Wonderful location. Highlight of our hike from Thusis to Tirano. Rooms are simple but clean and have a good size. It you are lucky you get a room with a view to the glacier. Food and breakfast was great. We had a nice cheese fondue for dinner.

A great spot to grab a bite while enjoying an amazing view of the Alp Grüm glacier. The food won’t blow your mind, but the nature around definitely makes it a memorable experience. Perfect stop on your journey to warm up, eat something tasty, and let your eyes wander over the stunning mountain scenery. And if you’re lucky, you’ll snap some photos worth bragging about. :)

Words by the restaurant/hotel waitress 31st, May.: "We do not have key for your room, it is forgotten. But in Switzerland there are only nice people, it is okay" "You can go to (other place)" "No, I do not have other room" "It happens often, the guests take keys" So we booked in St. Moritz and packed up to leave. "I did not say 'you can go'" "(Shows key to other room)I can show you other room" What a liar. We are taking only nice pictures and bad memories from this place. Thank you for nothing.

Unacceptable behavior and disrespectful service. Today we visited the restaurant at Alp Grüm and had one of the most unpleasant experiences we've ever encountered. Upon arriving, we politely asked the staff to clean our table, as it hadn't been tidied after the previous guests. To our surprise, the waitress/cleaning staff rudely refused, claiming she didn’t understand us, despite clearly speaking English earlier. She blatantly ignored our request and responded in an unprofessional, dismissive, and outright rude manner. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a location that prides itself on welcoming tourists from all over the world. Management should take immediate steps to train their staff in providing respectful and hospitable service. Visitors deserve to feel welcomed and valued, not treated with arrogance and hostility.

Made a stop here off a the Bernina express. Had a wonderful meal there and the view was gorgeous. The staff were kind, welcoming and efficient. We took our time enjoying our meal before hopping another train to St. Moritz. Definitely recommended!

Arrived at the Albergo Ristorante Alp Grum and the view was amazing. The train stops for a few minutes to allow the Bernina Express passengers to take in the beauty of the mountains as well as a view of the Val Poschiavo Valley. I took a few pictures of the train because I love trains. I also recognized how nice it was to ride a train through the mountains rather than drive. The views were so remarkable that I would instantly become a liability to other drivers.

There are no wifi, no TV, no minibar and no hair-dryer in the room, but that is completely irrelevant, because this hotel and restaurant have everything that makes it a truly outstanding experience. Here you stay in a small and cosy hotel, where the rooms don't have numbers but have been given names from the mountain tops that surrounds the hotel. The hotel is in the station building with the Bernina Express line running around it. We visited the place in February. It was snowing all the time, so with didn't see any mountain tops. Instead it was completely quiet at night and it was a special experience to be woken up a 5.45 am by the snow plow train. And during the day the train conductors stop at the station and go into the restaurant for a cup of coffee, before they get back to the train and start driving again. The restaurant is truly cosy, and as the train service only takes place in the day time, the guests of the restaurants in the evening are also the guests of the hotel. It is very intimate. The food is good an traditional, and the chinese fondue is highly recommendable.
