and bars. ||The hotel staff were very helpful and checkin was seamless. ||The rooms were small but very clean, quiet (despite central location) and modern. More importantly the bathroom was newly refurbished with beautiful shower, facilities and a very good size. ||This is a good hotel and very good value for the central location and the facilities of hotel. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful hotel! From the moment we walked in, I knew it was going to be a good trip, as the Hotel is right in the middle of a beautiful Italian Piazza, surrounded by restaurants and shops. We were greeted by Francesca, who allowed me to practice my bad Italian with her. Our room overlooked the square, and we had a wonderful stay at the Albergo Firenze. We would definitely stay again on future visits to Lake Como. There is also a wonderful coffee shop right underneath the hotel, where we were able to have a nice breakfast each morning.

Nothing horrible, nothing great. The reason for the 3 star review is that the room (late September / early October) was ridiculously hot to the point of impacting sleep. However, the hotel indicated that the local government forces them to turn off AC in “cooler weather.” Neither breakfast nor parking were included. Staff were friendly and polite.

I can't really fault Albergo Firenze, I would happily stay here again. The location is perfect, it is on a pedestrian square right in the center of Como and only one street from the lake. I was here at Christmas and the square had a lovely atmosphere, there were a few market stalls and a beautiful carousel. There are also loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Despite how lively the area is, I didn't find the area noisy at night. The rooms are basic enough, however, the bed was huge and very comfortable. The bathroom was very modern a spotlessly clean. The only thing that perhaps let the hotel down was the buffet breakfast, it was included in the room rate though so I won't complain too much. There is private parking available nearby for an additional fee.
